I would give them 0 stars if possible. The vet is not only highly over priced, but they also blame you for any mistakes they make, charging more for replacement items or something to help fix a problem they caused. This is SCARY when it has to do with surgery on your pet. They also won't help to get my pet regular prescriptions (heartguard) unless it is paid for in their office, where it's 4x the cost as Chewy.com. GO ELSEWHERE. The bedside manner here is amazing! Dr. DeLong answered every question of mine all while giving my 10 year old dog the most thorough checkup. Had a great first visit to PetWell with my new pup. Over the phone prior to my visit, the staff were super transparent about what my pup would need and the costs of these services. Once we arrived, the up-front staff were super friendly and the office was well-kept. We love this place! I've taken my puppy to get her puppy shots here and they were so great. The vet and techs get down on the floor and play with her, and are very involved in the process. They told us the price up front and were very honest about everything. We have seen Dr. Delong both times, and she was so kind and helpful. I came for my first visit and I must say that it was great. I set up an appointment online and was immediately called back by the receptionist who was very pleasant. She was able to book me for the same day and even offered to call my previous vet to get my dogs info. Upon arrival, she was nice in person and went the extra mile to help me obtain his records. (Somehow I left them at home.) The vets assistant was nice and my dog loved her. She was very informative and went above and beyond to accommodate us. Dr. Berger was very nice and informative. My almost 12 year old golden doodle suddenly started loosing interest in food. He dropped 25 lbs. Dr Berger and Dr DeLong diagnosed him and referred him for surgery back in March He's now back to normal. Just this week he had another unrelated surgery and he's doing great. I brought both of my dogs in for shots this morning and was very pleased with how incredibly patient the staff was. I had several questions regarding services for both of my dachshunds. Dr. B and staff are the best. We couldn't be more happy. Dr. B removed a benign tumor from our dog last summer and it healed beautifully. Two weeks ago I found a dog walking in the breakdown lane of I75 in South GA. We weren't sure if she was pregnant or ill and Dr. B really took a sincere interest in her well-being. It ended up that she was very ill and who knows if she would've survived if Dr. B hadn't taken it so seriously. The entire staff has been wonderful and supportive through what was a very stressful time for both myself and our new fur kid. Helpie my second baby with Dr  Berger (and now Dr DeLong too). We love them both! The first time I brought my last Lab, George, Dr B plunked down on the floor next to him and they were instantly friends.When it was time for the hard decisions with George, Dr Berger was caring and kind and patient, and very responsive to my multiple emails (even as he head his own family emergency). Went to PetWell with my Boxer that was vomiting blood. I arrived at opening, 8am on the dot. I was one of only 2 people in lobby. I do not understand the negative reviews. Yes, they are expensive, but the comfort and level of care you get is worth it. My dog got sick last week and Dr. Berger emailed me all weekend. I've dropped over $1,000 on vet bills to have my home vet (all the way in Spain) solve my dog's allergy problem through the phone- no need for expensive allergy and stool exams. He recommended me to change his dry food to the hypoallergenic from Royal Canin and it's been the best Charlie has been since I picked him up at the shelter. I have never experienced my dog being removed from me for regular care. When a persistent limp needed to be addressed I felt like the long road was taken for my dog. One xray seemed pretty darn conclusive but he insisted the limp was due to something else. Then more expensive diagnostic tests and treatments none of which improved the issue for her. Throughout he didn't even doubt his course and he would never concede even the smallest point. He recommended yet another treatment...for a boatload more money. I don't begrudge anyone making a good living but yikes, they are super expensive. Ultimately I am really dissapointed in not getting an expedient resolution for my dog. Read Less

