We recently visited the Animal Emergency Care of Braselton when our 2.5 year old Labrador had been vomiting for over 36 hours. I initially called them first and upon speaking with Chris he explained that it would best to bring in our dog since the vomiting had been happening for such a long period of time. What I really appreciated was that Chris was very upfront with the prices - he explained that it would be $95 for the office visit and an additional $195 for x-rays. I liked that they were so transparent about their fees because I've experienced the complete opposite. Once we arrived they already had a room waiting for us. We did have to wait a while to be seen (~20 minutes) but after our wait we met with Dr. Lauren Wilkes. She was so sweet, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Luckily, the x-rays came back normal so our dog didn't need any surgery! Dr. Wilkes recommended some antibiotics for our dog but when we saw the bill (almost $500) we asked the vet assistant Chris if there was any way we could prioritize what we really needed to reduce the price. He kindly went back to speak with Dr. Wilkes and they were able to isolate what they truly recommend and what other alternatives would be (like going to CVS to get Pepcid tablets) so our bill came to $365. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and appreciated the fact that the employees were willing to work with us and the price. I am also happy to report that our pup is completely better now! Thank you Dr. Wilkes and staff! Read Less

We visited because our puppy had a nosebleed from roughhousing with another dog. Upon arrival, no one was at the front desk. When someone came, we filled in paperwork and were asked to go into a room and wait while the nurse took our puppy's vitals. She was very helpful, but the doctor was as quick to leave as he was to enter the room after attending another dog. He made jokes about bleeding that would make any first-time puppy owner uncomfortable, and he had no advice to offer other than "he's fine; it's just a nose bleed." $95 for a five minute visit where virtually nothing was learned was a waste of time and money. My sister and I were incredibly worried, especially after having the dog sneeze blood all over my face in the car ride over. Given the circumstances, better "bedside manner" would have made the situation better tenfold. Read Less

In another effort to try to save my pet, I found a nonprofit that would pay for it if the vet would complete the application, which was literally about 10 questions, relating to diagnosis, prognosis, estimate etc. I was told NO. I took my two year old chihuahua there last night, he was acting very disoriented and had the small tip of his tail missing. His tail was covered in large hive like bumps and clearly infected. While on the way to the vet he got car sick and vomited in his crate. The "vet" completely disregarded his tail and started trying to treat him for nausea. She the brought me a estimate of over $1,000 in treatments for his "nausea" and left the room. I called my husband in tears because I was afraid for my poor dog, couldn't afford any of the unnecessary treatments, and was angry because I was not being listened to. Needless to stay the vet heard the conversation with my husband and had the nerve to come back in the room and give me third degree about his tail not being the problem. I was so angry I packed my sweet boy up and paid for a very crappy examination. **Well we took our sweet boy to another vet this morning and the CUT ON TAIL HAD A VERY BAD INFECTION!!!!! My husband and I had a great experience with this ER vet. Dr. Young and Dr. Holland we're extremely empathetic and kind towards our dog, who came in with pretty severe symptoms on Christmas Eve after receiving chemo treatment for lymphoma. They let us see where our dog would be kept over night and said we could come visit or call to get updates as much as we wanted. It means a lot when a vet says they're sorry to see our pet in such discomfort and that they'll take good care of her for us. They called frequently with updates and assured continuity of care as vets came and left shifts. Read Less

