This is the last place I would take my pet! They do not follow thru with proposed Care Plan nor do they notify owner of change. I am very disgusted with their lack of Professionalism and Care. My elderly Cat was actually dying but they kept him 11 hrs hydrating him!Did not run any test to determine cause of illness. Had to go to another Facility for Diagnoses which was done in a few hours. Just a warning to everyone! Read Less

A friend had a cat seen at this facility on 3/27/18. However, cat took a turn for the worse by 3/30/18. Banfield was notified and several things resulted. My friend could not have her cat seen as they were very busy. The cat being blind in one eye, could not see. Bumping into things, falling off bed, not eating. Her cat was near death's door and they could still not see the cat. Banfield could not even fax health records including x-rays to another facility for 3 hours. How can another vet treat without records that might require repeating labs which is another cost. So therefore, I called my Vet and told them the situation and they stated to bring cat on in. So within 20 minutes of the phone call to Banfield, my friend and I were in front of Banfield. I went in to obtain the records. I was given the medical records. Again, Banfield stated they could not send x-rays until after 1pm. I told Banfield we were dealing with life and death, that their attitude was unacceptable. When I arrived at Banfield, there were 2 female receptionist doing nothing. There was no one in the waiting room. Apparently, Banfield had a vet call and quit. Maybe Banfield was busy, but at 1045am nothing appeared to be happening. So we took the cat to my vet. Even my vet called to get x-rays and was told it would be after 1pm. The cat ended up being euthanized. My vet was extremely caring and compassionate. If Banfield sent the x-rays to my vet is unknown. Banfield lacked concern or compassion. I have payed for 1 wellness plan since 2011 for my dog dolly. Had great service until 12/19/17. I also had 1 other dog and 1 cat for a year on wellness plans for a total of 3 plans. I call yesterday to get an drop off appointment for dolly and told them I thought she had a UTI and she had some bleeding. They told me not to bring her there they could not do anything for and they were not an emergency vet. It is on your website that you are. If I knew y'all did not have real vet there I would not have singed up for your planes. I call corporate and they called and set up an appointment for this morning. I cancelled all of the plans and since y'all just took out the December payment he said the appointment for today would be covered. When I got there this morning the gave me a estimate of 300.00. They told me this because I cancelled the plans and they told me yesterday they did not want to treat the dog. I got my dog and left and took her to the fist vet I passed they are treating her for 100.00 to do the Same thing that is on your estimate. After spending 948.00 a year to Banfield for just shot I feel like your company is a scam and will let as meny friend and family to not do business with your company. Read Less

We have recently moved from New York -Queens to Grovetown, GA. I was worried about finding the right Banfield hospital for Coco. My prayers have been answered. This hospital is just as friendly as the one we took her too in NY in the village. The receptionist was very nice & staff was friendly. They were very thorough with Coco's examination. Don't believe all the positive reviews. πŸ˜’πŸ™„ Do not bother with Banfield Animal hospital. What a joke of a facility. Actually turning away sick pets unless THEIR clinic has seen them before. I had a relatively minor situation with my cat and was told I couldn't bring her there for treatment because she had to have an exam on file with THEIR place first. They don't care about the welfare of animals. How can you turn a sick animal away?! Not to mention their staff are rude and just refer people to an expensive emergency vet. I will encourage everyone I know to stay away and hopefully they'll go OUT of business one day. Read Less

I have been using Banfield for years and every time I go in I think to myself "why the heck do I keep doing this?!" We use the Banfield Wellness Plans and have for the entire life of both of our dogs but I don't know why because there is really no benefit. EVERYTIME I call to schedule an appointment, nobody answers the phone, I press the option to leave a voicemail, listen to another terribly long message about how they are closed (which they aren't) and that they will call me back within an hour if during hours or the next day if after hours. 48 hours later and still no call.When I finally got someone on the phone, they told me that it would be several weeks before they could give my dogs their shots because my dog has high anxiety and doesn't do well with the drop off option. Let's talk about the drop off option, who is that really benefiting? It isn't the customer or the pet. You would rather me give my 10 lb dog with high anxiety a drop off appointment for 2 shots than to have me come in for 10 minutes to accomplish the same action?! I LITERALLY JUST WANT MY DOGS TO GET THEIR SHOTS SO THEY CAN BE GROOMED AND WON'T OVERHEAT. Read Less

