Comer Veterinary Hospital

Comer, Georgia
General Info
Comer Veterinary Hospital delivers veterinary services in Comer where every medical procedure unfolds with deliberate precision by adjusting light, space, and contact to gently guide animals through each step in Georgia. Upon arrival pets gain access to explore their new environment without restrictions. The process embraces scent-mapping along with slow movements and selective engagement as essential components. The clinical team observes the animal's responses to floor texture ceiling acoustics and vertical presence. Every visit presents unique beginnings—some start with gentle palpation while others commence with visual examinations or social acclimation steps. Pet owners receive invitations to disclose information such as their pet's preferred resting spots at home along with the noises their pets avoid and any changes in mealtime rhythms. Comer Veterinary Hospital offers complex medical services which include injury assessments, immune function tests, muscle elasticity evaluations, sensory aversion treatments, and chronic disease co-management. Exam structure modifications occur in response to detected breath cycles and freeze signals as well as gaze breaks and limb withdrawals. Every examination space contains elements for immediate alteration including movable stools, variable lighting options, and detachable barriers to minimize visual distractions. The caregiving process extends beyond the medical procedure and reaches its completion during decompression. Before departure, pets receive a period to adjust their orientation. Owners receive intricate behavioral pacing guides that specify waiting periods for reintroducing stimuli along with timing for offering food or touch while indicating signs of emotional lag and physical soreness. Comer Veterinary Hospital collaborates with pets from Comer and nearby Georgian regions to guarantee that every visit phase—entry through treatment to recovery—aligns with animal perception of movement, space, and sequence.

Great if you want to sit in a car for 45 minutes or longer just to get 2 shots. Receptionist said we had to wait for a tech. Faster to make an appt to see vet then to have a tech available to give a shot. I've seen 3 cars be taken in immediately that just arrived. It's been almost an hour still sitting on the car!!!!!! I brought my dog in because of constantly scratching. Dr. Strictland examined her and gave her allergy medicine. Finally, the poor dog can rest! Thank you, Dr. Strictland.

I took my 7 month old dog in for our first (and only) visit today to have his incision checked from where he had been neutered by another vet at another location. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. We only had to wait a couple of minutes to be called back to a room. I was really excited and thinking I had found a new vet for my baby. The vet tech came in the room and we reviewed my dog's history as well as what brought us into the office today. She then takes my dog with her to get a fecal sample. I have yet to ever see or meet the actual vet. Moments after she went out of the room with my dog I heard a painful yelp from him. Minutes later when the vet tech brought him back to me, he was terrified and she informed me the vet pulled the fecal sample and removed the sutcher from his incision and they would both be back in a few minutes to talk to me. I have never seen or talked with this vet before in my life and she treated my dog in my absence before she came in and met me. I thought that was very inappropriate and unprofessional and as a result I will not return to this place of business nor would I recommend it to anyone who views their pet as a family member. A pediatrician is not going to treat a child in the absence of the parent nor should a veterinarian treat a dog in the owner's absence. My dog is one of my children and I expect to be treated as such! Read Less
