DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. I have a 13-week old puppy who started having a seizure last Saturday. This had never happened before, and I was panicked so I rushed her to the closest pet hospital (this location). When I got there, my puppy was convulsing and drooling in my arms. The vet tech took one look at her and informed me that they were closing in 20min and they couldn't help me. They told me to go to a different hospital 15min away. I WAS SHOCKED. These people have taken a Hippocratic Oath! In my desperation, I asked the vet tech if my puppy could die on her way to the other hospital, to which she replied: "I hope not"... She didn't even give me advice on how to keep her safe on the ride to the other hospital, which by the way, was out of a doctor that day! I'm just completely appalled by the whole experience and I hope they shut down this pathetic excuse for a hospital. Shame on you, Banfield! Read Less

Scheduling the appointment was great. The guy on the phone was knowledgeable, upfront about costs and easy to talk to. He asked that I come in 15 minutes before because we were new. When I got there 15 minutes before, the girl seemed confused and said you're here 15 minutes early, we'll call you 2 minutes before your appointment time and shooed me away. We sat down to waste time and just observed. The place seemed dirty, crowded, loud and overall very unwelcoming. I decided that it wasn't the place for us so I kindly told her we'd reschedule and she didn't care. I've been taking my cats (3 of them) to this Banfield for over a decade. Mostly convenience, but also cost; I like the wellness plan option.I want to start by saying that I love Dr. Ricks and Charles. They're both extremely responsive, helpful and kind, and it seems as though they genuinely care about all three of our little guys.I am considering switching to a different vet, though, because of repeated, frustrating incompetence on the part of the rest of the support staff. Three times now they've forgotten to give me medications I've paid for, and I've had to go back to get them after the fact. They lose notes I've given them about my pets' conditions. It seems like nobody remembers when I've been there or notes things down to communicate them to Dr. Ricks or the other vet techs. Most recently, I took one of my cats in to see about a growth, and was told that it had been biopsied and was sent to Blue Pearl for a follow-up consult. They said they'd send the results of the biopsy in advance, but when I got to Blue Pearl, there was no biopsy result available. Blue Pearl called and was told that they hadn't received the results yet. So I paid for the consult visit, called Banfield, and reached Charles (yay, Charles), who told me that they had, in fact, received results, but nobody had told me or sent anything over. So I paid $150 to have Blue Pearl tell me nothing useful because Banfield dropped the ball. Charles is working on fixing it, and I trust him to do so, but the rest of the staff has lost my trust.UPDATE: Nobody knew what I was talking about when I called back to check (two days later), and I never received any communication from Banfield in the interim. This is a frequent occurrence - you call to ask for help and when you call to follow up later, nobody knows what you're talking about. I'm super upset about this, and am actively researching alternative veterinary services for future pet care. Read Less

I've been coming to this location as well as the Decatur location for about 3 years. I was over charged for my wellness plan. I tried calling the hospital as well as customer service. I WARN YOU, there customer service is TERRIBLE!! No one could tell me why/who overcharged me. I politely asked to speak to someone who could help me, and all they could do was give me an email. And of course, I never heard back from anyone. Funny that once I canceled my membership, ONLY THEN, did anyone want to help me.I don't trust anyone who had my CREDIT CARD info and makes charges without my authorization. Then tells me they can't do anything about it. Just go to your local pet hospital. That's what I'm doing. Read Less

I recently moved to the area and when it was time for my dog to get her year vet visit I was in a scramble to find a vet that wont charge me an arm and a leg. I looked into pet insurance etc. and couldn't find a plan I felt was worth the money I would be putting into it monthly. a friend of mine recommended checking into the Banfield hospitals. After learning about their prevention care program (25 a month, free vet visits, free yearly check up items like shots etc, 10% off meds, etc.) I was in! all of the staff has been extremely nice and friendly! I can say that I don't care for the fact that when your furrbabies need their shots or vet attention, they go to a "backroom" where you aren't allowed to go in... I'm assuming that's a Banfield thing and not specific to this location... which is why I gave four stars. OTHERWISE this is the perfect solution to expensive vet care! Read Less

