Established in 1986, Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs (AHSS) has long supported that bond by providing exceptional veterinary health care and high quality medicine. In 2008, we expanded by building an entirely new medical facility to better meet the needs of our patients and clients. Our new facility was designed with 5 exam rooms, an expanded reception area, and the latest veterinary medical technology, including digital radiography, digital dental radiography & extensive in-house laboratory equipment. Additionally, we renovated our boarding facility and now offer a range of options including high-end boarding with 15 suites and more than 40 cages. We also offer grooming services so that your best friend can go home fresh from boarding or stop in for a clip with a scheduled appointment.

Amazing place! I am 5 stars for this vet. Dr Smith and Amy the vet tech were amazing, kind, compassionate, and down to earth when I had to make a hard decision of saying goodbye to my sweet boy. I am from out of town and they were more that willing to take care of me and my animalChild on such short notice when he became too ill. I can say only good things about them during such a hard time. I wish I could have had them the many years I had My pup. They were wonderful. Can't say enough good things and would recommend for any need for your animals needs.

I see a lot of one stars from people who are complaining about pricing. If you're going to take your dog for a visit for an issue you need to understand it costs. I took my dog here for a dental cleaning and extractions with anesthesia and i was very afraid because of his age. He is ten years old with additions disease so i was nervous. Dr Smith has been nothing but kind and went above and beyond to make sure he was going to be good. She consulted with his primary care doctor about all his blood results and ultrasounds. No other doctor takes the time out of their day to call you personally but she did. These people are busy and take care of a lot of other animals but she personally reached out to me more than 3 times throughout this whole process. Nobody will ever clean his teeth again but her. She was patient and didn't rush me out of her room just to make some money. They care about your dog and will really go above and beyond. My dog is very high maintenance and they really catered to him.

I took my 1 year old cocker spaniel to AHoSS just yesterday evening for his annual vaccinations, and the vet tech Corey and Dr. Smith were wonderful. However, when my Cash had an adverse reaction to the vaccinations today and got severe diarrhea so much so that he soiled himself and the whole floor of his crate, I called to ask if they thought he was ok. A desk clerk ultimately called back to inform me they had some medicine for him and I could pick it up at the front desk.Again, he was just there yesterday evening and this was his very first visit there for $350 worth of vaccinations and flea & tick deterrent, and yet they charged me $56 for the medicine to help the diarrhea. I didn't get to see a vet when I went to pick up the medicine because, as I was told, none was available.When I heard the price of the medicine I asked to speak to someone higher up. After a few minutes I was taken into a room and met by the Office Manager. She just kept saying, like a broken record, that we can't know what caused the diarrhea - it could be stress or he could have ingested something bad outside. I tried to explain that I wasn't upset with AHoSS that he was sick, I didn't feel it was their fault that he had an adverse reaction to vaccines, rather I simply expected, as a brand new patient who had visited less than 24 hours ago, as a courtesy they would comp. the medicine. While speaking over me, the office manager would continue to repeat that we couldn't know what caused his diarrhea. What I cannot figure out if is AHoSS refused to comp. the medicine because it could be perceived as admission of liability for the adverse reaction to vaccines, or if they simply refused to give up what I would guesstimate to be at least $35 of profit they were making in markup off the probiotic. Either way, Cash will no longer be a patient there.

A month ago, I would be giving a 5-star review of this office. However, recent events have made me reconsider. I had been bringing business to AHSS for years, and my father used them before I started. I recommended them to everyone I knew, and faithfully brought my animals up there to be treated. Recently, my partner and I have fallen upon hard times. One of our cats developed a severe abscess on one side of her face. I had every faith that our vet office, which had time and time again showed that they cared about our animals, would work with us. I was not asking for a hand out or charity, I just needed some way of making payments because we couldn't pay all that money up front. Well, aside from suggesting that we apply for a credit card, they couldn't help us. They couldn't be bothered. My poor cat is suffering and they people we had trusted to take care of them turned their back on us. So, I do not recommend them at all. They are only in it for the money, not love of animals.

Easy to develop a good relationship with Dr Ahearn or Dr Wright and they are great about communicating with you during and after visits. Highly recommend them. They also are fair about providing you with other options(like med purchases) when it makes sense.

