I just started going to Dr. Kelly Warner in the past few months and she has done an exceptional job with my dog.  My fur-baby is my entire life and it is SO REASSURING to go to a vet who values him as much as I do!  My dog has been experiencing some pain and Dr. Warner was able to identify the cause of that pain even though it wasn't easy to pinpoint.  She has been helping us both by managing his pain and putting my very worried mind at ease.  While his issue may not be something that can be fixed, I know that he will not suffer at any point because Dr. Warner truly cares about his well being.  Even when I struggled financially, she found a way to take care of him and make sure that he was okay. This is by far the only vet that I trust with my Gracie. After multiple others, and a string of bad results with one in the area, I decided to switch to this clinic. My first visit was with Dr. Beer, and she is amazingly kind and understanding. She listened to all my concerns, and actually got Gracie started on the right path of treatment. She's offered me alternatives, consulted other vets, and done everything she could to make sure Gracie was being treated for the actual underlying condition. If it weren't for her, I highly doubt I'd have my baby any more. Another nod to the veterinary stock/RN. I think his name is Tyler? He's fantastic. Gracie's allergy medication is crazy expensive, but they always try to see what can be done. In fact, every single person at Paces Ferry Vet has been above and beyond awesome. This is by far the best vet I have ever taken my pup to in the almost 6 years of her life and the four states we have lived in. friendly, clean, inviting.  The vets and vet techs are so incredibly kind and pay attention to your pets and treat them as their own. They were so thorough on investigating and treating for the correct thing rather than just listening to owners symptoms and handing over a bottle of pills. I was a little bit nervous bringing my young puppy to a new Vet, but I was new to town and wanted to find a local place in case of emergencies. As soon as I walked in, I could tell this was a quality location. Many of the owners who came in and out while I waited were positive and happy to be there, and most seemed to be regulars. As I walked back, the team took care of my dog and were friendly, open, and willing to answer my questions. The location was clean, and the staff was aware of the individual dogs' needs. For example, they took care of a dog that was a bit unfriendly to others, and were open about the situation and held all other dogs in the common area until that dog was secure. They cared for the safety of all animals, and I really appreciated that kindness. I have gone back a few times, and will continue to go back as long as I am in the area. My sweet dog does not do well at the vets office. She has a lot of anxiety just walking through the door. I am very protective of my labradoodle, Henry, and I can honestly say that Paces Ferry Vet has made me feel so comfortable bringing my pup to see them. I'm really glad I found them after moving to the area, and was very sad when I moved out of the area because I wasn't sure I'd be able to use them. However, I am happy to say I am continuing to use them and they are still the best vet I've been to. It's hard to find genuine vets that don't try to take advantage of your love for your pet, but Paces is the real deal. I've only met Dr. Whittle (he's the bomb btw) but I'd be comfortable with any of the docs there. Read Less

We've lived in 3 states and this is by far our favorite vet ever. I feel so comfortable bringing our pups here. One of our pups got diagnosed to a cancerous tumor last year and Paces took such good care of him.  We caught it early and Dr Warner was able to cut the cancer out. He's been healthy ever since. The vets here are top notch. They care deeply about their patients and take great care in explaining options to pet owners. The facility is tucked away in Vinnings so finding the place will may require some second guessing on your first trip. The clinic is modern and more than adequate. Staff is great and truly in love with animals of all kinds. Pros: - Staff is personable, kind, animal lovers - clinic is clean and modern - Doctors are very good - Busy but not hard to get appointment (and minimal wait times upon arrival) Cons: - You won't find "country doctor" prices here. I've been coming to this vet office for over a year now and have been very satisfied.  I have small and mostly healthy dog so we don't have much experience with sick visits.  I have not had any issues to date with making appointments.  The is always parking available out front. They don't have a pet relief station out front which is annoying. Remember to bring a poop bag with you.  Front desk staff are pretty friendly, not super attentive but friendly.  I've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes. The vet techs have all been nice and informative.  Dr Warner is quick and to the point which I can appreciate. I took off one star because I do feel like the prices are pretty expensive for well visits/preventative services. I paid over $300 for a year supply of flea and heart worm medication. I did get a rebate on one. I was offered extensive preventative services which thankfully I researched in advance.  I recommend you do your research before going to any vet.  The service here is awesome so I will keep coming back. I will never go to another vet as long as I have pets. I met Dr. Merritt just a few days ago when my boston terrier started having seizures. Unfortunately, we had to put him down. Dr. Merritt came in on her day off to be with us and put him to sleep. She was incredibly empathetic and you could tell that it really hurt her to see us suffering. She made it a little easier to do what we had to do to help our dog. We will never forget that or be able to really thank her for what she did for us in that terrible time. I took my dog, Grizzly, to them in an emergency situation. I was at my wit's end trying to find someone who could work with me to get Grizzly the surgery he needed to remove an obstruction in his small intestine. The second I called Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic, they made the process easier than I could have imagined. Within a matter of hours, they had Grizzly in surgery. I