Dr. Jeff Conrad
Before working at The Cat and Dog Clinic, Dr. Conrad worked as an associate veterinarian at Palmdale Veterinary Hospital in Palmdale, California where he treated cats, dogs and exotic pets. Dr. Conrad’s special interests include exotic feline medicine – he and his wife both volunteered at the Feline Conservation Center in Rosamond, California (www.wildcatzoo.org). This facility, which is open to the public, is dedicated to the protection, preservation, and breeding of endangered felines, such as tigers, leopards and jaguars.
Dr. Conrad graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2001, where he was treasurer of the student chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and a member of the Omega Tau Sigma veterinary fraternity. Prior to receiving veterinary training, Dr. Conrad served in the U.S. Air Force for over 13 years as an electronics engineering officer. His tour of duty included assignments at Robins AFB, GA., Norton AFB, Ca., and two assignments at Edwards AFB, Ca. His duties included work on programs such as B-1B bomber, F-15 fighter, and Titan IV launch vehicle. Dr. Conrad and his wife have numerous pets including dogs, desert tortoises and, of course, several cats.
Dr. Conrad strongly believes that keeping pets healthy requires a close, cooperative effort between pet owners and their veterinarian. He looks forward to meeting with owners and helping them care for their pets through better awareness, education, and preventative medicine.
Dr. Kasey Stopp
Dr. Stopp was born in rural Illinois, but spent most of her life in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended the University of Cincinnati where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications. Dr. Stopp went on manage the customer service divisions of several Fortune 500 companies, but her childhood dream of being a veterinarian never died. Because of this, she consistently worked part-time for animal hospitals while pursuing her career in business.
Further inspired by a long-time veterinary mentor, Dr. Stopp returned to school to complete the required classes for application to veterinary school. After a job change relocated her family to Athens, she was accepted to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Stopp has a special interest in integrative medicine – combining the benefits of traditional medicine with complimentary treatments such as chiropractic and acupuncture.
In August of 2013, Dr. Stopp attended Options for Animals College of Chiropractic for advanced training in veterinary chiropractic techniques. After extensive written and practical testing, she was certified in animal chiropractic by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. She plans to pursue certification in veterinary acupuncture, food therapy, and herbal medicine in the near future.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Stopp enjoys hiking, traveling, scuba diving, reading, and trying to keep up with her six year old son. She lives in Athens with her husband, son, and their four rescue dogs.