The crew at Banfield botched everything about appointment scheduling and information needed for correct certification and paperwork. Don't get me wrong, the vet was great, it was the others who were scheduling who didn't have a clue and I told them multiple times what I needed to do.This all started when I talked with someone at the desk in January and explained I would be moving to Germany in the future and needed to know what I had to do to get my cat there with me. I was given a 15 minute slot for paperwork that takes at least an hour. I was late because the movers were at my house and I couldn't leave until I had someone to take my lace. I got locked out of my hotel room going to get the cat for the appointment; that was all on me. I was unaware that my appointment scheduled was only 15 minutes long... I was not made aware that I would be required to send my forms to Conyers, Georgia -have them certified and returned before I left so I would have all the necessary paperwork to allow my cat on the international flight. Not one of the people at the desk appeared to be aware of any of the necessary steps and were not forthcoming if they did actually have a clue.I spent Wednesday and Thursday afternoon waiting to be seen and to get my information processed for the forms while the clock was ticking to leave the country! Almost seven hours in the waiting area and no time to make other arrangements. Many apologies and smiles (lack of intelligent information).Last minute I had to go to an emergency clinic and then rush to Fed Ex to expedite the forms to and from Conyers by Saturday morning. I really do love this hospital. I haven't had a terrible experience there at all. I'm always greeted by the receptionist warmly and have never had an issue with making appointments or utilizing the drop off service. There hours are exceptional for me as I have some long days at times. I get text messages and phone call reminding me of my appts and they're always accommodating. I've never been asked to buy anything except for what my dogs need for there overall well being. They caught a serious heart condition in my dog and I am forever grateful. The ladies know me and my pets by name and they're all super friendly. I did at some time have a doctor that I didn't like because he wasn't very thorough with his communication with me but I simply asked for a provider change and they accommodated me just fine. The facility is nice and clean, the techs are educated and they all seem like they enjoy working with animals. When I've had a delay in care I've been notified that I would have a delay due to one reason or another. Both my pups had surgery here and they make sure they call you and update u on the status and give detailed take home instructions. I can't say enough. And the value I really appreciate. Read Less

I had the wellness plan. I have gone to banfield for over 2 years. I even get prescription food and had 3 pets on the wellness plan. I took my cat in a few months ago because I felt both cats had uti. They couldn't get urine from either cat and only took blood from one. They said they couldn't get it from my male cat because he wasn't cooperative but since my female cat was peeing blood (I saw her) it was probably her and not to worry about him. So they didn't test him because he was too difficult. He has been getting sick for a couple days. I took him today because he now refused to eat and can't hold down water. They make me drop him off. 4 hours later after I call them they tell me that he looks like he has jaundice. They can't give him an iv because they don't have time to watch him. They would have to sedate him to do that or draw blood and he is so sick he won't wake up if they do that. They say take him to a different vet. I pay close to $50 a month for this service and twice they can't help me. I go to another vet. They get blood in 3 minutes. Give him fluids. All without sedation or a single problem And inform me he looks like he has liver cancer per the blood test. Something that would have been detected months ago when I took him if they had done the blood work. And now my cat may not live if he doesn't show improvement in the next 72 hours. I was so furious I called to cancel the wellness plans I've had for 2-3 years. The bill I paid only 3 days ago. And they charge me $110 to do that and could care less about my pet. I truly regret all the people I referred to you. My cat is 15 and I love him. I thought the wellness plan would help me catch these things but I guess if it's inconvenient for you then you just don't care. Read Less