We are so incredibly impressed with this office. From the get go we were blown away by their customer service. When we called to make the appointment, they were gracious and kind. All they asked for was our name, phone number, and our pet's name (no credit card which we have seen a few times in the past). The new patient forms are conveniently located on their recently updated website. This really saved us in the checkin process.We were immediately taken back into the exam room upon arrival. The rooms are very clean and well kept. The aroma was quite impressive as most vet offices you can tell that pets are in an out every day. Not here! Very clean and professional. I almost felt as though I was in the doctor's office.The vet came out to check on us the moment we arrived (unheard of). When the vet tech arrived she played with our dog and asked me everything he needed done. She went through the entire cost sheet for what was requested and detailed each cost.When Dr. Berger came in he explained everything that he checked for while he was seated in the floor playing with my dog. He was so kind and professional. Very personable as well. This location is even more convenient who use Doguroo for boarding/daycare. They will take your pet to their office for his checkup/shots while they are boarded. We will definitely be utilizing this veterinary facility going forward. Very impressed!! Read Less

We have been taking our dogs (three so far) to PetWell for at least 5 years now. Dr. Berger has been there the whole time and always been down-to-earth and honest with us. Every time we come for any reason, we are greeted enthusiastically, our dogs are pet by the receptionist and aides, and Dr. Berger sits on the floor with us and the pups to talk with us and soothe the dogs.I know there are cheaper options out there, but we have always had such a good experience that I can't imagine trying to find another place that will talk as openly with us. Whenever we consider a course of treatment, Dr. Berger keeps in mind our budgetary needs and guides us accordingly. He will tell us when medication or treatment is superfluous, recommended, or required. He knows we will continue to come back, so he won't rip us off.Last year, May 2014, we had an accident in which one of our dogs was shot. Unfortunately, we could not repair the damage, so Dr. Berger and his team had to help us make one of the toughest choice yet: to let him go peacefully. The team was incredibly caring during our loss, sending us a card in the mail to express their condolences and their wishes that more could have been done.Since then, they have helped us get our new puppy up to date on his shots and in good health. I actually found this place based on Yelp recommendations, and I was not disappointed. Dr. Berger and his staff are so friendly, kind and knowledgeable.We brought our first cat here, and she got all her vaccines, spade and chipped, and have been taking her here for yearly checkups ever since! We buy our heartworm and tick meds from them too.When we got our second kitten a few months ago, after three weeks of living with us, he swallowed some string and needed some serious surgery. They did all they could to work with us, especially since we couldn't afford to pay for his surgery, so they helped us find some affordable payment options, and even directed us on how to look after his post-surgery recovery at home. They went the extra mile to loan us a big cage for our little guy to stay in, so he wouldn't get into more trouble. They really wanted to work with us so he would get the best care, even if we couldn't afford the traditional care route.I am happy to say, because of Petwell, our little kitten has successfully recovered from surgery with no bad effects, and is up to date on all his vaccines too! Hopefully he'll keep himself out of trouble, and we won't have to go back til it's time for a yearly check up, but I'm so grateful we found such wonderful people who really care about our pets. During the ordeal with our kitten, Dr. Berger told us, "I got into this field because I really care about animals," and they've definitely proved it to us.Because of that, even though we used to live a lot closer, we still bundle up the cats and drive them there from Decatur. ^_^ We love you, Petwell! We brought our puppy there to get his first round of vaccines when it was about 10 weeks, and this whole place left us a very good impression: the nurses and Dr. Burger were all very friendly and patient, and it was always easy to get an appointment on the same or second day when we needed some emergency care.As our puppy had some situations in its first few months, our visit to Petwell was quite frequent, and I was disappointed to see a decline in the quality of service. I could understand that the doctor can get pretty busy some times because he was the primary vet there, but we were left to wait over half an hour in several occasions in the  treatment room after the front desk nurse said the doctor "will be with you shortly". It got outrageous one time when we were left there for an entire hour and had to go urge the nurse twice for the doctor to come see our puppy, and when he finally came out from the back he didn't even care to give a reason.I also found Petwell overpriced