This is absolutely my favorite animal hospital in the Atlanta area. The vets are awesome and very caring and you don't leave feeling like you just got gouged. My animals don't always have the best time when they go to the vet, until they started going to AHSS, the entire staff is patient with them and they stay in good spirits and don't take 4 days to recover from a visit to the vet anymore! You can tell that the vets at AHSS actually care about animals and their well being here, been looking for that all over Atlanta for years. They also have boarding, which we used the last time we went out of town. My pets did well and actually ate their food while we were out of town. And even more surprising, my cat did not hide in a closet for a week once she got home, which has never happened before. She actually came home and was not stressed over boarding for a few days. Happy pets = happy pet parent.

The women groomer was pleasant but not only did she give a terrible hair cut, but my havanese was an emotional wreck after I picked him up. He cried when I picked him up, had little cuts inside his ears, and slept for 24 hours!This was a month ago, I am writing today because I just gave him a bath and when I got the brush and scissors out to do a little grooming, he started shaking like a leaf and whimpering. He is acting terrified. He is 9 years old and has never behaved this way. Something really bad happened during the 5 hours he was there. Please spread the word!!

Absolutely the BEST veterinarian office and vet we have been too. They care about your animal and not about bringing money in to their office. We were explained things that no other vet explained. This was the 3rd vet we have been too since July 2017. The other 2 just wanted your money!! We will be staying with this vet. Dr. Wright was very caring as was the vet tech and the front desk personnel.We LOVE it here and will continue to come to this office.

This was the best vet experience I've ever had and I've spent years trying to find an exotic animal vet I trusted in the Atlanta area. Typically at vet offices, I feel the appointment is a bit rushed and I've had bad "bedside manner" experiences at other vets in Atlanta. Dr. Ahearn made my appointment time feel valued, she took a lot of time and care in explaining the situation to me and answering my questions. She was very empathetic to my concerns and the normal vet-stress my guinea pigs were having in the appointment. I appreciated how she conveyed realistic optimism on the treatment plan.
Both the vet tech and vet handled my guinea pigs with real care and love. I appreciated the level of attention they gave me as I asked a myriad of questions to understand what was going on. I feel very confident in the level of care they gave and am so relieved to find an exotic vet I trust in Atlanta, finally! I have no reservations in recommending this vet for those with guinea pigs!

The people here are great. My only complaint is that they let their staff's dogs have the run of the building, which is dangerous and a bit unfair to the clients who have non-dog-friendly animals. My dog hates other dogs which I can easily handle when all animals are leashed but coming here made me extremely uneasy because there is nothing I can do about a loose dog running up on her. We won't be returning for that reason, but I wish we could because I really liked the staff and vet.

The people here are great. My only complaint is that they let their staff's dogs have the run of the building, which is dangerous and a bit unfair to the clients who have non-dog-friendly animals. Dr. Wright has cared for my two beagles for eight years and I wouldn't think of taking them anywhere else. She is fantastic! She is very attentive, knowledgeable and really cares about their well-being! Both of my dogs have health issues from seizures to anxiety and Dr. Wright always takes time to thoroughly examine them, answer all of our questions, and explain their conditions in a way that we can understand. It is obvious that she loves animals and is passionate about providing high-quality care. I highly recommend Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs!

I love AHSS. I have known Dr Wright since she first started at AHSS. Dr. Wright helped diagnosis my dog with an odd illness that I will forever be greatful for. She is always very professional with me and my dog. I have never had any negative interactions with any of the techs or Dr.s at AHSS. I drive from Alpharetta to see her and the staff at AHSS. I will continue to use her as my vet as long as I have pets and live in Georgia.

I couldn't ask for a more compassionate vet than Lisa Wright. Both my cat and my dog were 17 years old. She made a special trip to meet me at the clinic on a Sunday afternoon when my cat was screaming in pain. Unfortunately there as nothing she could do for Charcoal. She was so caring toward Charcoal and told me that it was time to put her to sleep. She was just as caring toward my dog. She told me that we would keep an eye on Kayla and that as long as she wasn't in pain we wouldn't worry that she was deaf and all but blind. When it was time for Kayla to be put to sleep Lisa had a room for us to use. Family was there to say goodbye. Lisa was crying as much as the rest of us.
She is now the vet for my new dog Macy. We love her.

