We feel very fortunate that we are able to take both our dogs to Midway Animal Hospital.  Dr. Lobeck has taken great care of our senior dog and our new puppy.  Everyone at their office is kind and friendly.  We have used their kennel and grooming services and they have always been wonderful.  Our dogs our members of our family and we want only the best for them.  We would recommend Midway to any of our friends and family! If you love your pets and want them to have the very best, this is the place to go. We have taken our dogs here for 14 years. They have always handled our animals with the greatest of care and compassion. We have had pets in there for everything from routine visits and vaccinations to the most dire of medical emergencies, and have always appreciated their services. They are not the cheapest vet out there. If you need discount care, this is not the place. But if you are like we are, that just want your pets to have the very best (at any price) then this is the place. We walk in every 6 months with our dogs, and they know our name when we walk in the door. How many dogs and cats come through that door in 6 months? And these people remember us with that amount of traffic? Impressive. This place is SPOTLESS. I mean immaculate. Completely clean, yet doesn't reek of cleaners and bleach. We have seen Dr. Lobek, Dr. Pavlovsky, and Dr. Bard at various times. All of them are absolutely fantastic. Dr. Lobek is who we primarily work with, and you couldn't meet a nicer guy who is more friendly and compassionate towards his patients and their humans. My dogs LIKE to see him. Even though he is always ready to stick, poke, and prod at them (as all doctors excel at), they still like him. I know, truth is stranger than fiction. When our oldest dog's time finally came to an end, it was a very difficult day. It had been coming for a while (terminal illness), and I had spent many sleepless hours wondering how I was ever going to get through it. I knew I had to be right there at my dog's side, but I could not figure out how I was going to muster the strength to do it. It was amazing how Dr. Lobek quickly assumed the role of human counselor and helped my wife and I through that morning. Midway Animal Hospital used to be owned by Dr. Hardee. He was a nice enough guy, but he was very old school and set in his ways. He has retired, and Dr. Lobek and Pavlovsky are the new owners. I'm very excited to see some of the changes they may bring. I love everyone I have had the pleasure of meeting here!! They are amazingly sweet to my dog, they even remember him when he comes in and when I call, and they answer all my questions thoroughly and never make me feel rushed or stupid for asking so many questions. My pets have been going to Midway for three years...I volunteer for a rescue so I have three rescues ...two cats, one dog and many more dogs that I walk every weekend at the rescue. I wish I could bring them all home! Almost two years ago, I had to put my beloved elderly Beagle down and the experience at Midway was a good one considering what I was there for...it's really hard to let those little guys go. When I saw him laying there so peacefully after months of doggie dementia, I knew it was the right thing to do. I mostly see Dr. Bard because she is awesome and so sweet, but my experience with all of the doctors at Midway proves that they are very caring and kind and understanding when it comes to caring for our "children". I love Midway Animal Hospital! We switched to this vet about a year ago and have had great experiences ever since. When we board them, our dogs come home happy and don't act weird at all (they have with previous facilities). The front desk staff seem to truly care about their well being and talk about my dogs in a similar way to myself - like they really care. It doesn't feel superficial at all. I recently brought my dogs in for their vaccines and one of them was acting very strangely afterward, which worried me. I called and they allowed me to bring my dog back for them to keep an eye on him for a few hours while I was at work - they gave him some medicine for pain and he was back to normal in no time at all. The entire staff has been so helpful, genuine, and lovely. As long as I'm living in Georgia, this will be my go-to! Read Less

May 9th, 2016 at Midway Animal Hospital in Alpharetta - Brought my cat in for a $55 grooming. They said he needed two shots. I should have asked, but was expecting a total under $100... The total was over $215, including an exam I didn't approve or even know about. I accepted a $30 medicine probiotic for an irritated tummy, but the total was still outrageous. Oh, and I got home to discover FLEAS! I have 3 cats and 2 dogs and haven't had fleas in years. This cost an unexpected additional $255 in flea meds the following day. I will never go anywhere other than North Main Animal Hospital (Alpharetta) again. What was I thinking! Now, even with proper response, I could have fleas in the house with my kids and pets for 3 months just because of the lifecycle. This is a miserable situation. Read Less

