Dr Stephen Tkac and his staff are wonderful. They recently helped our sweet black lab through a very difficult time after a  diagnosis of Osteosarcoma. Over these last two months, I called and visited the practice often. They were always responsive, professional and caring. We discovered Bridge Park when our daughter and her dog, Lucy, were visiting for the holidays.  Lucy needed medical attention and Bridge Park fit her in on Christmas Eve, even though we were not their patients.  The staff was awesome!  They took good care of Lucy and were friendly and informative. I had a somewhat similar experience as Gina R with Dr. Travis, but this after spending several hundreds for testing and meds that had little positive effect on the outcome. The diagnosis should have been easily discernible from the initial exam had it been done more completely. I wasted almost three weeks torturing my cat forcing antibiotic liquids and pills down her throat when her condition was terminal anyway. Dr. Travis has not mastered her craft even after these many years which may be why she's moved around a lot to different vet practices. Read Less

This place is money hungry! I took my dog here to be treated for worms and  each time they did not give him enough medication to kill them. I came in 3 times and each time they wanted to charge me again. The girl up front was very rude when I requested to talk to the vet owner. She didn't want to bother him at home. My friend told me about this place after she had a traumatic animal experience. She said they were very nice and helpful in a difficult situation. I've had some bad vet visits recently in the area, so I needed a good place for my dog. I had no idea this place was around. It's so close and convenient. I walked in, and they saw me right away. They were sweet with my timid dog. It didn't take long. I can't wait for my puppy to be feeling better with the antibiotics. We will definitely be back for annual shots! Read Less

Finding a new vet can be stressful and I rely on reviews for insight, so I have to share my experience here. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. They informed me of what to expect and asked my preference on things such as desiring to be present for certain procedures; they really care about your pet. They treated my daughter like an angel (even though she was not acting like one) and gave her coloring pages while we talked about my dog. And best of all, very clear on details and costs, both immediate and possibly ongoing, so I could make an educated decision. Can't wait to go back for grooming! Highly recommend. Read Less

We just left Bridge Park Animal Hospital to get our dog Bentley Phillips his first check-up, and when I tell you the staff and doctor was GREAT! Bentley is a Chi-Poo and is 2months old. They gave us all the information we needed to care for our new family member, and even cut around his eyes, and bottom for free to clear away the curly hair around those areas. Bentley's doctor, Dr. Travis was amazing and therally checked him out and made his visit an enjoyable one. The facility is clean, cozy, and pet/family friendly. We have been so impressed with this office since we moved here & got our older dog established.  The staff is competent & considerate and they have always been quick to get him in when needed.  The transition between vets (from OH to GA) was seamless thanks to them.  We have seen both vets & they have provided our old guy with excellent medical care (from treating pancreatitis to treating arthritis to pulling abscess teeth) to keep him looking younger than his 15 years! Wow, what a refreshing experience.  A vet's office where the staff and the doctor get personal with your dog and treat you like valued clients.  After being with the same vet for over a decade you would think that switching to Bridge Park would be a difficult decision but it was actually easy peasy (refer to review of our previous vet's office). When I first called for an appointment (that I got SAME DAY even though it wasn't even remotely an emergency) I asked about staff turnover and apparently all of these people have worked together for years. That's important. The staff are gracious, welcoming and very understanding, even after Bob peed all over their floor because Bob feels like he needs to pee on everything. Apparently the whole world is Bob's territory. Even when he wasn't turning the visit into a pee-fest, he was slinging slobber everywhere that was cleaned up without a single dirty look before I could even get to it (have a gross dog, travel with paper towels). My beloved Bob is a 140lb phlegmy, gassy, stinky, furry, pee-crazy tornado but these folks take it all in stride. I think they actually had fun with him. The vet we saw was fantastic, took his time getting to know Bob and trying to make him comfortable. Being 140 pound bundle of stranger anxiety, Bob is a handful but everyone was so nice to him and so gentle. We very much appreciated not feeling rushed, as a result of all the love he did amazingly well.You can tell, even in a short visit, that all of these folks love animals.  This is obviously more than a paycheck, it is a calling, and that is a rare jewel in the doggie crown. If you have a large dog I urge you to at least go in for a visit and meet the folks here. They were not intimidated by Bob's size at all, they were familiar with his rare breed and again, just super great to us. If my dog likes you then I like you. Being nice to my dog and having an appreciation of my time and money has sold me on this office. We've spent years with another vet's office where no one even remembered our names when we came in. I have a feeling that Bridge Park is a place where they will know me and Bob and recognize us every time. I look forward to many happy and healthy years here. Read Less