I have never received anything less than stellar service here! My dog, Ellie, naturally does not like the vet but all of the staff make her feel so welcomed and comfortable. After we had her spayed she developed a bit of a rash around the incision. Being the helicopter parent that I am, I called and was seen right away for my piece of mind. The ladies at the front are always very polite and very helpful. The only issue we ever had was some confusion surrounding our puppy plan but everything was worked out promptly and effectively. We are truly grateful for all of the staff caring so well for Ellie and for us! Thank you!! Read Less

Banfield is the absolute worst company to deal to deal with. My dog is signed up for the wellness plan which really doesn't cover anything except a "discount". My husband took his dog in on August 17, 2016 for a comprehensive wellness exam. Then again on December 14, 2016 for vomiting and diarrhea. While he was there he had them check out a bump on Jacks side. A few days later we realize the monthly wellness contract payment didn't come out. So we call the bank asking if it was presented for payment? They have no record of an attempt at payment. So we have to go to Banfield and update the card...again. THis seems to happen every other month. We call them and let them know what day we will be in and verify their hours since all of this is happening around the holidays. We go in on December 30, 2017 and make a payment of $113.54, update the card for automatic payments (again) and make sure the account is paid in full. Now, it is February and I just received a letter dated January 24, 2017 and I receive a collections letter for $86.25. I've called the local Banfield in Augusta, GA who says that Jack was not seen on the 29th and they can't see what the charges are for nor can they tell me specifically what the charges were for that we paid $113.54 on December 30th. I called the collection company and spoke to Maggie who also stated they do not know what the charges are for. So I called two different corporate numbers who say the same thing! We do not know what the charges are for that it must be for non payment of your wellness plan? Oh please try that again. The account is set up on automatic payments and I've used that same bank for well over 12 years. My bank would not lie about an attempted payment. I have asked repeatedly for a breakdown of the charges for this bogus $86.25 for services on December 29th is for and NOT ONE PERSON at Banfield can tell me what it is for. My dog was not even at your facility on December 29th yet you're sending me a bill. This is the worst company to take your pet to for services. The discount is not enough to warrant continuing services with this company. Read Less

Every single employee here loves your animals almost as much as you do. It used to take a while to get an appointment, but they've hired more vets so it's much better now. Care is always great and they really take them time to help you understand your treatment plans in line with your budget and limits. I've used Banfield for 7 years now in both Maryland and here and I have always been satisfied and grateful to have these wonderful people looking out for my fur babies!Read Less

This photo was taken one month and four days after my dog was spayed at Banfield. When I picked her up, the vet who performed her surgery didn't even come out and speak to me. The tech handed her to me and told me to have a great day. There were no papers, no conversation, or anything about what to do or expect during her recovery process. I had noticed 14 days after her surgery that her incision just didn't look right and that something was wrong. The vet tech told me she was allergic to the suture and to watch for bubbling in the next several months. Three days later, I see bubbles. Once again, the vet did not speak with me. The tech handed me a prescription for a very weak antibiotic "just in case" there was an infection. And then THIS happens. Panicking, I called Banfield and the vet is still not available to speak to me. I leave a message with my name and number at 2:30, and when 4 rolls around, I had to schedule an emergency appointment with another hospital because they never called back. I didn't receive a call back until the next morning around 10. Because of their negligence, my dog has been really been sick. And I am locked into a contract for services I will never use again because of what they should've done. Banfield is too busy of a hospital to have two vets in the office, so if you want to make sure your animal is receiving the proper attention and care they deserve, do not go here. Read Less

They were fine when we took our cats to get shots, but when our cat actually needed to be seen same day, the receptionist was extremely rude about. My cat was in distress and needed a vet. They refused to see him even though he was an established patient. I understand that they have scheduled patients and I'm sorry that I didn't schedule my cat getting hurt but sometimes things happen and I have never heard of a vet not offering a same day appt when it was needed. I can understand if they couldn't see him, but what's the point in being rude about it? Read Less

