I've taken my cat here since I adopted him 10 years ago. Despite the fact that the front desk is snotty at best and flat-out RUDE at worst, I loved the attention I received from Dr. Sowell. She is an amazing vet with a fantastic manner. That being said, I will NEVER bring my cat, or any other animal I may one day own, here again. I don't know what was worse about my experience.... Being told that my cat was "too fat to really feel if anything is wrong", hearing "sometimes I don't always feel like myself, so I may not want to do anything. Pets are probably the same way", or being charged $135 for blood work, an exam that I was told produced NOTHING because he was, again, "too fat". It was like being at a physician who dismisses you because they see nothing wrong in a 5 minute exam. I've lived with my pet for 10 years, I know when something is off, and it's not helpful to a stressed and worried pet-parent to be told you're clearly feeding your cat too much. If you think a pet is overweight, and you've been "taking care" of him for 10 years, shouldn't you offer some sort of advice??? Nope, nothing. Just "feed him less. Whatever you're feeding feed him less" (despite going through the usual litany of NO i'm not free-feeding, NO he doesn't get treats, NO he doesn't get table food. YES i've been portion control feeding him on a strict schedule for a year with no weight loss). Right.....Again, this is not every vet in this practice. But every single one i've dealt with OTHER than Dr. Sowell has been extremely disappointing, dismissive, and sometimes, straight-out RUDE. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I know I will....
