Honestly I have mixed feelings about this clinic. Dr. Lafferty was very personable and did a good job with our dog, but I feel like their practice focuses more on making a profit than they do the animals. Our dog is on 2xdaily medication for seizures, and has been on a prescription for 4 years. Our previous vet required annual blood work for the prescription. (Which we completely agree with and understand) However, because of location we switched to Lafferty. We paid close to 300 dollars for the initial visit / blood work etc, thinking we would have a years prescription for our dog. A few days ago, our prescription was denied from Costco so we called the vet and they claimed they were requiring blood work and a visit every 6 months. I asked if they would please go ahead and write this prescription refill because our dog has seizures if he doesn't have it and we were out. They told us "no- it's our policy." What kind of policy is that!? Thank you for your concern of our pet- I guess he'll just have to have daily seizures until we find a new vet or we can come in and pay 300 more dollars for something that was done 6 months ago. It just made me mad. Needless to say, we switched vets. The new vet even waved the new vet fee and told us that our dog only needs annual blood work for - 65 dollars- for the same prescription. I'm honestly annoyed at the lack of care and understanding, and although the new vet is a longer drive, I'm glad we switched. Read Less

There are no words to express how wonderful Dr. Michael Bowes and all the staff were during the treatment of my precious little Bengal, Monica, who he diagnosed with Lymphoma 3 months ago. She was just 13 years old and had never been sick a day in her life and had never been outside ever. So I was devastated. He advised me honestly all along the way and set proper expectations of what to expect. We immediately started her on a shot treatment bi-weekly and after each shot it r...elieved her symptoms, until the one last week when she quickly began going downhill. Every time I took her, Dr. Bowes went over and beyond to show such tender loving care. He never rushed and was truly present each visit to make sure we both were doing OK. He would even periodically call or have an assistant to call and just check on us throughout the weeks in between. We lost her today, but only after a very good fight. Although my heart is breaking right now.. Dr. Bowes and Carleigh today were so tender, supportive and caring. Dr. Lafferty, thank you also for hiring such a wonderful team. This is hands down, the BEST vet clinic I've ever been to. Dr. Lafferty and his staff are warm, professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic. Caution! Had a litter of sick kittens (4 wks old) so I brought in the two worst kittens. I was charged $130 in "sick exams" just to have them seen. When I asked if there was a litter exam price, the lady said no. Thank God I didn't bring the whole litter!! Treatment was a box of clavamox and eye ointment running my bill over $200 for a cold. Avoid this place unless you want to over pay for vet care by at least $100 and wait in the room for 45 mins before seeing a doc.Read Less

I had a good experience here. I recently moved and was bummed to leave our vet back home behind. My dog has allergies and some minor issues so I'm really picking about his vet. He always has a joke or story to tell and is just an all around great guy. It's a pleasure going to his facility. I have been through good times and not so good times with our beloved family dogs. Dr. Lafferty & his entire staff have taken the BEST care of Belle and our entire family for the last 10 years. We had to say goodbye to sweet Belle recently and it broke our hearts. This weekend we received a letter from Dr. Lafferty's office and Helper the Angel letting us know that Belle was in heaven & running and playing. Between going myself and going with my family as a youth, I've been going to Lafferty Animal Clinic for 20 years.  I moved out of the state several years ago and was forced to use different vets.  Upon moving back to Atlanta I returned to using Dr. Lafferty even though their are vets closer to me.On a whim I tried a closer vet and despite the location being 30 minutes closer (each way) the appointment ended up taking longer because I sat waiting in exam room for an hour.His staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and all are dog people (I cannot speak to their cat tolerance as I am not on speaking terms with cats so I haven't had the chance to observe - I imagine their kindness extends to all furry four legged creatures).Sometimes wait times can feel a bit long, but having experienced some other well rated Atlanta area vets I can attest to the fact that they are by no means as bad as some.I recommend Lafferty to all of my friends and trust his judgement when it comes to my fur-family. Dr Lafferty is 'hands down' the best vet around. We have been taking our pets to him for years. He is a cut above the rest. Anyone can do wellness checks, but if something is really wrong with your pet, he provides the latest information, technology, treatments, etc. Even when we left Atlanta, we required any new vet to consult with Dr. Lafferty on serious matters. Wow, that other review is  . . .completely inaccurate to my experience. Our cats are 8.5 years old, and they've been seeing Dr. Lafferty almost their whole lives. We started out with another vet, but through a series of events, we ended up with one of them at Lafferty's on Christmas Eve the first time we ever went there. The staff were courteous and very, very nice to us and have always been amazing with our cats. Very simply, Dr. Lafferty is one of the best, if not the best, small animal vet I've ever seen or dealt with in my life. He always knows our cats when we come in - either he has that good a memory or he's reviewing files previous to appointments, I don't know, but either way, it's just one way that he shows he cares. He treats us with respect - owners and pets - and he's got a superior manner with animals that just puts you right at ease. I tell all my friends to bring their pets to Dr. Lafferty. Dr. Lafferty is the best vet around! We have been with him for 10 years and I would not trust any other vet with wellbeing of my dogs! He has been a tremendous influence on not just our dog?s lives, but my family's lives as well. When we had to let our beloved Jimmy cross the bridge due to a degenerative spinal condition, Dr. Lafferty not only helped me deal with this, but my young children as well. He also saved the life of my dog Nate when he impaled himself on our fence. If it were not for Dr. Lafferty, he would not be alive today. And for that, I will forever be thankful. This office is well organized and takes their time with your beloved dog or cat. I was extremely worried about finding a good vet but Dr. Lafferty is extremely kind and has a good sense of humor, too.