I adopted my kitty at PetSmart and received a coupon for a free check up/exam at Banfield. I thought it was convenient and since it was free, why not.I did not feel welcomed by the staff at all during my visit. Receptionist were rude and unfriendly. I was put in a room and waited longer than I felt necessary. The Veterinarian did not seem interested in my cat at all. I guess since it was a "free" check up/exam, they did not put any effort or care into my visit.The Veterinarian barely said anything to me while doing the check up and within five minutes, he asked if I had any questions and left. I received my cat's check up form which said everything was good and healthy. I left Banfield disappointed and felt like my cat and I were an inconvenience.Fast forward to two months later, I noticed my cat's gums were inflamed and her teeth were looking bad. Since my last experience did not go well at Banfield, I decided to take her to another Veterinarian to get checked out. Turns out my cat has Periodontal disease. My Veterinarian told me that there's no way that her gum and teeth changed drastically like that in two months. That this has been an on-going issue with my cat. Banfield failed to inform me of my cat's health issue due to not thoroughly examining my cat. We have been using Banfield for a few years now, this particular branch is horrible. And it is the only Banfield in town! The receptionists are not friendly at all, they do not great you, they do not smile period. They give you a vibe that they don't want to speak/deal with their customers. My dog didn't feel well, because he is under their wellness plan, I took him to the Banfield for a walk-in. The previous Banfield hospitals we have visited, all offer this walk-in service, that is one of the biggest reasons why we stay with this company. But this branch, you gotta make an appointment for a walk-in. I asked the receptionist why I can't do a walk-in like the other branches, she said every store is different, and she did not care about my dog at all. I would clearly go to a different store, but this is the only location in augusta, so I'm cancelling the wellness plan, I will not keep paying high dollars for a service I will not get. Read Less

When I first moved to Georgia, one of the movers recommended Banfield for my dogs. He spoke highly about their inexpensive and convenient monthly health plans, so trusting a fellow dog lover's opinion, I checked them out. Let me start off by saying that if prices are your only concern, you probably won't have a problem with this place as they did turn out to be considerably affordable and like someone mentioned before, they get the job done. I was fortunate with my pet's previous health care providers being affectionate towards them and being very personable with our experiences. Here at this location, the staff that I have encountered so far is not very social and do seem mostly interested in making a sale.My dogs have always enjoyed their visits with the vet and now it's like they dread coming here. In fact, it's to the point where we have to put one of my dogs in a muzzle because he really doesn't trust the staff here. At first I felt a bit embarrassed because he has never acted this way before, but I do have to consider why they are both so uncomfortable here.On one of my other visits, the vet assistant asked if my dogs were micro-chipped. I said no and that I have had them both since they were puppies. I was irritated when she reached for the wand and distrustfully said that she was going to check anyway. Why ask if you're going to check anyway? Do I look like some sort of dog thief? It really bothered me. Talking to my fiance about it after the fact, we concluded that maybe they check everyone's pets as a precaution, though she said nothing of the sort at the time. If that was the case, at the very least she could have announced that beforehand instead of making me feel like some sort of suspect.When it comes down to it, my dogs get the basic care they need here, but when I am investing my money, time and putting my (ahem) fur-babies' lives in the hands of these people, I expect more. If I come across a better, more personable place, I will most likely switch vets. Read Less

They get the job done and have good hours, but every time I go in, they try to sell me something. I cant leave that office without buying ear cleaner or something. As a worried dog mom, I've run my pup in with a hurt foot, and they did xrays twice, and gave her all sorts of meds, and turns out, shes just fine. They said she would never use that leg again if I didn't get her ACL repair surgery, and she was walking on it in 3 days. I was about to spend $1200 on a serious surgery! There are a few vets there, and they change all the time. One female vet is nice and has a great way of explaining everything, and the rest are so so, and perhaps may even argue with you about whats wrong with your pet. I'm finding a new vet because I don't trust them. They always up-sell me. I'll go in for flea meds and I'll end up paying for a whole bunch of tests or extra shots. Be wary. and every time I go in, I wait in the room an hour to see the vet, then another hour while they do whatever work they need to. Ive never left in under 2 hours. I time it now. Read Less

