Warning: This is not a happy review. I state that in relation to the situation that brought me here not the experience while there, but I just want to warn anyone reading who loves animals. As a new dog parent (less than a year), I had yet to be in a situation where I needed to make an emergency trip for one of our dogs. Unfortunately, last week was the first. As I held one of our dogs, knowing something was drastically wrong, I found myself looking at this place. I called to see what paperwork was needed and if an immediate appointment time was available. They prefer records of shots, but it is not required. And since the only slots open were later in the day, they informed me that walk-ins are welcome, with a $15 fee. I took that option. The team from beginning to end was kind and helpful. I walked in with our small beagle in my arms so they took me immediately to a room. It was within an hour that the vet came in to see us (after two vet assistants had already stopped in and asked some basic questions). From there it escalated quickly. It went from "hip issues" to needing x-rays and an ultrasound to having to make the hardest decision of our lives. Through it all, the vet was straight forward yet kind with her words. The team was consoling and patient. When we told them we didn't want her to suffer anymore, they informed us of the bereavement room. If you choose to be with your furry family member when they take that long nap, there is a private room where you will be when the team brings him/her to you. They repeatedly told us that we could take all the time we needed beforehand and afterwards that we needed. Though I never hope you need this service, I will let you know it is as consoling as a space could be. Low light, comfy couch, words of encouragement on the walls. Again in case you need to know, there are three options after the fact. They put him/her in a special enclosed box for you to take home [$15], they cremate the body (but the ashes remain there) [$99], or there is a "private cremation and urn" where you take the ashes home [$125]. As we left, the team all offered their condolences. I could not have imagined a better place to be for this sorrowful experience. I will always come here in an emergency. I suggest you do the same.