I took my 12 week old puppy for her first check up and shots since we got our sweet baby! The staff is absolutely amazing! I didn't have to wait long at all to get in with the doctor and wasn't rushed in and out like some places! All my questions were answered and I got a lot of great info that I didn't even know about! I would recommend this Vet to any of my friends! The doctor also didn't poke and prod at my baby to much either so she doesn't fear him! These people are great and truly love the animals! Read Less

Last week we visited Midway twice. In our first visit, Dr. Povlovsky was very understanding and kindly let us know how sick our cat was. She also gave us good information about how to know when the time had come to put her to sleep. A couple of days later, we returned for the dreaded appointment. Dr. Lubeck was so patient and kind and it really helped to know that the staff at Midway was so caring. We even received a sweet sympathy card in the mail a few days later. The staff at the front desk was also helpful and caring. We always felt that we got good medical care at Midway, but the personal and caring atmosphere really helped us get through a very difficult time. Thank you all. Read Less

My 2 year old cat is in the middle of a bad case of pancreatitis, but Dr. Hardee has been excellent at keeping me up to date on what's going on with my cat! He even left me a voicemail at 7pm tonight (on Thanksgiving) to let me know lab results were back on my cat and his recommendations on what to do. After a few rough days with my cat, he's acting like himself tonight and I'm so incredibly grateful that he seems to be feeling better! I've been bringing my cats to Midway for the years and now drive 40 minutes to get there every time, but I wouldn't take them anywhere else, especially after this! I've been bringing my cats here for years and have seen Dr. Lobeck the last few times. He has always been fantastic, but the visits were pretty routine (new kitten visits, a scratched eye, ear infection). Recently, my cat stopped eating and started vomiting. I got in with Dr. Hardee and have been so impressed with this office during my cat's illness! Dr. Hardee was in and out of my cat's room for 1 1/2 hours on my first visit, making sure to explain everything he was doing and why he was recommending it. He called me at 9am the next day to check on my cat and we decided to do subcutaneous fluids, which I went in to see a tech for that day. He also called me back to double check to make sure they could draw more blood at that visit to send off. Then tonight, he called me (on Thanksgiving!) to say he reviewed labs that were abnormal and to call his office first thing in the morning. My cat has improved greatly while I was at work today and although we still have testing to do tomorrow and antibiotics to put him on, I am extremely impressed. I hadn't ever wanted to go to another vet before this, but now there is no way I would take my pets anywhere else. Although this has been far from cheap, I would rather pay for a vet that is thorough and is doing what's best for my pet. Extremely pleased! Read Less

I agree with the other reviewers that prices here are a bit high, but I think you get what you pay for. Last week Monday I called at 8 a.m. and was able to get a 9 a.m. appt for that morning! I'm always able to get appointments whenever I need them and that's really important to me. Dr. Bard is amazing and has taken awesome care of my high maintenance mutt who has allergies. My dog is very shy and not much of a people person and Dr. Bard is really good with her. Dr. Hardee is VERY through and takes time to make sure you understand everything that's going on with your pet. He never rushes you, or makes you feel like he needs to hurry on to the next patient. This is very much appreciated, but just be aware that if you have an appointment with him, he may be running late as he is extending that same courtesy to everyone. My last minute Monday appointment was with Dr. Lobeck. We'd never seen him before, but he too was caring, informative and empathetic.  Front desk staff is AWESOME! Friendly, helpful and considerate. Phones are always answered quickly, even if it's just to ask if you can hold. (Don't know about you, but I appreciate this instead of listening to a phone just ring and ring and ring). We have also had our dog groomed here and she always looks squeaky clean. Have not had any issues that other reviews mentioned. Lastly, I just want to thank everyone (Doctors, Techs, Denise, Mandy, Rachel, and all the front desk staff) for all your kindness and caring with our cats Marlin and Autumn who lived really long lives, but have both passed away within 6 months of each other. Everyone was so great and compassionate to us during those difficult times. I really can't thank you all enough! After moving to Alpharetta I was so worried about finding a vet for my 2 little furry kids that would match the professionalism, level of care, and love for animals that our vet in Decatur had.  I called to interview vets before booking appointments and immediately liked this staff.  We have now been patients of theirs for over a year - 1 dog has had 2 annual visits & the other has only had 1 - but this will be our vet for as long as we are in Alpharetta! :) Read Less

