Our 2 dogs (Brady and Piper) have been to this location multiple times recently and we always leave feeling a sense of peace and are confident with how our dogs were treated. Yesterday Brady had a toe amputated and he was treated with the most excellent care. They were informative about his treatment and recovery. They have made many accommodations to my wife and I as we have needed to drop the dogs off before they are officially open in order to get to work at a reasonable hour. I cannot rave about this animal hospital enough. Dr. Ewing and her team are incredible, personable, and treat your animal as if they were their own babies. I have been coming here about a year from a different vet and was so disappointed with my previous vet's treatment and service. Immediately I felt at ease and never felt as though this office was over charging or over-diagnosing me. I took my dog, Poppy in yesterday to be spayed, have a hernia removed, AND have 6 teeth extracted and was insanely nervous. Dr. Shannon dried my tears and not only assured me that Poppy would be okay, but her incredible front desk team called me every step of the way at work to keep me posted on how she was doing. When I picked her up she was doing so well, and her team informed me of the whole process and loved on my girl so well. We rescued a puppy, and and this was the vet affiliated with the rescue's neuter, rabies and microchip. We scheduled an appointment for 8:00 a.m., and on that day, our puppy didn't start his procedure until 2:00 p.m. to prioritize "their clients." Only one of those clients was an emergency procedure. I thought keeping our 3 month old puppy waiting, away from his family for 6 hours unnecessarily was extremely unprofessional. We were told he could be picked up by 3, and because they delayed so long, he wasn't available until 4:30.Our puppy was traumatized by the time I picked him up, and I know it had to do with how long he had been kept waiting. I've been to this store twice and both time, I got bad service. The first time, the lady got mad for me asking questions about the food prices. This last time I went, another lady greeted me, and automatically gave me a bad attitude. I came for dog treats and left with none because of the way she talked to me like I was dumb. I was hesitant about leaving my last vet but we moved recently and the drive hasn't got a bit long, but this place is amazing!! I found it through Yelp because it is super close to my house and I am so glad I did! I took my dog Sadie there when she started limping and they were so awesome with her! They took x-rays and found out that she completely tore her ACL! I had SO many questions and they were so patient and answered them all. They recommended the surgery to take place at Northlake Veterinary Surgery (I am so happy about that place too!!) and a couple days after the appointment they called me just to see how Sadie was doing!!! Just moved to Atlanta from Savannah. The staff were friendly and took extra time to make myself and my dog feel comfortable. My dog has anxiety issues and Shannon the vet took the time to work with my dog to help alleviate much of his anxiety during his visit. They also referred me to a dog trainer in town and did all of the leg work getting the paperwork from my old vet and sending it to the trainer. I can't say enough about how great they were. The staff at this animal hospital are very friendly, especially Dr. Shannon Ewing. It was my first time visiting them on a Tuesday and they took good care of Teddy, my 2-3 year old shih tzu/terrier mix, who I only adopted 3 weeks prior. He got his tartar removed and recovered from his anesthesia pretty quickly after the first day. I dropped him off at 8am and was able to pick him up at 3pm. His dental cleaning didn't require any extractions, just a good clean to remove tartar so that was $330 - to give other dog owners an idea of the cost (but I'm sure the price differs based on dog and level of dental work required). Keep in mind your pup's mouth may be sore and not chew very well. I had to moisten his dry kibbles so he could finish his dinner more easily that day. Dr. Ewing recommended I only feed him half his meal when we got home and then if he kept it down for an hour, give him the other half later.I'm still researching our primary vet for Teddy, but if this location was closer to Buckhead then I would definitely come back here! What's even better, Dr. Ewing was understanding and even recommended another vet closer to us (Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital)! She really wants what's best for our furry friends, even if that means having to recommend another practice. And that's what I love in vets who really care about animals - they put the animals first. :) Read Less

We started taking our dog to Dr. Ewing after being referred by a friend, and her recommendation was completely accurate. Shannon and her staff are fantastic. Our dog has a genetic eye condition, and Shannon referred us to a specialist to diagnose his problem. I was expecting a hefty bill from this, but instead, we received superb, honest care from both Dr. Ewing and the specialist's staff at a fraction of what I was expecting to pay. We'd do anything for our dog's health, but it is nice to have a veterinarian who will be honest about treatments rather than jacking up the vet bill with unnecessary items -- I've experienced that a few times in the past. Shannon and her team are kind and compassionate. We've brought him in unscheduled for several concerns -- in fact, last week our dog was really sick with diarrhea, and Dr. Ewing was constantly available for my questions and concerns. This is a great practice and a great Vet and Staff.  I really should give them 5 stars but they would either need to be right around the corner from me or come to my house for that!  In other words, their location isn't particularly convenient to me and that is certainly not their fault.  I've had many dogs in my life and know what a good Vet is versus one who doesn't care so much and I can say without hesitation, Dr Ewing knows her stuff and spends the appropriate amount of time with you getting to understand your dog's specific issues.  I never feel rushed or having to put up with a lack of attention at this practice.  I have no hesitation recommending her! Located in the Howell Mill Village Shopping Center on Collier Road off Howell Mill and I-75. (Lower level below Publix).  Collier Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital providing medical, surgical, dental, and wellness care to dogs and cats.Dr. Ewing and her staff were pleasant to deal with and appreciative of my many inquisitive questions - being my 1st visit. My 12 yr old female Bombay was seen for an annual wellness exam. Dr. Ewing was careful to explain each step of the exam - including preparing me for the loud level of protest that would be heard as the Bombay's anal glands were expressed!  Talk about a fun time!I especially liked the fact that Dr. Ewing and her assistant Kaamilya were gentle in handling my Bombay and did not over-handle or try and forcibly restrain my Bombay unless it was absolutely required. In addition, I liked how Kaamilya carefully walked me through a demonstration of how to pill an animal so that I could perform the procedure at home on my own with no difficulties.This location is convenient, easy to find.
