An employee by the name of Cindy was very rude to me. She had an attitude when trying to ask questions regarding my pet. I wanted to make an appointment but after talking to Cindy, I changed my mind. Dr. Partin is celebrating 25 years in Hickory Flat a milestone that she has earned with the communitys respect and admiration and love for how she has taken care of all of our pets! She's a wonderful person and we're so proud of her service to the area! Dr. Fredericks is a great Veterinarian as well as he takes his time to explain in a way a laymen can understand the diagnosis! We recently moved to the Hickory Flat area and I was very hesitant to leave our old vets office. But when we got a new puppy I figured nows the perfect time to give it a try. We have been trying to find help for our foster, who is always tense, rarely sleeps, is allergic to many foods, and not very affectionate. I had taken him to two specialists and three different vets before I had him see Dr. Partin. Dr. Partin suggested having him tested for Bartonella even though he didn't have the red line on his gums that is a hallmark for this. The test came back a strong positive for the infection, and within one day of the first treatment, he became l...ike a different cat. He sleeps now as all cats do and should be able to do, lounges comfortably when not sleeping, and has become the most affectionate cat. He's like a totally new cat, and it is with such relief and gratitude that I watch him sleep, relax, and stretch - just as any "normal" cat we know lives his life. I would never have known about or had him tested for this infection, but Dr. Partin advised it, since she has seen it in other cats previously forced to live outside. I now have hope for him as someone who can enjoy rather than endure his life, and I have hope that we will be able to find him a home, since he now appears both well and has become super affectionate. I have been using Hickory Flat Animal Hospital since we first got our two cats from a local shelter. Everyone on staff has always been kind, caring, and helpful. Recently, one of our cats, now close to 19 years old, fell ill. The doctor patiently talked me through all possible treatments for my cat, and when the cat did not respond, the kind folks at Hickory Flat got me through a difficult euthanasia process. 5 stars for the Vets and the vet techs! Minus 1 star for the front desk staff. I moved from Buckhead to the Canton area and was worried about finding a great vet for my dogs. I chose Dr. Partin because she practices both eastern/western medicine and is a holistic vet. One of my dogs (Lexie) has pain in her hip and legs due to arthritis and was refusing to walk or get up often. After seeing Dr. Partin, Lexie is smiling and running/playing again. We are so thankful we found Dr. Partin.Today, I had to visit Hickory Flat again for my other dog, Lillie. I asked for whoever was available today since I will be out of town for a week and wanted to make sure Lillie was okay before I left. I'm glad they could fit us in last minute and I ended up seeing Dr. Lindner. Dr. Lindner is very sweet! The vets and vet techs here are all great. Super helpful and they listen to your concerns without feeling rushed. However...The first few times, I didn't have an issue, but today, I had a very rude lady check me out. Short blonde hair, round face. Long story short, I had medicine that Lexie couldn't use because she had a bad reaction to it so the vet said I could bring it back next time for account credit. Before I went to the vet today, I called to confirm if it was okay to use Lexie's credit for Lillie's visit. The receptionist on the phone said it wasn't a problem and that I could do so. Well, today while checking out, there was a short blonde haired, round lady that gave me attitude about it and while I was still talking (mentioning that it was in the patient's notes), she left to get up to talk to the people in the back. I wasn't even done talking! So Rude. Not once did she say, "Let me check or give me one second". She literally just stomped off to the back and then stomped back to the front, gave me the credit and told me the amount I owed. No smiling, no apology, nothing. Just a straight face. There was no need to be rude. The lack of communication skills was super unprofessional. Again, I've never had issues with the other staff members before. Dr. Partin is amazing!! Her approach to the holistic care of animals is inspiring! I am so glad that I chose her to take care of my dog after he injured his spine in an unfortunate accident. When I took him to her, he couldn't walk, after his first treatment of acupuncture, chiropractor care, and cold laser therapy he had improved. Now 6 weeks later, and 4 treatments completed, he's running, jumping, and being his old fun loving self. We still have a few more treatments ahead of us, to ensure we get rid of all the inflammation, but it's well worth it, to see my little guy feeling so great! We recently changed vets because a very sick cat of ours couldn't be seen in a timely manner, but these wonderful vets immediately saw our Buddy, diagnosed and referred him to an emergency clinic in Alpharetta. Unfortunately Buddy only lasted a few days with kidney failure but you all followed up with kind condolences. Humanity we were unused to and grateful for. My cat loves Dr. Scott! Well, love is a strong word... let's just say she is extremely tolerant of him. Dr. Scott and the staff are so good and gentle with her and make her feel at ease. I took her there once for a non-emergency issue and they fixed her right up. Dr. Scott even called personally after a few days to check up on our kitty. Dr. Lindner was great and so was Alice. Our family recently rescued a Yorkie/Poodle mix from the shelter. The dog is 9 months old and has a difficult history. Our family is very excited about our journey with this puppy, but we were nervous, too. Alice and Dr. Lindner were very reassuring and encouraging. I left the office feeling much more confident and relieved as a new puppy owner. The dog is healthy and now I feel great about being able to discipline and train the puppy to be a great member of our family. I found out my pup Jasmin had cushing's. I was so shocked because she is 12 years old and she has never ever had anything wrong with her. Needless to say I was devastated. Her vet of 10 years told me the only way  to treat her was chemo pills that cost around 500 a month. I stared researching these pills they wanted to put her on. Nothing I mean NOTHING out there on the internet was good about this approach. Heck the chemo would kill her before the disease. I could not do that to my pup. A friend of mine recommended Dr Partin. Dr Partin does regular vet medicine and holistic.I liked her the day we met. She listened to my concerns and together we started a plan to try to get Jazzie feeling better again. She called to check in and make sure what we were doing was working because this disease is tricky.  We changed her diet around put her on Chinese herbs and I am happy to say Jazzie no longer shows the symptoms of cushing's. I feel that Dr. Partin has saved my dog's life. When I took her she was so sick not playing and sleeping alot. Now she is back to running around the house and stealing her brothers toys. We just moved to the area recently from Illinois. I had never brought my dog here before. When I called because my elderly dog wasn't doing well at all they immediately said bring her right in without any questions. It turns out the problem was what I feared...she was letting go and her body was shutting down. I have never had to deal with the loss of a pet but Dr. Lindner and staff were exceptionally kind and informative through this process. I never felt rushed or pressured at all. They understood my sadness and answered every question. We had to let go of our sweet California Sunshine (chihuahua) that day after being with her 13 yrs. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do but this staff made a horrible time bearable with their kind hearts. I cannot thank them enough and highly recommend this vet. My wife brought my little dog in to have her tooth extracted the doctor said she doesn't have the skills needed to remove without killing the dog. Buyers beware!! This doctor is more nervous than the chihuahuas she looks at; and probably can't help your animal. I know mine is still suffering. Read Less

I have lived in Ga for almost 3 years now. I am a former Rescuer and have 8 dogs, a cat and two horses. A friend told me about Hickory Flat A.H after having a very bad experience at another Vet. I have brought several of my animals to them now , having seen all 3 Vets in the practice. I LOVE all of them ! They are all wonderful , compassionate , honest people that genuinely care !
