My dog had a tumor appear quickly & we took her immediately on Thursday before Christmas & Dr. Sue worked her in for next morning surgery. We felt comfortable leaving her there even though we hadn't been to this location in 8 years but had recently moved to the area. We got our rescue puppy from them 9 years ago. Excellent visit. This was my tiny BFFs first time to visit the BF Veterinary Clinic and even though it is quite a distance from my home I can't imagine going anywhere else. My Haley is usually leery of new people, especially at the vet but all of the staff were "genuinely" friendly and caring. I felt at ease and so did she. Even though we were there for a less than pleasant treatment Haley was still calm and seemed to completely trust the staff even allowing them to hold her without hesitation.I cannot express how much this experience meant to me. Before I was slow to make appointments for the vet but now I have no reason to delay. Thank you so much to the staff! We recently needed a vet for a weekend call to euthanize our beloved Great Dane.  We had a horrible time finding anyone because of his size, and our vet didn't care enough to help.  Cynthia was absolutely awesome and got with Dr Sue Mansour and took care of us during our time of need.  I can never thank them enough and would recommend them to anyone!  Kind and caring, with excellent experience and knowledge.  Hard to beat.  If there were bonus stars, I would give it to them! NEVER BRING YOUR PET HERE! MY WORST NIGHTMARE...PLEASE READ!Boarded my elderly Yorkie, Roxy, here for 8 days while we went out of town. She was seen by the vet the first day she was there and groomed on the last day of her stay. Upon picking Roxy up she was EXTREMELY malnourished, skinny (to the point where we could see her bones), having trouble walking/standing. She was NOT in this condition when we dropped her off 8 days earlier! We brought her home and tried to give her lots of water and time outside.. thinking maybe she was stiff and dehydrated from being in the kennel all week (even though we paid for extra TLC and time outside). Within two days of being back home she was not eating, not drinking, and not going to the bathroom AT ALL. She could not walk, nor stand. We immediately took Roxy to her old vet in the city we recently moved from. Turns out she has a HUGE mass in her abdomen that would have been VERY apparent to ANY veterinary professional after ANY kind of physical examination of Roxy. Not only that, but our old vet told us that Roxy was anemic and they could tell just by looking at her gums (she had her teeth brushed at Best Friend Veterinary and they said nothing about her white gums)! Also, she had come down with an ear infection, eye infection, and vaginal infection during her stay and nothing was said to us...her eye was swollen shut within two days...Turns out her mass is cancerous and pressing on all of her internal organs. Her body is too week too fight the infections. We have no option but to put her down.Yesterday Roxy was given a HIGH dose of pain medicine, prescribed by her old vet, to manage her pain so she would be comfortable during her last night at home. After I submit this review I will be taking her to be put down. How did this place not notice that she was in pain?!?!?! And to the point where she was literally DYING!!!!! NOT ONCE did Best Friend Veterinary Clinic call us during Roxy's stay to inform us that she may have been acting odd or not eating enough or anything!!! We gave written permission on Roxy's forms allowing the staff to treat her should something happen to her during her stay. Because of the negligence of the staff at Best Friend, Roxy suffered in pain during her stay. She was handled by multiple people, seen by the vet, bathed, and groomed (where she was probably struggling to stand!!!!!) and NOT ONE PERSON raised ANY kind of concern! We are aware that this outcome (cancer) was inevitable whether she would have been at home with us, at Best Friend Veterinary Clinic, or at any other board during those 8 days... however I believe that her pain and deteriorating condition would have NOT gone unnoticed, overlooked, or unattended to had she stayed elsewhere. I flew home from a trip to pull my cat away from another Vet. I happen to mention it to the staff here when I came to pick up my dogs from their boarding. They immediately got me scheduled to see Cat Lady Dr. Lesnick for a second opinion. She is by far the best Vet I've seen for cats. She tried a new treatment on my cat who was suffering from liver failure that the 1st vet hadn't even mentioned as an option. It helped her get through another week. She had been sick for a while and ultimately we decided to put her down. They were fantastic through this process. Very empathetic and caring. I had her cremated and got a beautiful personal card from all the staff as well as a wonderful eco-friendly box with her ashes. I am so happy to find them. Read Less

