The level of incompetence at this vet is nearly incomprehensible. Last Wednesday we had our new puppy in for her initial check-up at this office (we picked her up from the pound the day before). She was experiencing nausea, no appetite, sluggishness, and bloody stool. When we picked up our puppy, all the vet prescribed for her besides amoxicillin, was Heartgard Plus for testing positive for hookworm. We immediately gave the dog the meds, but she promptly regurgitated those back up within minutes. We told the vet and picked up addl meds the next day (in liquid form), but she regurgitated those up too. We told the vet and the response was ""I'm not sure what to do"". Her symptoms were exponentially worse the following day and wasn't even drinking water, so we took her to the emergency room at Pets Are People Too. After we told the doc that came in what her symptoms were he IMMEDIATELY said that she had the deadly Parvo virus. They did the test and it came back positive right away. Per their recommendations, we immediately started treatment of sub-cutaneous fluids, antibiotics, and plasma infusions. Despite the valiant efforts of the docs there, less than 60 hours after being seen by ""doc"" harris at chamblee animal hospital, the cute, friendly, smart pup died. Subsequent follow-up with harris today as to why she didn't suspect and/or test for Parvo, especially considering she came from a pound, was 1) She didn't have the symptoms of parvo (which is completely dumbfounding), and 2) They DON'T HAVE PARVO TESTS at their office!. Good grief! You're supposed to be a freaking vet for gods sake! Bottom line, had a proper diagnosis been made at the initial visit, odds were immense (per the docs at Pets Are People too) that she would have fully recovered. It was just too advanced by the time they first saw her. Stay away from chamblee animal hospital....please. Read Less