Unbelievable! I brought my baby here for a nail trim and it looked like the barely even touched them! I'm sorry but I'm not looking to bring my dog every week for his nails, especially considering the nail trim by itself was $19.75???? Is that crazy or what??!!! They took him back for 2 minutes, returned him to me with long nails. There was no way it was close to the quik, if you call a little over a centimeter past the quik is short then y'all need to do some rethinking about the groomer! Horrible horrible job! And for the price of 20 dollars??? I got them to refund my money back to me and told them to delete my information cause I'm definitely not going here ever again.. especially considering his full bath would've normally cost 32 dollars, so the if the nail itself is 20 dollars, what kind of a deal is this?? The old groomers I went to in California called Petrock hotel and spa(which I recommend you look then up and learn something from them), never ever disappointed me with any services and prices.. In fact, a nail trim there was only $8 and they did a fantastic job!!! Located on Ventura blvd, extremely busy and rich location, luxurious shop, incredible cute fashion line for your pets, and still was not as expensive as y'all. Which 1. Your store is most definitely not as nice. 2. Your location is horrible! 3. the service was unbelievable disappointing.. After a traumatic experience with an emergency vet, that left our cat in need of further care, we took him to Midway Animal Hospital. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly when I arrived, the vet tech was very gentle with our cat during the initial exam and our experience with Dr. Lobeck was exceptional. He went out of his way to call and update us every morning with the status of our kitty. I really can't say enough how much I appreciated the level of service we received and the prices after our terrible previous experience with another vet. We have several friends who take their pets to this hospital and they have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Hardee and the rest of the staff. We have been going to this vet for a few years now. They are a large office and can usually get us in pretty fast for an appointment. The vets are knowledgeable and the front desk staff is very friendly. Our dog recently passed away and we received a lovely, personal card from the office. We started going here after a nearby vet we were seeing couldn't take an appointment when we had an emergency situation (before we knew about the 24 hour urgent care across the street). They were able to squeeze us in that day and we have being going to them ever since.... for a cheaper price too! Read Less

Overall was fine and as expected. The staff was behaved and appropriate. The doctors and vet assistants were great. The front desk at times leave something to be desired and at times I felt... how can I say it... awkward. This was not consistent though. Our dog was ill and our regular vet didn't have time to see him.  Called Midway, which is actually much closer for us anyway, and they saw him within the hour.  Friendly, fast and good service.  I am frugal, if not cheap so if pricing were lower I would have given 5 stars.  Regardless of that, Midway will be our new Vet office. I recently had to say goodbye to my longtime canine friend, Mandy. Mandy had cancer and eventually began to suffer. I found Midway Animal Hospital 18 months ago and I would never recommend any other veterinarian office. From the Front Office Staff, to the technicians, to each veterinarian on staff, each person there knew Mandy, loved Mandy, and did everything they could to help Mandy and keep her comfortable in the end. On the day we took her in and said goodbye, we had several staff members come in the room to say good bye to Mandy along with us - each of them with tears in their eyes. In Mandy's 12.5 years, I never found a more competent or friendlier office. Extra kudos go out to Dr. Zaleski, Rebecca (vet tech), Chris (vet tech) and Mandy (front office). I received a very nice card in the mail from Dr. Zaleski telling us how sorry she was for our loss and what a sweet dog our Mandy was. That meant so much. If you live near Alpharetta, you will not find a better, more caring veterinary practice than this one. If I could give it more stars I would, but suffice it to say, when I get ready to adopt another dog, this will be my vet of choice. Read Less