Today I had one of the WORST experience I've ever had with a vet. I've been doing business with this location for 5 years now and I took one of my dogs in for due to having some tick bites from running around outside. So after we get in a room,the assistant ask questions and tells me the vet will be in momentarily. 5mins later Dr. Mia Alphonio walks in and robotically gives her greeting in a way we she's obligated to speak. I ignored it as if she may be tired. The entire time not once looking over to interact while talking to me but rather into her computer. She start spilling out her Prognosis. I interupt as she is rambling on without stopping to clarifying the 6 steps to ensure my dog is healed correctly. The whole conversation was insensitive and rude. Avoid her at all cost. Read Less

My cat has been peeing blood recently. She's been peeing on everything in the house. We took her here the first time and paid $140 to get her antibiotics. Didn't work. My wife made another appointment for today at 11am. We got up, corralled the cat into the carrier, which isn't easy, and drove all the way to Banfield for them to say "Sorry, we don't have her on the schedule." I was sitting next to my wife when she made the appointment. This is maybe the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened. I asked if I could speak with the manager and they said "They're not in today." I said "can I have the name of the manager so I can call them later?" They said no. Don't go here. It's a giant waste of time and money. Read Less

My wife and I have the outmost respect for the staff at Banfield Pet Hospital. We had a cat with several intestinal issues, and we dealt with this medical for over a year. Dr. Alphonso and the rest of the staff was always extremely empathetic to our emotions and gave us the best guidance possible for how to treat our cat. They've gone above and beyond for me and my yorkie. My dog is older and every time we've come in, even on busy days, they're always courteous and respectful to us. When we're visiting a different state, they work with me to make sure my dog has the medications she needs. The last time I took her in, as she has severe skin allergies, they were nothing but compassionate and professional and went beyond what I asked for to make sure my dog was comfortable and healing well. 10/10 would recommend. I have given them a good review in the past but today found that the only thing they can earn FIVE STARS for is their competence in bulls*@&% and hitting you up for more money. To be specific, I gave Dr Onder a good review from my first visit. He answered questions and seemed pretty straight up. It was my dog's first visit with him specifically. Found out that he is a BS artist and ended up charging me twice what he quoted me a month ago. On top of that, he did not remember me nor my dog. When I reminded him of what he said, a month ago, regarding the charges for the next visit, he asked me who I spoke to. "YOU, I spoke with you YOU!!!" Spare yourself the puppy mill mentality. There are too many good vets to spend money with rather than with someone whose word you can't trust. THIS review is not about the money. I love my dog. If she needs tests or treatments, no question she will get them. This is about having confidence that when her caretaker tells me something, I can trust their word and that there are not ulterior motives. Read Less

The vet was 5 minutes or less with my dog, his assistant came out with a treatment option that I did not wanted on my dog (amitraz dip) only recommended in a generalized condition and not in puppies because is too toxic. I asked several times for another treatment option and she refuses to offer another or to ask the vet. The next day after a bad review and a complain with the manager they offer another treatment option. The one they offer was the most expensive one and fluralaner, the one I got at the end (best one for my pet) was not sold by them, that's why they don't recommend it Read Less