There was some confusion regarding the price of our dog's visit; receptionist on the phone said the visit was "$1" as part of a promo. As not new to vet costs, we never thought we would leave the vet only paying one dollar, but with only wanting heartworm pills/check and nail clips, we estimated $125-$150. Big surprise there -- the bill was $258. The main vet, Lisa Wright, was incredibly rude regarding the whole situation, saying: "We can't comp a $500 doctor visit for free." She did admit that the employee we spoke to was new but didnt admit that she did anything wrong, and had zero interest in helping to resolve the misunderstanding. She clealry needs to retrain her employees, and find a better attitude herself because I've never had a doctor smart off to me the way she did. Take your dog somewhere, we sure will.

We volunteer for an animal rescue and constantly have foster animals coming in and out of our house. On top of that we have a number of our own animals. For the last 8 years the Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs has been our veterinarian of choice. The staff is amazing, very helpful. They have always answered all of our questions and emailed us research on illnesses our animals were experiencing. They also encouraged us to seek alternate treatment (acupuncture) for chronic disorders plaguing one cat. We've rushed our elderly pet there a number of times and they have always taken him in immediately to help make him more comfortable.I can't say enough wonderful things about this vet. I don't know how they compare price-wise but I do know that they care about my animals as much as we do - you can't put a price on that.Also, when they can't squeeze our pet in immediately, they will allow us to drop-off and pick-up later so we can return to work.

The doctors and staff at this facility are the most caring I have ever known. Their first priority is the care and heath of your pet. They go above and beyond any other vet we have experienced to make sure your pet gets the care they need. I would not take my pets anywhere else. I know they will be loved and cared for at Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs. I would highly recommed them to anyone looking for an excellent veterinarian.

I had been bringing business to AHSS for years, and my father used them before I started. I recommended them to everyone I knew, and faithfully brought my animals up there to be treated. Recently, my partner and I have fallen upon hard times. One of our cats developed a severe abscess on one side of her face. I had every faith that our vet office, which had time and time again showed that they cared about our animals, would work with us. I was not asking for a hand out or charity, I just needed some way of making payments because we couldn't pay all that money up front. Well, aside from suggesting that we apply for a credit card, they couldn't help us. They couldn't be bothered. My poor cat is suffering and they people we had trusted to take care of them turned their back on us. So, I do not recommend them at all. They are only in it for the money, not love of animals.

Easy to develop a good relationship with Dr Ahearn or Dr Wright and they are great about communicating with you during and after visits. Highly recommend them. They also are fair about providing you with other options(like med purchases) when it makes sense.

This is absolutely my favorite animal hospital in the Atlanta area. The vets are awesome and very caring and you don't leave feeling like you just got gouged. My animals don't always have the best time when they go to the vet, until they started going to AHSS, the entire staff is patient with them and they stay in good spirits and don't take 4 days to recover from a visit to the vet anymore! You can tell that the vets at AHSS actually care about animals and their well being here, been looking for that all over Atlanta for years. They also have boarding, which we used the last time we went out of town. My pets did well and actually ate their food while we were out of town. And even more surprising, my cat did not hide in a closet for a week once she got home, which has never happened before. She actually came home and was not stressed over boarding for a few days. Happy pets = happy pet parent.

The women groomer was pleasant but not only did she give a terrible hair cut, but my havanese was an emotional wreck after I picked him up. He cried when I picked him up, had little cuts inside his ears, and slept for 24 hours!This was a month ago, I am writing today because I just gave him a bath and when I got the brush and scissors out to do a little grooming, he started shaking like a leaf and whimpering. He is acting terrified. He is 9 years old and has never behaved this way. Something really bad happened during the 5 hours he was there. Please spread the word!!

Absolutely the BEST veterinarian office and vet we have been too. They care about your animal and not about bringing money in to their office. We were explained things that no other vet explained. This was the 3rd vet we have been too since July 2017. The other 2 just wanted your money!! We will be staying with this vet. Dr. Wright was very caring as was the vet tech and the front desk personnel.We LOVE it here and will continue to come to this office.

