Very nice staff, and they always make my dog feel comfortable. I feel like I always spend more money than I expect here, however. That said, this is the only vet I've ever taken my dog too (besides the one day pet clinics at Tractor Supply for shots) so I don't have anything to compare it too. We have been taking our dogs to Barber Creek since we moved to Athens in 2001. Even after a move to Jefferson in 2007, we continue to drive to Athens to Barber Creek. They have been with us in sickness and in health, and were the most compassionate people I could ever imagine through the loss of three dogs during our years with them. Read Less

We have two smaller dogs. Barber Creek staff has always been friendly, thoughtful, and informative. They try to cover all the bases and answer all of our questions when we have a concern. Prices seem comparative. I'd say that only if it felt like a luxury resort would I give it (or any other vets office) a five star rating. Read Less

My family has been using the Barber Creek team for our four-legged children's needs for over a decade. The entire team is compassionate, efficient and knowledgeable. Each member on staff make the effort to express their gratitude towards their clients, and to make what could be a daunting experience, instead a fun one. They have always been able to get our pets in on short-notice when unplanned medical needs arise (ear infections, skin infections, bladder infections, etc.) which is very important to us - there is so little that we can do to offer our pets comfort when they are sick, getting them on medication as quickly as possible is our best ally. The doctors and techs all work well together minimizing time in the office. It also seems that their staff remains consistent, so you are always greeted by familiar friendly faces that know your family. Claude and Ernie love their vet friends Sam, Gray, Susie and Amanda! Several years ago we had to put a pet down, an impossibly difficult day - their sincere emotional support and sensitivity will forever hold them in a special place in my heart.