This is the last place I would take my pet! They do not follow thru with proposed Care Plan nor do they notify owner of change. I am very disgusted with their lack of Professionalism and Care. My elderly Cat was actually dying but they kept him 11 hrs hydrating him!Did not run any test to determine cause of illness. Had to go to another Facility for Diagnoses which was done in a few hours. A friend had a cat seen at this facility on 3/27/18. However, cat took a turn for the worse by 3/30/18. Banfield was notified and several things resulted. My friend could not have her cat seen as they were very busy. The cat being blind in one eye, could not see. Bumping into things, falling off bed, not eating. Her cat was near death's door and they could still not see the cat. Banfield could not even fax health records including x-rays to another facility for 3 hours. How can another vet treat without records that might require repeating labs which is another cost. So therefore, I called my Vet and told them the situation and they stated to bring cat on in. So within 20 minutes of the phone call to Banfield, my friend and I were in front of Banfield. I went in to obtain the records. I was given the medical records. Again, Banfield stated they could not send x-rays until after 1pm. I told Banfield we were dealing with life and death, that their attitude was unacceptable. When I arrived at Banfield, there were 2 female receptionist doing nothing. There was no one in the waiting room. Apparently, Banfield had a vet call and quit. Maybe Banfield was busy, but at 1045am nothing appeared to be happening. So we took the cat to my vet. Even my vet called to get x-rays and was told it would be after 1pm. The cat ended up being euthanized. My vet was extremely caring and compassionate. If Banfield sent the x-rays to my vet is unknown. Banfield lacked concern or compassion. I have payed for 1 wellness plan since 2011 for my dog dolly. Had great service until 12/19/17. I also had 1 other dog and 1 cat for a year on wellness plans for a total of 3 plans. I call yesterday to get an drop off appointment for dolly and told them I thought she had a UTI and she had some bleeding. They told me not to bring her there they could not do anything for and they were not an emergency vet. It is on your website that you are. If I knew y'all did not have real vet there I would not have singed up for your planes. I call corporate and they called and set up an appointment for this morning. I cancelled all of the plans and since y'all just took out the December payment he said the appointment for today would be covered. When I got there this morning the gave me a estimate of 300.00. They told me this because I cancelled the plans and they told me yesterday they did not want to treat the dog. I got my dog and left and took her to the fist vet I passed they are treating her for 100.00 to do the Same thing that is on your estimate. After spending 948.00 a year to Banfield for just shot I feel like your company is a scam and will let as meny friend and family to not do business with your company. Read Less

I had a relatively minor situation with my cat and was told I couldn't bring her there for treatment because she had to have an exam on file with THEIR place first. They don't care about the welfare of animals. How can you turn a sick animal away?! Not to mention their staff are rude and just refer people to an expensive emergency vet. I will encourage everyone I know to stay away and hopefully they'll go OUT of business one day. Read Less

I have been using Banfield for years and every time I go in I think to myself "why the heck do I keep doing this?!" We use the Banfield Wellness Plans and have for the entire life of both of our dogs but I don't know why because there is really no benefit. EVERYTIME I call to schedule an appointment, nobody answers the phone, I press the option to leave a voicemail, listen to another terribly long message about how they are closed (which they aren't) and that they will call me back within an hour if during hours or the next day if after hours. 48 hours later and still no call.When I finally got someone on the phone, they told me that it would be several weeks before they could give my dogs their shots because my dog has high anxiety and doesn't do well with the drop off option. Let's talk about the drop off option, who is that really benefiting? It isn't the customer or the pet. You would rather me give my 10 lb dog with high anxiety a drop off appointment for 2 shots than to have me come in for 10 minutes to accomplish the same action?! I LITERALLY JUST WANT MY DOGS TO GET THEIR SHOTS SO THEY CAN BE GROOMED AND WON'T OVERHEAT. Read Less

