I brought my pet in for an annual and grooming. Doctor was very nice and explained what they were doing and what things I need to keep an eye on. Didnt try to push things on me, explained what they recommend and gave me options so I could choose what works best for my budget. Then when I picked her up from her groom she looked amazing. I would give no stars if I could. They are totally unprofessional at this clinic. I recently needed a vet for my German Shepherd that broke her leg trying to get away from a wildlife attack and they refused to even look at her. So I went to another animal hospital in Jasper , they were very caring and took verrrrrrry good care of my German Shepherd and she is on the road to recovery. Very disappointed. On our first visit with a new kitten the Dr. seemed very nervous and was unsuccessful in dispensing oral medication...my gut told me I should step in and do it myself and never go back! Second visit to board our dog we were called 15 minutes after drop off and told we must come get him because they were unable to calm him down...he's 13! Once again, should've gone with our gut feelings but took our kitten back a year later for an emergency and ended up having another vet take care of what the Acres Mill Dr. was nervous to handle himself! I hate to make negative comments but 3rd times a charm...we'll be taking our pets to Ball Ground Animal Hospital moving forward...those folks know how to handle animals! Read Less

I was already going to be dropping $300 to board them for 10 days, but you know what I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. I won't be paying $100 for them to "physically" exam my dogs (that have DO updated vaccines and blood work) by just looking at them and saying they're good to go. I have been a customer for some time and had a cat that had kidney disease, and the kidneys finally gave it up. Cat was in bad shape, and needed a visit to Dr. Kevorkian to put him out of his misery. Of course, I did come in without an appointment, as they told me several times (how do you schedule these things?), so I understand about having a bit of a wait. An assistant came in and verified he was in bad shape, then they left me sitting in a room FOR 2 HOURS!? As I walked out with a cat in misery, not a word. Hope they got a picture of me when I left; it'll be the only way they see me in there again. There are better Vet's in the Canton area that care about your pet(s) first and your money second. The problem at Acres Mill is they have an office manager, not a Vet running things, which makes them care about your money first and your pet second. My dogs have gone to Acres Mill for years! Today one of my 6 dogs, Tabasco, got in a fight and I wanted them to look at his face during BUSINESS hours. Acres Mill didn't have any appointments or even 5 minutes available to look at him and let me know if I needed to take him to the emergency clinic for stitches. When you've cared for my dog for every bath and well check for 10 years or his 11 years of life, but won't see him when he REALLY needs it, you've lost my business and my respect. Read Less

Absolutely the worse vet ever they didn't give my in laws our dogs medicine when they were picked up and they charge you for nail cutting when they don't even do it. I do not recommend this vet to anyone! Read Less

I have been taking my 2 dogs to Acres Mill V. C. for 5 years now and they have never let me down. The entire staff is very friendly and professional. I use their boarding service almost monthly. At times I have to leave my dogs for a month at a time and I've always felt confident they were getting the best treatment during their stay. My dogs show their excitement when ARRIVING and leaving their facility. The kennel area is kept very clean and the dogs have enough space to roam while they are outdoors for play time. I have also taken my dogs in for medical issues and Dr. Alleyne has always been caring and helpful in taking care of any issues. Read Less

I started coming to Acres Mill just over 5 years ago with a dog I was fostering and this is the vet they use. Well, I'm a foster failure, but I continue to come here (despite it being over 20 miles each way) because Dr Stewart is absolutely fantastic. She diagnosed my dog's skin condition the FIRST time and got her on the right medications. Dr Stewart is very compassionate and understanding, especially since my dog is very fearful (she was removed from an abusive home). I brought my 9 year old Coonhound here today for the first time. He was non weight bearing and they were able to get me in within a couple hours which is impressive for such a small clinic. Dr. Stewart was very professional and nice. My dog behaved better than he has at previous vet that I was even a tech at. For someone who was in the veterinary field for several years I didn't get any bad vibes at all and can say the prices are reasonable for the area. Only negative is the exam rooms are quite small so it gets hot quickly with several people and a large breed dog in there :-) Read Less

I have been bringing my chocolate lab, Noah, to Acres Mill since 2005. We just had to say goodbye to him last week but if it weren't for the continued care of Dr. Stewart and Dr. Alleyne and the initial findings of his liver disease, I wouldn't have had these 3 1/2 extra years with my buddy as I did. The entire staff at Acres mill are so compassionate about their job, they always tried to help answer all my questions I would have about Noah's bumps and bruises when I called on the phone. I had used acres mill for all my pets needs including grooming and boarding. My puppy, whom I loved very much, had a skin condition which caused him to be very sick and required medication. When my dogs condition came back, I called the office not once but three times telling them and begged for the medication. They said it wasn't what was wrong with him (didn't have me come in, didn't give me the medicine). I even tried to get other vets to do the skin test but they wouldn't without a costly exam. I finally demanded that he come in and be seen. When they saw him and did the skin test, it came out positive and it had reached such severe degree that my puppy had to be put down! I told them that it may have eventually come to this but he didn't have to suffer like he was. If they had just listed to me he would not have lived his last days miserably! I really liked this office before this occurred and now I not only won't go there, I'm thinking of suing for malpractice. Listen to the pet owner...they know their pets!Read Less

Do not use this vet! Boarded my dog there and they gave her medicine I told them not too then charged my card without my permission or even informing me they were running the charge. Cannot trust them. They overcharge. Will never use again. Read Less