can't imagine what would've happened if the staff hadn't been so lovely and accommodating. I can't praise them enough for everything they've done for me today. Dr. Warner was so gently and kind and caring with Jax. Alyssa* went over and beyond for me even before I went to the appointment. When we arrived, she looked Jax like one of her own, was very informative and make Jax feel so comfortable. His anxiety is bad, and she comforted him, and loved him and made him feel safe. When I had to leave for work, I knew he was in good hands and didnt have any worries. VERY nice and sweet. They really took the time to help my Mocha bear. The doctor seems to know what she's doing and made sure to answer all my questions. I did not feel rushed at any point either and everyone loved Mocha :) they even gave her water when she was thirsty. My only issues are 1) it's expensive BUT you get what you pay for and they really were great 2) mocha was prescribed something to rule something out and I'm just not a fan of that kind of technique of finding the problem. That's more of a jab at current veterinary science and not this place though. Notes: - Staff is so wonderfully friendly - They are very much about getting your dog on a heartworm preventative - They were very helpful with trying to squeeze me into the day last minute. My kitties are getting older.  They have more needs now than before.  We've been struggling to maintain a veterinarian that is close that we like.  One of my cats became very ill, so I leaned on Yelp to help my ailing kitty.  This brought me to Paces Ferry Vet Clinic.I had an appointment in the morning with Dr. Mackey.  I've read some reviews saying this isn't really a cat office.  Mostly dog people.  That initially disheartened me, but one of the vet techs informed me that Dr. Mackey is a cat person!  A cat person she was.  When she examined my buddy Meegs, she was very sweet.  She was also very informative about treatment and clear with instructions.Fast forward to two weeks later, Meegs is bright eyed, bushy tailed again, back to his old self and nearing the end of his treatment.  Dr. Mackey personally called me to check in on him, which I have NEVER experienced from a vets office.Paces Ferry Vet Clinic will now and forever be my go to for my cats. If you would like to be scammed at every turn, then by all means this is the veterinary clinic for you. We took our dog in for a heartworm test, (which they up-charged with a fecal test that was unnecessary) to be able to fill our pet meds prescription. Our dog was already on a year supply of heartworm prevention, but we had to pay $100 to find out not-so-surprisingly that he still does not have heartworms. I had already reordered the medicine from 1-800-pet-meds before going in to the vet. We asked them to fill out the prescription and send it to pet meds. They refused. So I had to mail in the prescription and wait another week for my dog's medicine. A week later Pet Meds calls and says the vet filled the prescription for only 6 months, not the 12 months I had already ordered, and then also wrote the prescription for the most expensive version of this medicine. So pet meds was going to fill what the vet prescribed. I asked them to put it on hold. I called the vet and asked them to call pet meds and agree that the 12 month (lower cost) version would be fine, and they refused again because they do not do business with pet meds but this is after they had just gotten off the phone with pet meds. So I then had to go pick up a SECOND prescription from the office because they refuse to make a 2 minute phone call to pet meds, and then mail it again to pet meds. This endeavor for my dogs medicine turned into a month long process that should have been a simple phone call from this vet the same day my dog was proven to be heartworm free. Read Less

There are not enough words to express how amazing this Veterinary Clinic is. My dog had to have surgery on his throat, something I was very nervous about. The doctors took time to talk to me and answer all of my (sometimes overly protective) questions. Everyone was so patient and made us feel special and safe from the moment we stepped into the door. On top of having an amazing staff, I did not feel like I was price gouged. Some vets you feel like the nickel and dime you, not this owner, I actually feel like he went out of his way to make things more affordable for us. Since my dog has had surgery, the vet has called several times just to check up on him! The level of service we have received is just outstanding, I just cannot even put into words how thankful I am that I walked into their office. Dr. Merritt is wonderful!  I'm new to the area and came to establish care for my two little Morkies.  After reading the Yelp reviews here, I couldn't be any happier with my decision to take my kids here.  The exam of my dogs was comprehensive, and actually one of the best and most thorough that I have ever experienced.  Front staff was nice, and the entire facility was clean.  What I liked is that there's a back exit to take your pets through so that you don't disturb the pets waiting up front, a small detail but makes a big difference! I love Paces Ferry Vet Clinic! Our little chihuahua is less than 4 lbs and I've never had a dog that small before. I had lots of questions about how much she should be eating, when to get her spayed, and what is normal exercise for her. Dr. Merritt was so great! I never felt rushed out of there and she answered every question on my list (yes, I brought an actual list!) I felt very at ease and because she also has a small dog, I felt she could really address my questions and concerns more fully. And the front desk staff took care of me quickly and with a great attitude. I am a 'dog man' and i have been to several vets in the city... i had opportunity to visit this vet by recommendation of a friend for a rescue puppy we were helping. what a courteous and thoughtful and loving staff! let alone the vet himself, dr. whittle was the man! Everyone was wonderful and sweet and made this dogs first visit to the vet a great one. also, the office was immaculately clean and up to date. and, i noticed a lot of *sharing* of information and techniques between the vet and the techs... like it was a really positive environment for learning and promotion of wellness. that is all. :) Read Less