The crew at Banfield botched everything about appointment scheduling and information needed for correct certification and paperwork. Don't get me wrong, the vet was great, it was the others who were scheduling who didn't have a clue and I told them multiple times what I needed to do.This all started when I talked with someone at the desk in January and explained I would be moving to Germany in the future and needed to know what I had to do to get my cat there with me. I was given a 15 minute slot for paperwork that takes at least an hour. I was late because the movers were at my house and I couldn't leave until I had someone to take my lace. I got locked out of my hotel room going to get the cat for the appointment; that was all on me. I was unaware that my appointment scheduled was only 15 minutes long... I was not made aware that I would be required to send my forms to Conyers, Georgia -have them certified and returned before I left so I would have all the necessary paperwork to allow my cat on the international flight. Not one of the people at the desk appeared to be aware of any of the necessary steps and were not forthcoming if they did actually have a clue.I spent Wednesday and Thursday afternoon waiting to be seen and to get my information processed for the forms while the clock was ticking to leave the country! Almost seven hours in the waiting area and no time to make other arrangements. Many apologies and smiles (lack of intelligent information).Last minute I had to go to an emergency clinic and then rush to Fed Ex to expedite the forms to and from Conyers by Saturday morning. I really do love this hospital. I haven't had a terrible experience there at all. I'm always greeted by the receptionist warmly and have never had an issue with making appointments or utilizing the drop off service. There hours are exceptional for me as I have some long days at times. I get text messages and phone call reminding me of my appts and they're always accommodating. I've never been asked to buy anything except for what my dogs need for there overall well being. They caught a serious heart condition in my dog and I am forever grateful. The ladies know me and my pets by name and they're all super friendly. I did at some time have a doctor that I didn't like because he wasn't very thorough with his communication with me but I simply asked for a provider change and they accommodated me just fine. The facility is nice and clean, the techs are educated and they all seem like they enjoy working with animals. When I've had a delay in care I've been notified that I would have a delay due to one reason or another. Both my pups had surgery here and they make sure they call you and update u on the status and give detailed take home instructions. I can't say enough. And the value I really appreciate. Read Less

I had the wellness plan. I have gone to banfield for over 2 years. I even get prescription food and had 3 pets on the wellness plan. I took my cat in a few months ago because I felt both cats had uti. They couldn't get urine from either cat and only took blood from one. They said they couldn't get it from my male cat because he wasn't cooperative but since my female cat was peeing blood (I saw her) it was probably her and not to worry about him. So they didn't test him because he was too difficult. He has been getting sick for a couple days. I took him today because he now refused to eat and can't hold down water. They make me drop him off. 4 hours later after I call them they tell me that he looks like he has jaundice. They can't give him an iv because they don't have time to watch him. They would have to sedate him to do that or draw blood and he is so sick he won't wake up if they do that. They say take him to a different vet. I pay close to $50 a month for this service and twice they can't help me. I go to another vet. They get blood in 3 minutes. Give him fluids. All without sedation or a single problem And inform me he looks like he has liver cancer per the blood test. Something that would have been detected months ago when I took him if they had done the blood work. And now my cat may not live if he doesn't show improvement in the next 72 hours. I was so furious I called to cancel the wellness plans I've had for 2-3 years. The bill I paid only 3 days ago. And they charge me $110 to do that and could care less about my pet. I truly regret all the people I referred to you. My cat is 15 and I love him. I thought the wellness plan would help me catch these things but I guess if it's inconvenient for you then you just don't care. Read Less

