I spent a lot of time trying to find the right vet for my new puppy. I'm glad that I found Dr. S. She is really friendly and good with my puppy. The prices are fair too. The only downside I would say is that it seems to be busy because Dr.S always seems rushed whenever I went to see her.Anyways I will be taking my little fur baby there soon to get fixed and I know they will take good care of her. I was so tired of going to the vet and feeling like they were just trying to get as much $$$ as they could. Of course it's a business but being charged $32 for one pill is a bit much. Dr. S. is absolutely wonderful. We have been using her services for a few years now and have had nothing but great experiences. We never have any problems bringing our dogs to the vet because they love everyone who works there. As a bonus, the prices are very affordable and always much lower than the internet says to expect. You can tell that Dr. S really cares about the animals that she cares for and she goes above and beyond. We had a scare when our dog ate a poisonous mushroom. He was at the vet for 4 days and Dr. S took him home with her to keep an eye on him. She kept us updated with calls/texts/picture messages while he recovered and even gave him a bath before we picked him up. She also checked in with us a few days later to make sure he was doing okay. Boarding services are also very reasonable. The old (bad) reviews really should be removed as they are for a different vet. Read Less

Every time the female vet tech cuts my Yorkies' nails she cuts the quick on at least one or two nails. This is the third time this has happened with her clipping his nails. There is a guy with a ponytail that has cut my dogs nails 4 or 5 times, and this hasn't happened once with him. What's worse is that she is very condescending and doesn't take responsibility for it. I took him to get his nails cut today, and he bled a lot after she cut his quick. Initially, she told me that she had not, at which point I highlighted the blood on the table, and she conceded that she had "maybe cut him a little bit." When I brought him home my girlfriend saw the blood she rushed back up there to ask what happened. The same vet tech told her that the reason for his bleeding could have occurred on his way home and she had never cut our dogs nails before today, so this wasn't a repeat issue. One thing I can guarantee is that she will not cut his nails again, as we are in the process of looking for a new veterinarian. Read Less

The vet clinic's office assistant changed since last I went over a year ago. The assistant was disorganized. The vet and assistant seemed to be struggling with more the one appointment on the day I took my pet for a routine visit. They also were out of rabies certificates, and they never mailed one to me. I have never used the grooming or pet sitting, but the veterinary care here is amazing. Everyone is genuine. Even though they get busy, they still take great care of you and your fur kid! The prices are also very reasonable, and I'm so happy to have found an affordable place for my dogs.Dr. Shuykin is so caring, intelligent, and takes time to explain any medications, illnesses, or treatments. I absolutely love this place!! There are not enough words to describe how grateful I am to have found this place! I have taken our dog Sophia, and recommended this hospital to my sister in law as she had been to Banfield, because her dog was severely sick and Banfield could not figure out what the problem was. After numerous tests and x-rays they just could NOT figure it out. She took her dog to this hospital and my sister in law was speechless because she could not believe the amount of love they received her with. I revisited North Hills after learning that the ownership had changed (in spring 2015). Our previous experience under the old ownership had not been good, so we are delighted with the care and deep compassion that Dr. Shuykin now brings to the practice. She and the staff are kind, friendly, accessible, and knowledgeable, and I'm confident that the pets are in great hands. I took my dog here because I heard they were under new ownership.  Was going to a low cost clinic and got tired of waiting forever to be seen, even with an appointment.  I am delighted with Dr. Suykin and the rest of her staff!  They are friendly, caring and the cost is a definite plus.  Dr. Suykin explained everything she was doing and they were so good with my dog!  I will be bringing all my animals here from now on.  So happy!!!! Let me preface my review by stating that our dog is family and we treat our dog as though he was a human. We will not compromise his health and let just anyone treat him...with that said we felt they we got excellent service from the time we came in with our dog. It should be noted that this animal hospital is under new ownership since April 2015. We have dealings with the last owner and it was descent.O.K  on with the review... Dr. Shuykin(which is a grad of UGA) and Chris the tech were both great and each explained very throughly what was going on. The prices were beyond resonable(I.E very afforable with no compromise in care).  I highly recommend this place...other than Braircliff( which you get excellent care as well but it is very expensive...braircliff would of charge us $300 for the same xray package we got here for $115 and the xrays are all digital...which means less radiation exposure to your pet) I feel that this place is on par with Braircliff and that your pet(family member) will get treated right! Saw their billboard and decided to try this hospital. The facility is very clean and the staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and very helpful. Dr. Shuykin is the most caring veterinarian I have ever met. She sat on the floor with my dog to do belly rubs while she was explaining her plan as far as my dog's treatment options. I went to pick or Mr. Max'noglia (hes a Senior Norwegian Forrest cat) from the Dr. today - and Mr. Max did not want to leave. He was walking around the hospital/office like it was his second home and when the Dr. walked away he followed her like a "puppy" really! He even found the buffet of food there for the resident cat Dr. didnt say a word and just gave a beautiful smile to him. Max is in love with his doctor. I even offered to leave him and come back at 8:00 when the office closed to get him so they could have more time together. Go figure - the Dr. washed his bottom, shaved his belly due to bad mats, took blood and then washed him and he's in love! If I did that at home and I'd be in the emergency room due to severe scratches and would probably need stitches. But no Dr. can do anything and everything to him and he doesn't care. Got to love the Dr! I know Max does. I'm almost jealous - she is so good and kind with Max and he can be somewhat of a royal pain to deal with. Read Less