This was the best vet experience I've ever had and I've spent years trying to find an exotic animal vet I trusted in the Atlanta area. Typically at vet offices, I feel the appointment is a bit rushed and I've had bad "bedside manner" experiences at other vets in Atlanta. Dr. Ahearn made my appointment time feel valued, she took a lot of time and care in explaining the situation to me and answering my questions. She was very empathetic to my concerns and the normal vet-stress my guinea pigs were having in the appointment. I appreciated how she conveyed realistic optimism on the treatment plan.
Both the vet tech and vet handled my guinea pigs with real care and love. I appreciated the level of attention they gave me as I asked a myriad of questions to understand what was going on. I feel very confident in the level of care they gave and am so relieved to find an exotic vet I trust in Atlanta, finally! I have no reservations in recommending this vet for those with guinea pigs!

The people here are great. My only complaint is that they let their staff's dogs have the run of the building, which is dangerous and a bit unfair to the clients who have non-dog-friendly animals. My dog hates other dogs which I can easily handle when all animals are leashed but coming here made me extremely uneasy because there is nothing I can do about a loose dog running up on her. We won't be returning for that reason, but I wish we could because I really liked the staff and vet.

She is very attentive, knowledgeable and really cares about their well-being! Both of my dogs have health issues from seizures to anxiety and Dr. Wright always takes time to thoroughly examine them, answer all of our questions, and explain their conditions in a way that we can understand. It is obvious that she loves animals and is passionate about providing high-quality care. I highly recommend Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs!

I love AHSS. I have known Dr Wright since she first started at AHSS. Dr. Wright helped diagnosis my dog with an odd illness that I will forever be greatful for. She is always very professional with me and my dog. I have never had any negative interactions with any of the techs or Dr.s at AHSS. I drive from Alpharetta to see her and the staff at AHSS. I will continue to use her as my vet as long as I have pets and live in Georgia.

I couldn't ask for a more compassionate vet than Lisa Wright. Both my cat and my dog were 17 years old. She made a special trip to meet me at the clinic on a Sunday afternoon when my cat was screaming in pain. Unfortunately there as nothing she could do for Charcoal. She was so caring toward Charcoal and told me that it was time to put her to sleep. She was just as caring toward my dog. She told me that we would keep an eye on Kayla and that as long as she wasn't in pain we wouldn't worry that she was deaf and all but blind. When it was time for Kayla to be put to sleep Lisa had a room for us to use. Family was there to say goodbye. Lisa was crying as much as the rest of us.
She is now the vet for my new dog Macy. We love her.

There was some confusion regarding the price of our dog's visit; receptionist on the phone said the visit was "$1" as part of a promo. As not new to vet costs, we never thought we would leave the vet only paying one dollar, but with only wanting heartworm pills/check and nail clips, we estimated $125-$150. Big surprise there -- the bill was $258. The main vet, Lisa Wright, was incredibly rude regarding the whole situation, saying: "We can't comp a $500 doctor visit for free." She did admit that the employee we spoke to was new but didnt admit that she did anything wrong, and had zero interest in helping to resolve the misunderstanding. She clealry needs to retrain her employees, and find a better attitude herself because I've never had a doctor smart off to me the way she did. Take your dog somewhere, we sure will.

We volunteer for an animal rescue and constantly have foster animals coming in and out of our house. On top of that we have a number of our own animals. For the last 8 years the Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs has been our veterinarian of choice. The staff is amazing, very helpful. They have always answered all of our questions and emailed us research on illnesses our animals were experiencing. They also encouraged us to seek alternate treatment (acupuncture) for chronic disorders plaguing one cat. We've rushed our elderly pet there a number of times and they have always taken him in immediately to help make him more comfortable.I can't say enough wonderful things about this vet. I don't know how they compare price-wise but I do know that they care about my animals as much as we do - you can't put a price on that.Also, when they can't squeeze our pet in immediately, they will allow us to drop-off and pick-up later so we can return to work.

They go above and beyond any other vet we have experienced to make sure your pet gets the care they need. I would not take my pets anywhere else. I know they will be loved and cared for at Animal Hospital of Sandy Springs. I would highly recommed them to anyone looking for an excellent veterinarian.
