Comer Veterinary Hospital

Comer, Georgia
General Info
Comer Veterinary Hospital provides veterinary care to animals at every step of their medical procedure by maximizing light, space, and contact in order to ensure an effective flow in Georgia. Upon arrival, pets are free to explore their new home. The method involves scent mapping, slow movement, and selective focus on certain objects as a part of the integrated system. The clinical team monitors how animal acclimates to the floor texture, ceiling acoustics, and the presence of verticals. Every visit has a unique starting point—sometimes from the hands’ gentle palpation, and other times from the eyes or even during social acclimation. Pet owners are invited to share the places their pets like to rest at home together with the type of noise they dislike and disruptions in eating patterns. Comer Veterinary Hospital provides sophisticated medical services such as injury assessments, immune function tests, muscle elasticity evaluations, sensory aversion treatments, and chronic disease co-management. The exam setup changes as a result of the identified breath cycles and freeze cues, as well as gaze breaks and limb withdrawals. Every exam room has items such as stools, lights and barriers that can be easily removed for immediate effect. The caregiver’s journey ends during decompression. Pets are given time to adjust themselves before take-off. Owners have access to meticulously devised behavioral pacing guidelines that detail how long to wait before reintroducing stimuli, when food or touch can be given, and what signs indicate the animal is emotionally lagging behind or physically sore. Comer Veterinary Hospital partners with pets from Comer and other neighboring regions in Georgia to ensure that every stage of their visit, ranging from movement and space to sequence aspects (from entry to treatment and recovery), aligns with animal perception. Some of the services offered at Comer Veterinary Hospital include In-House Pharmacy, Cardiology, Surgery, Vaccinations, Neurology, Livestock/Farm Animal Care, Boarding, Grooming, Oncology and Dermatology. This diversity of services ensures that pet owners in Comer and the surrounding areas have access to comprehensive veterinary care, ranging from basic checkups to complex medical procedures. The clinic has always been a household name in Comer as it provides healthcare services to ensure pets lead healthy and comfortable lives.

Great if you want to sit in a car for 45 minutes or longer just to get 2 shots. Receptionist said we had to wait for a tech. Faster to make an appt to see vet then to have a tech available to give a shot. I've seen 3 cars be taken in immediately that just arrived. It's been almost an hour still sitting on the car!!!!!! I took my 7 month old dog in for our first (and only) visit today to have his incision checked from where he had been neutered by another vet at another location. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. We only had to wait a couple of minutes to be called back to a room. I was really excited and thinking I had found a new vet for my baby. The vet tech came in the room and we reviewed my dog's history as well as what brought us into the office today. She then takes my dog with her to get a fecal sample. I have yet to ever see or meet the actual vet. Moments after she went out of the room with my dog I heard a painful yelp from him. Minutes later when the vet tech brought him back to me, he was terrified and she informed me the vet pulled the fecal sample and removed the sutcher from his incision and they would both be back in a few minutes to talk to me. I have never seen or talked with this vet before in my life and she treated my dog in my absence before she came in and met me. I thought that was very inappropriate and unprofessional and as a result I will not return to this place of business nor would I recommend it to anyone who views their pet as a family member. A pediatrician is not going to treat a child in the absence of the parent nor should a veterinarian treat a dog in the owner's absence. My dog is one of my children and I expect to be treated as such! Read Less