Yoshi & Zoe have been clients since they were babies in New Orleans.  These two R well trvld & here in ATL we've finally decided that Dr. Ricks was our favorite.  This is the hospital that found Yoshi w/ his heart condition.  Since the discovery, I cannot complain about the care he's received.  They kept Watch of his condition w/ ck-ups and X-Rays.  Of course the older he's getting, the treatments may change; inevitable.  11/2016 - Dr. Ricks recommended to get a precise diagnosis, Yoshi will need a Cardiac UltraSound.  Of course he gave me options w/ going outside of Banfield or if I wanted his staff to find a doctor w/i the local commuting area.  Since there wasn't an available doctor w/ Banfield @ that moment, Dr. Ricks' staff did produce recommendations and also handed me a Banfield POC to call.  They did advise that external providers would charge $600++ for the procedure so I tried my chances w/ the Banfield POC.  No luck until March 2017.  3/2017 - We strolled into PetSmart in Alpharetta & decided to visit w/ their staff.  Needless to say, they gave us another Banfield POC and was able to get an appt two wks later.  The results from the Banfield in Fayetteville was delivered to Dr. Ricks w/i 4D.  We have to pick up a new Rx to add to Yoshi's regiment, but, it will be for a Wk only then we go back for a ck-up.  All in all, I'm highly appreciative of the care they provide & my FurKids R living passed their average ages & that makes my heart smile. They were able to fit us into their schedule, which prevented me from having to take her to an emergency vet. Though, I will say I was skeptical given the previous reviews. However, Dr. Alphonso was great and very understanding of my financial situation. She helped my girl as much as she could, a fact I did not want to go unnoticed. The front desk staff could see I was quite upset at pick up (I had been crying) and were very sensitive and sweet, definitely good customer service in my option.Read Less

Banfield Hospital doesn't care about animals. Their website says that Saturday hours are 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. My mini dachshund had a ruptured gland on her rear which was painful and looked dreadful. I got to the hospital at 5:40, waited (actually, I was ignored) at the desk for 8 minutes until I finally called out for service. I was told that they "weren't taking walk-ins". I asked them what time they stopped taking walk-ins and seems there was no set policy. I said, your website says you're open til 6:00 and it isn't 6:00 yet. They just said "sorry" --really rude and uncaring as if I had a lot of nerve bringing in my sick dog during their office hours. They didn't even ask what was wrong with my dog (in my arms) but said try an emergency clinic. The Atlanta Pet Rescue volunteer in front of PetsMart told me that Pets are People Too is closeby. I went there and Anabelle was treated within minutes. I'm moving here from Florida and will NEVER take my dogs to Banfield (had similar bad experiences in Florida with this franchise). Okay guys. Your dog isn't the most important dog in the world. People seem to think these doctors should be way nicer than the ones on your HMO. Well my HMO sucks and the doctors here were way nicer than anything I get personally. I signed up for the wellness plan at a different location, and I am so glad I got it. My dog got stung by a bee and his little face started puffing up like crazy. I brought him in, they grabbed him and took him to the back room. They handled him right away, which I like, but they didn't tell me what was going on. After a while they came out and my dog was calm and happy and the swell went away. They tried to up sell me on medicine, but admitted Benadryl works as well (I appreciated the honesty). I went a few weeks later for a standard check up and made an appointment and got up set when I had to wait. Only to find out there was a dog there that got attacked by another. It was in bad shape as it left and some lady got ticked when they called my dog next. Sorry lady, there's a dog in behind us with open cuts and is clearly in pain. He goes in front of your obnoxious poodle who sneezed once two days ago (clearly nothing wrong with it). That's the rule. Bleeding animal in obvious pain > loud, dumb poodle. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. I have a 13-week old puppy who started having a seizure last Saturday. This had never happened before, and I was panicked so I rushed her to the closest pet hospital (this location). When I got there, my puppy was convulsing and drooling in my arms. The vet tech took one look at her and informed me that they were closing in 20min and they couldn't help me. They told me to go to a different hospital 15min away. I WAS SHOCKED. These people have taken a Hippocratic Oath! In my desperation, I asked the vet tech if my puppy could die on her way to the other hospital, to which she replied: "I hope not"... She didn't even give me advice on how to keep her safe on the ride to the other hospital, which by the way, was out of a doctor that day! When I got there 15 minutes before, the girl seemed confused and said you're here 15 minutes early, we'll call you 2 minutes before your appointment time and shooed me away. We sat down to waste time and just observed. The place seemed dirty, crowded, loud and overall very unwelcoming. I've been taking my cats (3 of them) to this Banfield for over a decade. Mostly convenience, but also cost; I like the wellness plan option.I want to start by saying that I love Dr. Ricks and Charles. They're both extremely responsive, helpful and kind, and it seems as though they genuinely care about all three of our little guys.I am considering switching to a different vet, though, because of repeated, frustrating incompetence on the part of the rest of the support staff. Three times now they've forgotten to give me medications I've paid for, and I've had to go back to get them after the fact. They lose notes I've given them about my pets' conditions. It seems like nobody remembers when I've been there or notes things down to communicate them to Dr. Ricks or the other vet techs. Most recently, I took one of my cats in to see about a growth, and was told that it had been biopsied and was sent to Blue Pearl for a follow-up consult. They said they'd send the results of the biopsy in advance, but when I got to Blue Pearl, there was no biopsy result available. Blue Pearl called and was told that they hadn't received the results yet. So I paid for the consult visit, called Banfield, and reached Charles (yay, Charles), who told me that they had, in fact, received results, but nobody had told me or sent anything over. So I paid $150 to have Blue Pearl tell me nothing useful because Banfield dropped the ball. Charles is working on fixing it, and I trust him to do so, but the rest of the staff has lost my trust.UPDATE: Nobody knew what I was talking about when I called back to check (two days later), and I never received any communication from Banfield in the interim. This is a frequent occurrence - you call to ask for help and when you call to follow up later, nobody knows what you're talking about. I'm super upset about this, and am actively researching alternative veterinary services for future pet care. Read Less