I have never received anything less than stellar service here! My dog, Ellie, naturally does not like the vet but all of the staff make her feel so welcomed and comfortable. After we had her spayed she developed a bit of a rash around the incision. Being the helicopter parent that I am, I called and was seen right away for my piece of mind. The ladies at the front are always very polite and very helpful. The only issue we ever had was some confusion surrounding our puppy plan but everything was worked out promptly and effectively. We are truly grateful for all of the staff caring so well for Ellie and for us! Thank you!! Read Less

Banfield is the absolute worst company to deal to deal with. My dog is signed up for the wellness plan which really doesn't cover anything except a "discount". My husband took his dog in on August 17, 2016 for a comprehensive wellness exam. Then again on December 14, 2016 for vomiting and diarrhea. While he was there he had them check out a bump on Jacks side. A few days later we realize the monthly wellness contract payment didn't come out. So we call the bank asking if it was presented for payment? They have no record of an attempt at payment. So we have to go to Banfield and update the card...again. THis seems to happen every other month. We call them and let them know what day we will be in and verify their hours since all of this is happening around the holidays. We go in on December 30, 2017 and make a payment of $113.54, update the card for automatic payments (again) and make sure the account is paid in full. Now, it is February and I just received a letter dated January 24, 2017 and I receive a collections letter for $86.25. I've called the local Banfield in Augusta, GA who says that Jack was not seen on the 29th and they can't see what the charges are for nor can they tell me specifically what the charges were for that we paid $113.54 on December 30th. I called the collection company and spoke to Maggie who also stated they do not know what the charges are for. So I called two different corporate numbers who say the same thing! We do not know what the charges are for that it must be for non payment of your wellness plan? Oh please try that again. The account is set up on automatic payments and I've used that same bank for well over 12 years. My bank would not lie about an attempted payment. I have asked repeatedly for a breakdown of the charges for this bogus $86.25 for services on December 29th is for and NOT ONE PERSON at Banfield can tell me what it is for. My dog was not even at your facility on December 29th yet you're sending me a bill. This is the worst company to take your pet to for services. The discount is not enough to warrant continuing services with this company. Read Less

Every single employee here loves your animals almost as much as you do. It used to take a while to get an appointment, but they've hired more vets so it's much better now. Care is always great and they really take them time to help you understand your treatment plans in line with your budget and limits. I've used Banfield for 7 years now in both Maryland and here and I have always been satisfied and grateful to have these wonderful people looking out for my fur babies!Read Less

This photo was taken one month and four days after my dog was spayed at Banfield. When I picked her up, the vet who performed her surgery didn't even come out and speak to me. The tech handed her to me and told me to have a great day. There were no papers, no conversation, or anything about what to do or expect during her recovery process. I had noticed 14 days after her surgery that her incision just didn't look right and that something was wrong. The vet tech told me she was allergic to the suture and to watch for bubbling in the next several months. Three days later, I see bubbles. Once again, the vet did not speak with me. The tech handed me a prescription for a very weak antibiotic "just in case" there was an infection. And then THIS happens. Panicking, I called Banfield and the vet is still not available to speak to me. I leave a message with my name and number at 2:30, and when 4 rolls around, I had to schedule an emergency appointment with another hospital because they never called back. I didn't receive a call back until the next morning around 10. Because of their negligence, my dog has been really been sick. And I am locked into a contract for services I will never use again because of what they should've done. Banfield is too busy of a hospital to have two vets in the office, so if you want to make sure your animal is receiving the proper attention and care they deserve, do not go here. Read Less

They were fine when we took our cats to get shots, but when our cat actually needed to be seen same day, the receptionist was extremely rude about. My cat was in distress and needed a vet. They refused to see him even though he was an established patient. I understand that they have scheduled patients and I'm sorry that I didn't schedule my cat getting hurt but sometimes things happen and I have never heard of a vet not offering a same day appt when it was needed. I can understand if they couldn't see him, but what's the point in being rude about it? Read Less