Everyone was very knowledgeable on our situation, medication our dog (Jewelz) was taking, everything. I could ask anyone anything and they knew the answer. Editing my review to explain my 1 star review. We have used Best Friend Vet since we got our dog for everything. Healthcare, grooming, boarding. Everything. Our last encounter was not pleasant to say the least. We travel often so our dog has been boarded there multiple times. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude when I went to pick our dog up in December and I said we wouldn't be back. She carelessly said, ok. I can't imagine how they may have treated our dog if she was that rude to me while standing in front of her. We found a new place for our dog and they will be getting our business from now on including him being neutered, microchipped, groomed, boarded and whatever else he may need. I'm happy with how thorough the new office was as I dropped my pup off for his 5 night stay. Read Less

Needless to say I am disappointed in this place. We have used them numerous times for boarding. This time when we picked up our little fur baby my husband noticed they took him out of a tiny cage. We paid for an indoor/outdoor run for 8 days. They claimed he was moved because he was being picked up. We paid for the whole day. If dogs could talk he probably was left in the tiny cave for the whole 8 days. Also, they lost his blanket we took for him because it had our scent on it. How could they lose it. It should go with him where ever he is. I question if they ever gave it to him. In a bag of his things, was a nasty dog bowl that looked as though they never washed it. Guess what, it was not his bowl. What's wrong with this place? We entrust our babies with them and pay good money and this is how they treat our babies!! 1. If the price changs from free for fixing up the grooming to charging some, call the customer. If the groomer Kim has a discussion about the grooming experience and they decide to charge for fixing it, call the customer beforehand that the terms have changed 2. When I asked to see the paoerwork for prior visit, Kelly said they dont keep it. Save paperwork on what was said that I signed. Groomer Kim said I signed for a mini groom, but actually I just recall filling out a new patient form, without anything filled out for services since she was unsure of sedation or what she would need to do to cut out mats, scissors or end up shaving. She said she would try scissors for she likes cats to have some hair for her to be crazy with. The mats were clipped, but no crazy with the hair. I explained that less hair is good for he loves the back porch but he gets hot. 3. Improve tone of voice and avoid arguments. 4. Not a good idea to accuse receptionist that she she shouldn't have said "we will fix grooming." Read Less

This place is amazing. My dog, Scout, needed emergency surgery to remove a foreign object from her stomach. I called late in the morning and they had me bring her in right away. Dr. Lesnicks was very compassionate and explained the treatment needed - patiently answering my long list of questions. Surgery was performed the same day. After surgery, Dr. Lesnicks called to give a full report - once again speaking with me at length to ensure all my questions were answered. The following morning I received a call from Dr. Grasso giving me an update on Scout. That evening when I went to pickup Scout, Dr. Grasso spent a great deal of time going over home care and patiently answering yet more questions. We received nothing but the upmost care and service from Dr. Sue and her staff at Best Friend Veterinary. We took our black lab to Dr. Sue for 7 years when we found out he had a rare type of pancreatic tumor. At this time, we were abroad and immediately traveled home. Dr. Sue did everything in her power to save our lab, but his condition was so rare and far along that nothing could be done. During his sickness Dr. Sue and her staff had him at the front desk on an IV so that everyone could love on him in his final days as we were trying to get home. They transported our lab back and forth to a Veterinary ER, which meant the world to us. Dr. Sue's kind heartedness, service, and empathy were so helpful during a very difficult time. There is nothing anyone could have done to save our dog, but she and her staff did all they could in their power. I wish that we could say more amazing things about how Dr. Sue and her staff helped our family, but there will never be enough words. When we decided to get a new labrador later on, Dr. Sue wanted to be the first to look at him to make sure of his health. Dr. Lesnick was wonderful! She is so nice, and was so attentive and good with our cat who had multiple bite wounds around the base of his tail and lower back from a cat fight with a neighborhood bully. I boarded my dog here for 5 days last week over the New Year break. Upon picking her up, I was impressed by the price and she was happy to see me. I asked if there was anything I needed to know about and was told all was good. However, once home, we noticed her licking her left foot. She was also just not acting like herself. Upon checking, we saw a puncture wound on the top left inside paw that was partially scabbing over and weeping at the same time. I was shocked! The kids said she had been licking in the car and hiding her foot while in the back with them. How could the boarders not have seen this, she was bathed prior to pickup?! I went to call only to find they had closed. I called the next morning and asked them how my dog was hurt and WHY I wasn't told. They said they didn't have a clue. They set her an appt to see the vet who confirmed it looked like a puncture wound but said everyone had no idea how it happened. They cleaned it and gave her meds. They waived the exam fee but I had to cover medication costs and her collar. To be fair, the vet and vet techs provided very good care, hence the 2 stars. However, it was care that NEVER should have been needed in the first place. In my opinion, they also should have covered ALL expenses as the injury took place while she was in their care. Possibly worth considering as a vet but definitely not for boarding. Read Less