The staff and facility are the best! I know when I need our cat boarded or looked at for his skin issues, they treat him like one of their own! I always feel a warm vibe when I am there, they treat the pet parents really well. If you decide to become their client you will never have to second guess their intentions- they are awesome!! Our cat likes them so much that when we need to board him, he just trots his way to the back and finds his little home there and he feels completely ok with being there. Great place to take my dog. I started going here when my old vet retired. The place is clean, the vets are nice and my dog is not terrified to go there. I took him in recently for a skin rash and they noticed he had an umbilical hernia. Without hesitation they scheduled him for surgery that very day and he was home with me that afternoon. Ownership of this practice has changed. Dr. Ballowe and Dr. Neff are no longer there. The good:  staff is friendly and the decor is bright and fresh. It smells nice and is welcoming. Definitely doesn't small like a sterile vet and you don't hear a bunch of dogs barking when you walk in. I never met the new owner and I don't want to hurt anyone's business but I feel compelled to warn people about Dr. Travis. She is not the owner but works there.  We brought our cat to her 2 times because of concerns about lesions that we're forming on her skin. Dr. Travis is not a consultative vet. She has problems with communication and quite frankly, was flat out rude at times. When our cats condition did not improve after the 1st visit, we did some research online in an attempt to be more informed and scheduled a 2nd appt. She came into the room with 2 syringes in hand and TOLD us we had 2 choices. She promptly apologized for the way she communicated so I was willing to look past that. She didn't mention any of the possible root causes we found in doing our own research so when we asked questions her response was "I should just take off my white jacket and let you do my job".  Our appointment lasted about 30-min and 20 of it was spent hearing about HER and HER CATS.  She never did a thorough exam. I guess she was put off by my poor kitty's skin condition. The last straw was when I was holding my cat still for the injection Dr.Travis recommended. I felt a quarter size mass in my cat's throat area and had never felt it before. I pointed it out to her and she dismissively said "could be her lymph node...could be anything" but NEVER proceeded to do an exam to see if there were any other enlarged glands. Thankfully, we switched vets. Our kitty got a thorough exam and we learned she had several enlarged glands. We were referred to a specialist and unfortunately, we learned my kitty has lymphoma and the skin lesions are a side effect of it. Folks, we would still not know our fur baby has cancer if we stayed under Dr. Travis' care. She has serious issues with communication and a part of me doesn't want to believe she's intentionally rude but frankly, it's not my job to have to decipher that. Biggest thing:  She's not a thorough vet and is not consultative. Put it all together and that's enough for me to never go back again. None of our experience with her would've changed the fact that our baby girl has cancer....but if we had stayed there we wouldn't even know. Read Less