I WARN YOU, there customer service is TERRIBLE!! No one could tell me why/who overcharged me. I politely asked to speak to someone who could help me, and all they could do was give me an email. And of course, I never heard back from anyone. Funny that once I canceled my membership, ONLY THEN, did anyone want to help me.I don't trust anyone who had my CREDIT CARD info and makes charges without my authorization. I looked into pet insurance etc. and couldn't find a plan I felt was worth the money I would be putting into it monthly. a friend of mine recommended checking into the Banfield hospitals. After learning about their prevention care program (25 a month, free vet visits, free yearly check up items like shots etc, 10% off meds, etc.) I was in! all of the staff has been extremely nice and friendly! I can say that I don't care for the fact that when your furrbabies need their shots or vet attention, they go to a "backroom" where you aren't allowed to go in... I'm assuming that's a Banfield thing and not specific to this location... which is why I gave four stars. OTHERWISE this is the perfect solution to expensive vet care! Read Less

So after we get in a room,the assistant ask questions and tells me the vet will be in momentarily. 5mins later Dr. Mia Alphonio walks in and robotically gives her greeting in a way we she's obligated to speak. I ignored it as if she may be tired. The entire time not once looking over to interact while talking to me but rather into her computer. She start spilling out her Prognosis. I interupt as she is rambling on without stopping to clarifying the 6 steps to ensure my dog is healed correctly. The whole conversation was insensitive and rude. Avoid her at all cost. Read Less

My wife made another appointment for today at 11am. We got up, corralled the cat into the carrier, which isn't easy, and drove all the way to Banfield for them to say "Sorry, we don't have her on the schedule." I was sitting next to my wife when she made the appointment. This is maybe the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened. I asked if I could speak with the manager and they said "They're not in today." I said "can I have the name of the manager so I can call them later?" They said no. Don't go here. It's a giant waste of time and money. Read Less

I have given them a good review in the past but today found that the only thing they can earn FIVE STARS for is their competence in bulls*@&% and hitting you up for more money. To be specific, I gave Dr Onder a good review from my first visit. He answered questions and seemed pretty straight up. It was my dog's first visit with him specifically. Found out that he is a BS artist and ended up charging me twice what he quoted me a month ago. On top of that, he did not remember me nor my dog. When I reminded him of what he said, a month ago, regarding the charges for the next visit, he asked me who I spoke to. "YOU, I spoke with you YOU!!!" Spare yourself the puppy mill mentality. There are too many good vets to spend money with rather than with someone whose word you can't trust. THIS review is not about the money. I love my dog. If she needs tests or treatments, no question she will get them. The vet was 5 minutes or less with my dog, his assistant came out with a treatment option that I did not wanted on my dog (amitraz dip) only recommended in a generalized condition and not in puppies because is too toxic. I asked several times for another treatment option and she refuses to offer another or to ask the vet. The next day after a bad review and a complain with the manager they offer another treatment option. The one they offer was the most expensive one and fluralaner, the one I got at the end (best one for my pet) was not sold by them, that's why they don't recommend it Read Less