I have been taking my kids to Best Friends for 6 years now. I can't explain how delighted I am with their services. I have used them all.I used to work in a vet clinic many years ago so I drilled Dr. Sue before bringing my kids to her clinic. I have seen every vet that is there and feel comfortable with all of them. I have seen a few staff changes. And they keep getting good folks. My kids are always nervous going to the vet (aren't you when you go somewhere you don't want to be?) but the staff is fabulous about their treatment.My Boo (mixed breed dog) suffered from extreme separation anxiety and still does, but it very happy with everyone at Best Friends. Yes, it costs money. But the prices are very reasonable. My dog broke her foot, was treated for heartworm and severe intestinal distress. All were treated, and very well, by Dr. Sue and the staff. Boo loves the people there and I trust her judgement. Orin, one of my cats, had to be treated for a severe infection due to a bad bite on her neck from playing with Mayhem (my other cat) and she fell in love with everyone, too.Yes, vet bills can cost a bit. But a heck of a lot less that it would be for a human. It's an expense you have to pay with pets. But Best Friends is very reasonably priced and on par with others in the area. The thing that keeps me coming back, and bringing in pets that aren't even my own, is the staff. They are professional, knowledgeble, caring and just some good people. The doctors know their stuff and are great with the animals. Yes, they will recommend services. Yes, some of those services can be a bit pricey. But they don't force you to do anything and are truly understanding and sympathetic if something just can't be done And I have been scolded for not doing what I should have (stop feeding people food). It just reiterated the fact that they care about my kids.If ever I have a question, they are there. If I need a recommendation, they are there. If I need to hear something that I don't want to when it comes to my four-legged kids, they tell me.Not only do I recommend them but I would not consider anyone else. When I adopted my cats, I had to take them somewhere else for the mandatory shots and neuter/spay. Though the facility was nice, as was their staff and doctors, they weren't Best Friends.Best Friends is not only a best friend for animals, but for their owners as well and, unless an emergency required I take my services elsewhere, I would not consider another clinic now or in the future.Doreen Nye - VERY satisfied customer Read Less

I boarded several pets 3 yrs. ago and everything went well. I move from out of state and have 1 pet. I assumed everything would be fine. Between being surprised when I showed up to see my pet, to the next day forgetting the water dish-I was not a happy camper. So, I took him to another vet clinic and was my pet so very happy. The 2nd place actually spent time w/my pet and he was so happy. This place Best Friend, should change their name to Worst Friend. Read Less