I adopted my kitty at PetSmart and received a coupon for a free check up/exam at Banfield. I thought it was convenient and since it was free, why not.I did not feel welcomed by the staff at all during my visit. Receptionist were rude and unfriendly. I was put in a room and waited longer than I felt necessary. The Veterinarian did not seem interested in my cat at all. I guess since it was a "free" check up/exam, they did not put any effort or care into my visit.The Veterinarian barely said anything to me while doing the check up and within five minutes, he asked if I had any questions and left. I received my cat's check up form which said everything was good and healthy. I left Banfield disappointed and felt like my cat and I were an inconvenience.Fast forward to two months later, I noticed my cat's gums were inflamed and her teeth were looking bad. Since my last experience did not go well at Banfield, I decided to take her to another Veterinarian to get checked out. Turns out my cat has Periodontal disease. My Veterinarian told me that there's no way that her gum and teeth changed drastically like that in two months. That this has been an on-going issue with my cat. Banfield failed to inform me of my cat's health issue due to not thoroughly examining my cat. We have been using Banfield for a few years now, this particular branch is horrible. And it is the only Banfield in town! The receptionists are not friendly at all, they do not great you, they do not smile period. They give you a vibe that they don't want to speak/deal with their customers. My dog didn't feel well, because he is under their wellness plan, I took him to the Banfield for a walk-in. The previous Banfield hospitals we have visited, all offer this walk-in service, that is one of the biggest reasons why we stay with this company. But this branch, you gotta make an appointment for a walk-in. I asked the receptionist why I can't do a walk-in like the other branches, she said every store is different, and she did not care about my dog at all. I would clearly go to a different store, but this is the only location in augusta, so I'm cancelling the wellness plan, I will not keep paying high dollars for a service I will not get. Read Less

When I first moved to Georgia, one of the movers recommended Banfield for my dogs. He spoke highly about their inexpensive and convenient monthly health plans, so trusting a fellow dog lover's opinion, I checked them out. Let me start off by saying that if prices are your only concern, you probably won't have a problem with this place as they did turn out to be considerably affordable and like someone mentioned before, they get the job done. I was fortunate with my pet's previous health care providers being affectionate towards them and being very personable with our experiences. Here at this location, the staff that I have encountered so far is not very social and do seem mostly interested in making a sale.My dogs have always enjoyed their visits with the vet and now it's like they dread coming here. In fact, it's to the point where we have to put one of my dogs in a muzzle because he really doesn't trust the staff here. At first I felt a bit embarrassed because he has never acted this way before, but I do have to consider why they are both so uncomfortable here.On one of my other visits, the vet assistant asked if my dogs were micro-chipped. I said no and that I have had them both since they were puppies. I was irritated when she reached for the wand and distrustfully said that she was going to check anyway. Why ask if you're going to check anyway? Do I look like some sort of dog thief? It really bothered me. Talking to my fiance about it after the fact, we concluded that maybe they check everyone's pets as a precaution, though she said nothing of the sort at the time. If that was the case, at the very least she could have announced that beforehand instead of making me feel like some sort of suspect.When it comes down to it, my dogs get the basic care they need here, but when I am investing my money, time and putting my (ahem) fur-babies' lives in the hands of these people, I expect more. As a worried dog mom, I've run my pup in with a hurt foot, and they did xrays twice, and gave her all sorts of meds, and turns out, shes just fine. They said she would never use that leg again if I didn't get her ACL repair surgery, and she was walking on it in 3 days. I was about to spend $1200 on a serious surgery! There are a few vets there, and they change all the time. One female vet is nice and has a great way of explaining everything, and the rest are so so, and perhaps may even argue with you about whats wrong with your pet. I'm finding a new vet because I don't trust them. They always up-sell me. I'll go in for flea meds and I'll end up paying for a whole bunch of tests or extra shots. Be wary. and every time I go in, I wait in the room an hour to see the vet, then another hour while they do whatever work they need to. Ive never left in under 2 hours. I time it now. Read Less