Yoshi & Zoe have been clients since they were babies in New Orleans.  These two R well trvld & here in ATL we've finally decided that Dr. Ricks was our favorite.  This is the hospital that found Yoshi w/ his heart condition.  Since the discovery, I cannot complain about the care he's received.  They kept Watch of his condition w/ ck-ups and X-Rays.  Of course the older he's getting, the treatments may change; inevitable.  11/2016 - Dr. Ricks recommended to get a precise diagnosis, Yoshi will need a Cardiac UltraSound.  Of course he gave me options w/ going outside of Banfield or if I wanted his staff to find a doctor w/i the local commuting area.  Since there wasn't an available doctor w/ Banfield @ that moment, Dr. Ricks' staff did produce recommendations and also handed me a Banfield POC to call.  They did advise that external providers would charge $600++ for the procedure so I tried my chances w/ the Banfield POC.  No luck until March 2017.  3/2017 - We strolled into PetSmart in Alpharetta & decided to visit w/ their staff.  Needless to say, they gave us another Banfield POC and was able to get an appt two wks later.  The results from the Banfield in Fayetteville was delivered to Dr. Ricks w/i 4D.  We have to pick up a new Rx to add to Yoshi's regiment, but, it will be for a Wk only then we go back for a ck-up.  All in all, I'm highly appreciative of the care they provide & my FurKids R living passed their average ages & that makes my heart smile. They were able to fit us into their schedule, which prevented me from having to take her to an emergency vet. Though, I will say I was skeptical given the previous reviews. However, Dr. Alphonso was great and very understanding of my financial situation. She helped my girl as much as she could, a fact I did not want to go unnoticed. Banfield Hospital doesn't care about animals. Their website says that Saturday hours are 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. My mini dachshund had a ruptured gland on her rear which was painful and looked dreadful. I got to the hospital at 5:40, waited (actually, I was ignored) at the desk for 8 minutes until I finally called out for service. I was told that they "weren't taking walk-ins". I asked them what time they stopped taking walk-ins and seems there was no set policy. I said, your website says you're open til 6:00 and it isn't 6:00 yet. They just said "sorry" --really rude and uncaring as if I had a lot of nerve bringing in my sick dog during their office hours. They didn't even ask what was wrong with my dog (in my arms) but said try an emergency clinic. The Atlanta Pet Rescue volunteer in front of PetsMart told me that Pets are People Too is closeby. I went there and Anabelle was treated within minutes. I'm moving here from Florida and will NEVER take my dogs to Banfield (had similar bad experiences in Florida with this franchise). Okay guys. Your dog isn't the most important dog in the world. People seem to think these doctors should be way nicer than the ones on your HMO. Well my HMO sucks and the doctors here were way nicer than anything I get personally. I signed up for the wellness plan at a different location, and I am so glad I got it. My dog got stung by a bee and his little face started puffing up like crazy. I brought him in, they grabbed him and took him to the back room. They handled him right away, which I like, but they didn't tell me what was going on. After a while they came out and my dog was calm and happy and the swell went away. They tried to up sell me on medicine, but admitted Benadryl works as well (I appreciated the honesty). I went a few weeks later for a standard check up and made an appointment and got up set when I had to wait. Only to find out there was a dog there that got attacked by another. It was in bad shape as it left and some lady got ticked when they called my dog next. Sorry lady, there's a dog in behind us with open cuts and is clearly in pain. He goes in front of your obnoxious poodle who sneezed once two days ago (clearly nothing wrong with it). That's the rule. Bleeding animal in obvious pain > loud, dumb poodle.