Im so happy for a place that's so nice and welcoming. I had to go here for my puppies physical when I first got him and initially thought no way am I coming all the way out from Buckhead to continue bringing him out here it's too far. Well needless to say, I have continued to drive the distance. The staff is always so nice and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Tkac at Bridge Park Animal Hospital. Before discovering Dr. Tkac, I had the most noticeably awful time attempting to discover a vet that was both qualified, and legitimate, to look after my sweet little dog, Lillie, whom I consider to be similarly as imperative as another relative. I need my dog to carry on with the longest life conceivable. So it was critical to me to discover a vet that can keep her solid and Dr. Tkac is the main vet I trust to keep my puppy carrying on with the best life she can. Presently I drive around 90 minutes just to guarantee my dog, Lillie, is in the best care. I can sincerely say that Dr. Tkac and Bridge Park is pass on the most elite. We have been patients of Bridge Park Animal Hospital for many years. Lola needed an appointment this weekend so we decided to take her in to meet the new vet. The vet techs and assistants are friendly and professional (as they always were). Dr. Tkac has re-decorated his office beautifully (and even gave me the picture of Rusty that used to hang on the wall!). He is clearly passionate about caring for animals and extremely knowledgeable. We have seen 3 separate vets for Lola's current problems, and he was able to quickly diagnose and come up with a treatment plan - she is already feeling much better after 48 hours! I could not more highly recommend Bridge Park. We were referred by our neighbors, and what a great recommendation. Our VERY high energy mini poodle actually tries to jump out of the car and run inside when we pull up. I've never had a dog do that at the Vet's office! We have been taking her here since we brought her home from the breeder in September 2014. There is never a long wait, the staff that runs the front desk is attentive, knowledgable, genuinely friendly and very helpful. They remember her name too! Our pup always gets the best care. We had her spayed here, and Dr. Ballowe actually called me later in the day to follow up, and to make sure she was doing ok! Also, one time when my husband and I were out of town, and my mother was staying with our son and our pup. Somehow, in a five minute time span, our dog managed to get a bone stuck on her bottom jaw. My mom called me in a panic, and then I called the office. They met her at the car, helped her to get our busy, high energy girl inside, and immediately took care of her. They not only put the dog at ease, but also were very kind and considerate to my mom. We have also had Raegan regularly groomed here, and Giovanna cannot be beat. Reagan leaps into her arms! All services have always been very fairly priced. In fact, I am always pleasantly surprised by the prices. I just had the most wonderful experience meeting the team at Bridge Park Animal Hospital in Alpharetta! My daughter has always wanted to be a veterinarian and the team along with Dr. Stephen Tkac took time to share with my little girl about just what it means to become a vet. Dr. Tkac, Christen (tech), and Jessi (reception) literally gave me the best vetinary experience I have ever had. I speak with some experience from being a vet tech before. Personally, I think hearing details of the experience is helpful in a review, so read them below. They took me last minute as a walk in when I had an emergency. I came in upset and scared with my dog, a Yorkie, that got a severe scratch to his eye and blood was all over. The staff truly worked as a team. Jessi welcomed me and was kind and empathetic. The tech, Christen helped me right away and cared for my dog as if it was her own. The doctor, Dr. Tkac, was also kind, calm, empathetic, and acted immediately to help treat my dog. They made sure that he was comfortable and when they took him in the back they told me EXACTLY what would be done. Not all vets or staff do this. The doctor then walked me through how to care for my pet's injuries once I got home. He also chose to let me know what options I had for his care. And the price was more than fair. I have had quick follow up visits and was not charged. The doctor went above and beyond by calling a specialist for me and calling me back when he said he would. In this day and age where many places treat you as just another random person they have to deal with to get through the day, I feel blessed to have gotten this exceptional level of care from all of the staff. I am so excited Dr. Tkac now owns this practice! We have been taking our two dogs to him for years, and his team is so friendly and professional. We would have followed him anywhere. He did multiple surgeries on our lab, bojangles, who had 8 mass cell tumors on her (just the last time!) and Dr. Tkac was able to remove them all and they have yet to return. Afterward, she had so much more energy and we are so grateful she is still with us over a year and a half later. Dr. Tkac has gone so over and above what I could have expected from a vet to make sure our animals are healthy from taking late night calls, giving the shirt off his back to cover bojangles surgery sites (literally), and calls to follow up to make sure they are doing ok. I have never gotten such great service anywhere else. They truly treat my animals they like are their own and you can't ask for much more than that. They definitely overdeliver. Amazing group! They do an exceptional job, do little extra things for your babies and show you how to take good care of your fur babies and explain why it is important. I absolutely love this place!! They have been my vet for over 7 years. I have 4 dogs so we're always there. We love Dr. Ballowe! She is the best. Some of my dogs have very serious issues and she always knows everything about it and can tell me right then everything involved and how to handle it. Everyone there is the best from the front desk to the techs to the Docs. They are always so helpful no matter what I need. I don't know what we'd do without them. My diabetic kitty is well cared for here.  We've seen both Dr Ballowe and Dr Neff and they are great as well as all the staff.  Since he's diabetic when we travel he boards here and they take great care of him and their rates are fairly reasonable.  We went through a scary episode and I feel that we got the best care possible for my cat and that I was fully informed when making all decisions.  The staff was fantastic during this time and I'm very garteful to have such a great place to help care for my baby.