Decided to try out this vet as it was close to home, looked clean, not too busy and prices compared to discount places further away. We took in a stray we found last week so was unsure of what we were walking into. Dr. Shuykin was super nice, as was the staff. Front desk help was sweet, Chris, the Tech, was nice, laid back and great with our dog. Got a full exam, testing for heart worms, fecal swab, shots, 6 months of heartworm treatment AND 3 doses of hookworm treatment for $140. Pretty darn good! I highly recommend! Read Less

We had a very pleasant experience here today.  Dr. Shuykin was very professional, caring and compassionate when it came to taking care of our tuxedo cat and some bowel issues he had.  The prices were very reasonable as well.  Please note that this vet clinic is under new management and the former doctor has moved back to India, apparently.  While we didn't have any negative issues with him, we understand some others did.  We urge everyone in the Chamblee & Tucker area to support Dr. Shuykin as she serves our neighborhood.  Thanks! The new vet, Dr. Shuykin was wonderful. Apparently she took over in april of '15 from the previous owners. We brought our saved stray kitten in for its first checkup and shots, and she was so warm and caring toward him. You can really see the love and concern. When the time came to give take blood for testing, she and Tiffany the tech were so gentle with the kitten that he was not upset at all. [We still haven't named him, my son wants to call him Smaug (o.O) ]. She showed me the test results personally and made sure I was ok with everything she was doing each step of the way. She even asked before she trimmed the cat's front claws so it would be less likely to severely scratch my son.     The fees were incredibly affordable. It was such a relief. I had received quotes from other places for initial visits, then found out about all the add ons like tests and shots and the like. They quoted me the total cost right up front when I asked for the total number, but I was still expecting it to be more and was bracing myself. The number was exactly what they had said. She came back out to talk more with me because I had forgotten to ask about food. Dr. Shuykin gave me lots of  advice and suggestions without trying to push any product on me.  Next appointment is in three weeks and I am looking forward to it. Read Less

Today I visited North Hills Animal Hospital and met the very "special" Dr Reddy. After waiting for over 30 minutes he arrived in whereby I stood up and shook his hand. I gave him a brief history of my cat's eye problem. He used the flashlight on his cell phone to perform his exam. He stated that there was a hemorrhage in the front and likely elevated pressure within her eye most probable from something pushing forward from behind . He stated that he would need to perform a "complete eye exam". My first of TWO question to this "Dr" was."Have you ever seen anything like this before?" His answer was "yes, many times". My second question was " what in your best opinion could it be" He responded "Is this an examination?" I'm thinking what the hell is he talking about? Then he stated that he felt like he was being "interrogated" and  I was questioning his ability to evaluate my cat. SERIOUSLY??? He can't answer two simple questions after examining  my cats eye, even though he had already stated he had seen this many times?? I attempted to apologize if I had seemed that I undermined his capabilities as a vet but he wasn't having any of it. He then stated on about trust, lack of trust blah, blah blah blah. He excused me from his practice and stated he would not provide care to my cat. I have never in my existence experienced an interaction like this with another "professional". I am a healthcare worker and  patients often ask that I  explain rationale for interventions or procedures. They also ask my best medical opinion which I will gladly respond to with the best of my knowledge. I left Dr Reddy's practice with an absolute belief that he is neither confident in his ability to practice as a veterinarian  or comfortable with patients questioning his practice . This leaves me with serious doubts about his ability to provide competent care to any animal. My recommendation is to STAY AWAY from North Hills Animal Hospital. Read Less

Very disappointed with this clinic. Made an appointment for my dog yesterday and even followed up confirming the appointment. However, when we showed up on the entire staff had already left for the day. I double checked to verify the hours of operation and the clinic was empty 1hour before posted closing. I received no phone call or notification of the early closing and the lack of professionalism left me weary and I will not be returning back to this vet. Read Less

I should have read this review before I took my dog to this place. The vet tries to sell you almost everything he has in his shelves whether or not you need it. He tries to be friendly but it comes off as being very nosy, way too many personal questions, nothing pertaining to the reason for the visit. Unfortunately, its close to my place, so i had to go there but never again. They did not give me prices of any of the medicines, kept me waiting and charged me three times of what I'm used to paying for in other animal clinics. We brought our cat here to have him declawed. After picking him up we noticed that two of the pads (one seemed as if there was no more skin and that you could see the bone) on his paws seemed off and after bringing him back in we were assured that everything would be fine. We still felt as if something was wrong so we took him to another vet and, after two visits were told that not only did they perform the procedure wrong but they also BUTCHERED one of his pads so badly that it could not be salvaged, that what we saw was in fact bone and there is no hope for the pad to grow back. Now, because that particular pad was the first on the paw he will have to relearn to walk as that particular pad is used for balance. We also have another cat that we brought in before the declawing incident, she was seen by a female veterinarian who was extremely cold, unprofessional, and generally uncaring. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone, these people do not care about your pets and gloss over major concerns on follow up visits. Read Less
