I'm not normally one to write reviews here. I usually just get on with things after a bad experience and accept that people make mistakes. But, since my dog has been needlessly suffering because of these mistakes, I'm venting. We've been to East Atlanta Animal Clinic 4 times now. 1 time for a wellness check for our cat and 3 times with our dog. All 3 times with the dog (border/aussie mix) were because of her knees which we thought might need repair given that she would sit side saddle and limp after playing. Every time we've gone, the front staff have been friendly and helpful yet we've also had different vets for every visit.Vet 1: The first time we took our dog in our experience was okay. The vet and vet tech were prompt, helpful, and after telling us her knees were bad (which we knew) told us to take glucosamine...a reasonable suggestion which we still do.Vet 2: The second time our experience was slightly worse after our dog hurt herself while merely walking. Our vet and vet tech were prompt and after telling us our dog's knees were bad (again, we knew this...) told us to take a puppy-ibuprofen and give her couch rest, which we did. While this was a frustrating outcome since we knew our dog's knees were really bad but had no idea just how bad, the thought of puppy-ibuprofen as a remedy was silly to me. But, I didn't want to be the ever-questioning patient demanding services I'm not sure are necessary. So, we gave the pooch more pills and hoped that would make her pain go away long enough for her knees to heal.Vet 3: This last time, however, our dog could barely put any weight on her knees and we were certain that one or both of her hind knees were shot. We came in for our visit shortly after the new year and were shown into a room where we literally waited for over an hour before anyone came in. I accept that after the new year, they may have been understaffed in the back, but waiting for over an hour in a small room with your gimpy, very-much-in-pain dog was ridiculous. A simple pop-in to appologize for the wait, explain they're running behind and will get to us as quickly as possible would have gone a long, long way. Finally, the vet tech came in, followed by another 10-15 minute wait for the vet. The vet came in, took 5-ish minutes to listen to us, told us our dogs knees were swollen and bad (yes, we know!) and took her back finally for xrays. We were told that it would take 30 mins and to wait up front. Instead, it took over an hour for the xrays to be done until the vet tech came out, gave us a CD copy of the scan, and a bag of pills that he clearly didn't know what were for. My wife, a doctor, was livid that the vet would put the responsibility of explaining medication to a patient on a vet tech. It's not their job to understand medication. After explaining he didn't know what the medication was for, he said he'd have the vet call us back to answer our questions. 4 days later, after calling back to ask if anyone would follow up, she finally called back.Meanwhile we were told that our dog's reference to the surgery center was forwarded on. However, after waiting a week to hear from anyone, we finally called the surgery center who informed me that they did not have the reference. I angrily called back EAAC (again, which is not like me) and asked them to resend the reference. I don't know who's fault this last mistake was, but the insane wait and horrendous communication that we got from EAAC on our last visit does not give me a lot of faith that it wasn't their fault. So yes, our last visit was terrible. But we're still EAAC patients, for now. However, we'll consider our options in the future and certainly make sure to avoid our last vet. Oh, and our dog's knees are still bad and she can barely walk... Read Less
