This is where I take both of my cats and my dog for their annual checkups, shots, and anything else that is pet related. The staff are very knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly. Crazy busy.... Came here 3 times with an ailing cat and every time, they were sure to say "we are crazy busy" to lower my expectations on service. Doctors appear to be thoughtful and experienced...but somewhat rushed and quick to process patients. Recommend improving service by doctors spending a few more minutes and for front desk to get more organized and stop saying "crazy busy". dr moir primarily and occasionally dr smith have taken care of my dog, pookie, since he was 8 weeks old. he is now a senior, 12 1/2 years old, and wieuca has been wonderful, helping me through a few challenging health issues. Moved here in 2015. I have a 11-year old Border Terrier & 3-year old Pitbull . Found Wieuca Vet clinic on Yelp (had great reviews) & checked them out. I'm very happy I did. My boys are loved & well taking care of by the whole staff . Prices are recent and always explained . They match my boys Meds from PetsMeds, call to follow up on them & also remembered on their Birthdays .. Such a great staff & vetenerians . We see Dr.Mills . Very sweet & loving . My experience with Dr. Moir and Dr. Turner have been very positive. Both vets are extremely thorough, spend time asking questions, and exhibit high levels of empathy and affection for our two dogs. They are very responsive and available when I call and/or leave a voicemail with questions. I feel completely at ease trusting the care of our fur babies to the vets and technicians at Wieuca Animal Clinic. It's obvious that they really enjoy caring for animals, and always take a more conservative approach that tells me they aren't just in it for the money but for the well being of the animal. I am very disappointed in the customer service I received at Wieuca Animal Clinic. My dog has been a patient here for over three years. Up until recently, I have had a wonderful experience. My vet Dr. Cato was phenomenal. She was very personal and always helped me understand any issues that would arise with my dog. Dr. Cato recently relocated and no longer works for Wieuca Animal Clinic. I recently called the clinic about some medicine my dog was taking. I was told three separate times by two different people that they would return my call. When I did not hear from anyone, I reached back out and asked to speak to the office manager. I was transferred to her voicemail where I left a message briefly explaining my issue and asked for her to call me back. Still no response. I am very disappointed that due to the lack of customer service of the administrative staff I will be looking for a new vet. ---- After submitting this review, Wieuca Animal Clinic did contact me. They apologized for their lack of communication and customer service. Although it took longer than it needed to, they were able to resolve my issue. I am hopeful that I will not run into this issue again and will consider continuing to use Wieuca Animal Clinic in the future. Read Less

This veterinarian goes above and beyond to help you and your pets. Dr. Andy Smith has been our vet since 2000 and I cannot imagine going to see anyone else. I've been going here for close to 15 years. First with our cat and most recently with our Dog. We found out this week that our Dog Bella will need to have a tough surgery or be put down. Such a hard decision since she's been part of our family for over 12 years now. We found Wieuca to be so caring, honest, and easy to work with. Everyone in the office is great to work with and Ann Marie went out of her way to make us feel comfortable about our decision. The vets at Wieuca Animal Hospital are outstanding ! We have taken our dogs to these vets for years. They have given the dogs the best of care. My beagle has a cyst near his belly which they check every visit to see if it has grown any. Mercifully it hasn't. They have never suggested that it be removed surgically. The two vets mentioned in a previous review have been gone from Wieuca Animal for several years. The business is under new ownership. I trust the complete care of my dogs to the wonderful/caring vets at Wieuca Animal Hospital. Read Less