My neighbor started searching for emergency care for pets and thankfully we ended up at Emergency Care of Braselton. These are the most understanding and caring people. Our family dog suffers from epilepsy. A few weeks ago, he suffered a series of cluster seizures that warrented immediate medical attention, late at night. Fortunately, we reside near this pet E.R. When we brought our dog in, he received care immediately. The whole staff was kind, compassionate, and professional. The office was very clean and sanitary. The vet was very thorough in her exam and ran all the proper labs before giving our dog new meds. She even had us stay in the office for an extended amount of time to ensure that he wouldn't have an adverse reaction to the new medicine. As far as cost, I found their prices to be very reasonable, especially when you take into consideration that they are an after hours emergency clinic. No one wants to have to take their baby to the emergency room, but when it happens there are expectations. Sunday evening I had to rush three of my babies in because they started seizing after getting into the trash. The vet and the tech continuously asked me about medications that could have been in there. Repeatedly I told them the only thing in there was bad food, some ibuprofen, and coffee. They kept telling me it was none of those that their reactions are that of an upper like meth, ritalin, cocaine...things of that nature. They also kept telling me that it wasn't accusatory but that it had to be that. I kept telling them there wasn't anything like that I my trash. I even called my former roommate and asked her if she threw away any medication. Nothing. But they kept insisting. One of my babies was too far gone to save so we had to euthanize her. The youngest one was in the back and my third one just arrived via my sister. They hadn't started convulsing yet. The one my sister brought in didn't start convulsing until 20 minutes after he arrived. We kept telling then it had to be the coffee and they kept saying in all they years they've been in animal medicine this was not coffee. They sedated him but the convulsions were getting worse. After an hour of pleading with them they told me that they recommend I euthanize him because the damage was probably too great. So I made the hard decision to euthanize my second baby. We ultimately decided to euthanize all three but when they brought the third one out to say goodbye she was a little out of it but coherent. She ran straight for my boyfriends lap and clamored up. I knew then I couldn't euthanize her. We took her home and kept a diligent eye on her. She threw up several times that night and Monday morning I took her to my vet and after having her for an hour they called me and the first thing out of their mouth was, "were there any cigarette butts or coffee in that trash can?" I told them there weren't any cigarettes but there was coffee. That's when they told me it was definite signs of caffine toxcocity. Yesterday we had our follow up appointment and I was told she is out of the woods and that the vomiting is what saved her life. Had only this clinic listened to me and induced vomiting on my second dog we could have saved at least two of them. My world has been forever changed because 1) I didn't have a lot of money on me and 2) I wasn't believed when I told them what it was. I'm completely shattered and devastated.Read Less

My daughter is 18 and took money with her to pay. They wanted to run all these tests but did not tell her how much. They said that if she did not have the money for the tests, they could offer to put the kitten down or she could turn her over for some one else to care for. They also told her that Hallow, the kitten would not live past Wednesday. They charged her $95 for the visit and did nothing but temperature and basic check up. She left there thinking her kitten would die.Not long after she got her home Hallow was doing better, went to poop and was back to herself. They should have figured out the little one was just constipated and bloated instead of telling her all these serious things could be wrong with her and she was dying. Read Less

DO NOT GO HERE! There are others in the area!Read Less

Read Less

My cat has a seizure yesterday and I was in a panic, it being Saturday my normal vet was not in the office. My neighbor started searching for emergency care for pets and thankfully we ended up at Emergency Care of Braselton. These are the most understanding and caring people. They have been treating him all weekend and I have been able to go and see him and also call at all hours to check on him. No matter when I go in or call they are helpful and thoughtful. The three doctors that have been taking care of Niles are really caring and gentle with him and Amber has been a ray of sunshine for me and my daughter when we have been there. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic I am just thankful that my prayers were answered and we found them. Read Less

I would recommend their services to all pet owners in need of after hours care. Read Less

My puppy got attached by a wild animal and my daughters brought her here, they told them that it would cost $2000 to $3000 to do surgery and offered to put my dear sweet puppy to sleep! Thank God my daughters declined and took her to our normal vet the next day where they did the surgery for only $400 and my puppy is good as new!!! They were kind and helpful while they were there, but when a vet over exaggerates the cost of saving an family pet by this much, they should be ashamed!! And, their costs are outrageous, way too expensive! A lot of people would have just had them put the dog to sleep and this is just plain wrong!!! Read Less

Actually this place does not even deserve a star at all. My daughter brought her 4-5 week old kitten there because she was throwing up and very lathargic. Read Less