My husband & I drove from Louisiana in the summer of 2008. We were told to evacuate due to Hurricane Gustav. At the time we had 1 golden retriever, 1 guinea pig, and 8 cats to board for at least several days. This Vet Clinic stayed open a little longer for us since we were coming in from out of town. The most awesome of Vet Clinics ever and now we will use them again to board just a few cats as we have to move due to lack of employment. We are GA bound. I had a fussy cat in 2008, and one of the vet techs cooked chicken and hand fed it to my cat. How many Vet Clinics would go out of their way to do this?????? Read Less

This has been our vet clinic for the last 3+ years since moving to North GA and adding 2 small canine babies to our family. Dr. Sue, Dr. Youngblood, and Dr. Singh, each have seen our dogs for various issues and are so kind and loving while being very knowledgeable. We rarely have had to wait more than a few minutes and frankly, this is like us going to our doctor. Sometimes things come up that get them very off schedule and it should be expected occasionally. The staff have always been very helpful and friendly and our dogs especially love Brad, even though he is often the one who takes their temperature!! He is truly a pet-lover. The only negative I can think of is that their prices seem high in comparison to what I hear my friends pay elsewhere. I have, however, found that they will match a price on Sentinel that I can find elsewhere for much less. Keeps me coming back and honestly, over the years I have found that it is very true....you get what you pay for. So if they charge a little more, oh well. We are happy with the service we get. If you live in the area (or not) and are looking for a new vet, stop in and check these folks out. They encourage "happy visits" with your pet just to get them used to going in. So take your dog in, look around their shelves or products, weigh in (your pet--not you!), say hi to the ladies, and be on your way. I think you will be pleased. Read Less

I don't generally write a lot of reviews - but felt I needed to add a comment here in complete disagreement with the other posted review. My family has numerous pets and have used countless vets and Best Friend Veterinary Hospital is at least as good (if not better) than all of them. It is a very nice, clean and professional facility, with a very knowledgeable, kind and courteouse staff - from the front desk, to the vet techs & Doctors. I have also compared their prices for treatments & services for vet treatment & boarding finding their pricing to be equal or less than their competitors. They always go over their treatments with me before we do any work - usually offering options on the treatments and pricing. They also "price match" for all meds (not sure on services) - even to online pricing. This past week we purchased the Sentinel product and the front desk team searched the web with me to find the best pricing for discounts. We absolutely love bringing our pets here and will continue to do so as long as we are anywhere near this area. Read Less

DONT LET THE LOOKS DECIEVE U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. yes its nice but Dr. sue is only there for the money. when i went there just for a simple check up she kept adding and adding to my bill. there is a blond tech.. (Older looking) and i don't know her name but she was so rude. No smile when she came in and her phone kept ringing. . the Prices are CRAZY and i can tell that this owner is only looking out for her best interest than your animals. Because of location, my wife and I use this vet for our dog. Unfortunately they have come across very ""scattered"" and unprofessional every time we have used them. It is very frustrating to deal with the people there, but we are limited in our choices in Braselton (that I know of!). Read Less

I had an emergency with my baby on the weekend, when I called my vets office they were closed and did not have any emergency numbers, the recording just referred me to a location about 45 minutes away. I called Best Friend Animal Hospital and they seen me right away. I was afraid that it would be awkward because I was just coming there for an emergency, but it was not, everyone there was very friendly and showed a genuine concern for my pet. The vet was very very nice and answered all of my questions. I was told if I needed them further that they were also open on Sunday's which I thought was great. I would recommend this office to anyone who loves their pets.Read Less

My pet almost died post a routine surgery. I called the # on the sheet in case of an emergency and no one answered until the next day. This cost us a very emotional evening as our pet was dying and the vet was no where to be found. Even if the vet had called to check in on her patient that evening it would have been nice, but nothing. We ended up at an emergency hospital where they saved our pets life as she was bleeding to death from a ruptured internal stitch. Best Friend Vet never offered us any compensation on our costs of having to find another vet save her patients life. Read Less