Been a customer at Wieuca Animal Clinic since it opened it's doors for business many decades ago! Can't say enough good things about Dr. Smith who has treated generations of my cats and dogs! Long ago, he even made visiting hours for my Mother and young son to visit every afternoon with a hospitalized cat in one of the vet's offices! WORST VET EVER! I've had multiple terrible experiences with this vet including not notifying me of changing appointment times, not being able to accomodate my sick pet forcing me to an emergency care vet who didn't know my dog during a time they were open and finally they sent me ZERO notifications regarding when my next appointment was so when I went to refill the heartworm medication my refill was denied. I called to ask them why they hadn't informed me that my dog was over due for an appointment and they were extremely rude and condescending. I asked if I could make an appointment today but get one refill so that my dog wasn't weeks over due but they couldn't accomodate that either. Apparently they don't really care about the well being of my animal. Being in healthcare I understand rules but what I don't understand is how the front staff cold be so rude, unhelpful and uncaring.  While I thought the vets themselves were friendly, I just can't stand how this place is run. We just relocated to Atlanta and needed to have our 6 month old puppy neutered. After asking around to new neighbors, random people at the dog park and specialty pet stores we decided to try Wieuca and Dr Moir. She was wonderful! The clinic called the morning of the surgery to give me an update on our little guy and  she called personally the following morning to check on him after his first night. Our puppy healed quickly and seemed to be unfazed after his visit.Their price was also the best compared to other area vets- although I would never choose a vet based on price, especially for a major surgery, this was a nice bonus! I have used them for years.  I left for awhile to try a couple of other vets, but made my way back because their quality of care and knowledge exceeds all the others I have tried.  And recently, they properly diagnosed and nursed my 12 year old dog to health from pneumonia while carefully watching the mounting bills.  I'm grateful for both! The facility at Wieuca Animal Clinic is small but immaculately clean. The staff are friendly and attentive. The veterinarians who have treated our pets have all been friendly, patient and efficient. We've had experience with animal clinics through the years so we can attest Wieuca Animal Clinic's prices are surprisingly fair for the quality of service. Our small family including two beloved, aging cats moved to ATL after Hurricane Katrina. The care our aging cats received at Wieuca Animal Clinic influenced our decision to reside permanently in N. Buckhead. Our cats had developed age related symptoms in addition to pre-existing minor chronic conditions. Whenever one of the furry family members needed to be seen by a doctor he or she was treated with sensitivity by the staff and the veterinarians. The doctors diagnosed ailments and prescribed treatment options and dispensed medicines as needed. Both beloved NOLA cats passed away at home of age related causes, one in 2009, the other in early 2012. We recently adopted a young cat from the Atlanta Humane Society. After a few weeks she suddenly developed a case of severe diarrhea. However worried we were we knew our new baby cat would receive the best care available from Dr. Andy Smith (or any Wieuca vet). We took in a fresh stool specimen when we brought her in on Friday. Dr. Smith thoroughly examined her. A different feeding routine was recommended and we were given a medicine and instructions.Dr Smith called this morning to tell us Baby Cat's culture showed no parasites, so it's possible she had eaten canned cat food which had been left out too long. To our relief all is well and we learned to not leave out canned cat food. Read Less

When it was time to put down my pet, I tried to find the closest veterinary clinic to home.  This place books up VERY fast so if you want to get in for any check ups or anything, you need to book it at least a week in advance unless you are lucky enough to get in that week. Since my cat's cancer didn't respond to chemo anymore, this clinic was able to squeeze me in the next day. The staff was very friendly throughout the entire process of booking an appointment to handling the body. Unlike some clinics where they just do it in once injection, this clinic gave it in 2. One to calm the pet down and ease the pain then another to put it down. This was very nice since I was able to spend some time with my animal before saying goodbye.  The turnaround time for the ashes in a private cremation was about 72 hours through an outside contractor. (most places seemed to take up to 2 weeks) Based on their concern and squeezing me in on short notice, I have to say I was very impressed. Especially when they did not seem to have many veterinarians working at that clinic. I definitely would say that I would recommend this clinic if you are not on a time crunch for treatment. I've had two bad experiences with this vet. The first one was around eight years ago. I had a Springer Spaniel that was just getting shots and checkup. She had some kind of lumps in her lower belly. She was around 6 or 7 years old at the time. The vet said if we didn't operate on her and remove them that she would be gone in 6 months. We took her to another vet out of state -- that was retired but friend of the family -- He said don't cut that dog open. She is fine. Well we didn't do the operation and she lived to be 17 years old. I should have never gone back to them but they were really close to my house. I also actually liked the staff. I found my Maine Coon cat in a closet and seemed to be very disoriented and I thought might be having a seizure or stroke. He had bitten through his tongue. He was around 11 years old. I rushed him to Wieuca and they immediately started treating him. They called me later that day and said they had done all they could do and I needed to take him where they could do critical care. So, I went and got him and he seemed almost dead. I took him to Georgia Veterinary Specialists ( I'm going to review them as well.) where they slipped and told me that Wieuca had overdosed him on Phenobarbital. They told me for his symptoms that he should have been given valium. This messed him up worse than what was a mini-stroke -probably - that started this sequence of events. My cat recovered but it really aged him. If your animal has a serious problem, Do NOT take them to this clinic! Read Less