compared to other vets: the cost estimate we got to neuter a 50lb male puppy was $500 compared to $300 in other nice pet clinics. I have had several bad experiences with Petwell and have switched vets. The staff is completely incompetent. I refuse to give anymore money to this practice. I have since switched to a new vet practice and am astounded by the level of difference (in a very positive way.) I would not recommend PetWell to anyone. It feels like a pop-up shop, quite frankly.The first bad experience came when my dog got sick from the Trifexis they had prescribed, I called to speak with a tech or the vet and the receptionist kept telling me (in a very condescending tone) that there was no way the medicine made my dog ill. She was very rude and indignant and proceeded to talk over me. When I asked to speak to a tech, she put me on hold for 15 minutes and finally hung up on my call. That said, a couple of weeks later Dr. Berger called and apologized and offered advice on the medication.Another TERRIBLE experience that made me decide to leave the practice was today, when I took my dog in for a scheduled appointment to get updated shots and flea/tick/worm prescriptions. In fact, PetWell called me to schedule the appointment because they knew she need updated vaccines. The woman at the front desk informed that that there's no way I had an appointment because they were closed for medical business that day. I had her look in the system to see if we had any appointments at all and she said they did not. I know for a fact that the appointment was scheduled because I wrote it down and also put it in my phone's calendar during the call. I also called me fiance immediately after the call and he put the very same appointment time in his calendar.I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with our experiences. Read Less

SAD TO SAY, THIS IS NOT A GOOD CHOICE if you care about your dog, and its a shame if you go to Dr. Brian Berger at Petwell because its convenient (hes right next to Doguroo). I cant tell you how much better my dog is since we left this vet. In just two weeks at another vet, my dogs runny stool is under control, hes stopped biting himself without the use of drugs and hes mobile. AT FIRST DR. BERGER SEEMS FINE when all you need is an occasional shot. But Ive gone to him for over two years now, and have spent thousands of dollars with him just in the past several months. HE SEEMS TO BE INEXPERIENCED and to have little understanding of dogs and people. He takes your dog behind closed doors to do anything, and once my dog screamed I went into the room and they had him bound and pressured on the floor. My dog was terrified. No wonder I had to drag him into the vet every time we went. MY DOG SUFFERED FOR THREE MONTHS WITH HIM because this vet didnt know that a medication he prescribed left the system after a dayand he was giving it to him every three days. As a result the symptoms of having to urinate frequently never went away until I changed vets and was alerted. That alone was several hundred dollars spent, for no relief. OVER PRICING: Brian Bergers inexperience also shows in his pricing, among other areas. Or maybe he just likes to over-charge, Im not sure. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, although another reviewer here indicated the same thing. BAD MOUTHING THE COMPETITION: When I told him there was a 24-hour emergency vet close by, The Ark, on 14th Street, he bad-mouthed them, and said the only place to go was the Cobb Emergency location, 30 minutes away. Where he used to work. Pretty petty. DAMAGE CONTROL ATTEMPT: When youve had enough and decide to leave, he will try to do damage control and give you a discount on your next service. Unfortunately, he doesnt know how to treat people or animals in the first place, and thinks that an after-the-fact apology will work. It did for this other reviewer. I believe this vet is uneducated and lacks experience, so be careful. There are many other choices. My new vet treats me and my dog with respect and compassion, and gives intelligent explanations. And I am in the room with my dog and the vet at every appointment. What a concept. UNREACHABLE: After he doesnt return your phone calls, youll be told the best way to reach him is email. Then after he doesnt return your emails for three days, you have to call him again. Then hell send you an email. To top it off, when I finally changed vets and we requested my dogs records, it took over a week for him to send them to the new vet. These are the facts. You decide. Read Less

No doctor is great who doesn't have a great bedside manner, and Dr. Berger has a great floorside manner too. He sat down comfortably on the cold hard floor to meet our cat in her own environment. He even managed to escape with minimal lacerations while sweet little snookums flailed in panic as she got her shots.
