My Yorkie was attacked by a pitbull and had to have his eye removed. Dr Richmond has awesome bedside manner and did a great job fixing up my baby boy. Will not go anywhere else. In an energy excellent place to take your pet. Wait times can be a little long, but when it is your turn to see vet you will not feel rushed. Vet took time to explain our dogs issue (arthritis) even drew pictures of the spine to help us understand. Certainly would use again Read Less

I would like to make a public apology to Dr Richmond, After feeling like I and my Fur baby Delila was mistreated? After Dr Richmond read my Review and the Rating he called to talk it over with me and we both realized it was a big misunderstanding?? I have used Dr Richmond for several years now and was very upset after mine and Delila’s Last visit? I was very upset and lashed out at him and his animal clinic with my bad review. I have never done this before nor publicly gave anyone a bad review. I have learned a valuable lesson in understanding. The staff here is absolutely wonderful, taking my baby in just as they should have been going home for the day..taking my hysterical panic in stride, and even trying their best to comfort me when my Angel crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. I have no doubt in my mind they did everything they could, and would ABSOLUTELY have saved him, had they had what was needed at the time. 10/10 would use again, and recommend to others. Read Less

Love, Love Dr. German and Dr. Richmond. We had a very sick baby with a blockage. Only way to fix it was surgery. Dr. Richmond used his lunch hour to do the surgery, called me before to let me know they were starting and called me after to let me know all went well. Nice enough staff from what u could tell but this was our first visit. I do not appreciate the technicians giving our puppy Great Value Cheese Wiz to "occupy" him without even asking us first. And NO this was not the dog friendly kind.. it was just the regular kind you get at Walmart. I have photos of it. This stuff isn't even good for humans! When we tell you our puppy is having some diarrhea I don't think it's a smart idea to give him cheese wiz. Really is it ever a good idea? No. We told them we didn't want to have the shots today because honestly as soon as we saw them give our dog cheese wiz we wanted to get out of there. BUT... Their was no communication and the vet came in and gave him the shots anyways. We caught him right after the first one and tried correcting him. Everything went so fast we couldn't have stopped him so we told him to do the rest of the shots anyways. He was apologetic yes but still. Needless to say we will not be returning. Read Less

I adopted my 2 fur-babies from the Animal Hospital September 2013. I have been taking them back for check ups ever since. Both cats remember the doctors & staff and they love on my babies like I do. Amazing staff & awesome care for any fur-baby. I had to bring my 7 year old Chihuahua (Boo) in due to cluster seizures. She's had seizures before but never like this and needed attention as soon as possible, however, our regular veterinarian was out due to a death in the family. I am always very cautious when it involves the health of one of my Chi's and do not like going places where we do not know the staff. I was pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked into Animal Hospital of Whitfield County! The staff was wonderful!!! Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and understanding. They took her back very quickly and Dr. German was amazingly knowledgeable about the entire situation. She made us feel very comfortable and we knew that Boo was in good hands! Boo has the medication she needs and I am happy to say that she has not had a seizure for over 12 hours now! Animal Hospital of Whitfield County is completely marvelous! I have a tiny furbaby and Dr German has been her doctor from day one. We came so close to losing her due to a reaction to a med. It was a Sat morning just before they were closing and I live almost 45 min away. I called and they told me to bring her asap. And as always every slow driver in the state got in front of me but thank goodness we made it 5 mins before they closed. Dr German meet me at the door with arms out to take her ! All I could do was cry see my Shila is a year old this month and just tips the scale at 2 lbs at that time she didn't even weight much over a pound. The staff was so kind every time I called before getting to the office and I called a lot. Dr German got her to breath and stopped the release of her body fuctions had her back on her tiny little feet in no time ! Dr German was an angel to us that day and will always be!! Shila loves to go visit her! The staff let's her stand on the counter up front and knows her by name ! I know for a fact that the doctors hurt over the lost of their furbabies just as much as any one else they cry just like everyone else when they lost one of their babies just as we do. I have seen the staff sit and bottle feed a tiny baby only a day or so old! He talked to it rubbed its tummy washed its tiny little face as well as its bottom then explained to the owner in great detail as to how they too would have to feed and wash and rub to help it get strong enough to make it! They care about our babies and our babies love them!!? I will never be able to tell Dr German thank you enough for saving my baby!!! Yes Shila is spoiled but that's what I have her for ! My family moved here from Florida with our 4 furbabies....one of our Doxies became paralyzed....Dr. German was wonderful and very encouraging. With all vets as well as doctors we have good and bad services as well as good and bad staff, however I too have received both good and bad service here, but what we sometimes seem to overlook is that they too are people with lives and issues and circumstances that we don't consider. I have 5 dogs that are patients here and have been for about 5 yrs. with a lot of emergencies and issues over the last 2 yrs and they have taken care of my babies and got them back home safe and alive with me..... They have taken care of my animals like my children and though good and bad days they do the best they can do to insure the best care for the patients (animals) they see. I will continue to use them because they have always taken the time to answer my questions and care for my animals when needed. There will always be people you don't click with in all different types of situations but that shouldn't affect your decision on the care for your animals because the doctors and staff here do the best they can for our animals and sometimes it's just their time to say good-bye and no one could have saved them...... Thank them for the job and care they do Provide because ask yourself could you do this on a daily basis? I work with an animal rescue group in an adjacent county and we use them for low-cost spay and neutering. They are very good at those types of procedures. In order for them to be able to provide those services at such a reasonable price (about half to a third the cost of other vets in the area) some of the staff may be new or part-time. I have noticed that sometimes things do not operate as smoothly as other vets I have been to. But I am thankful that they are there to provide low-cost spaying and neutering of companion animals for the area. Read Less

We have spent thousands on our pets at this vet and we have always been pleased with the vet services - however - we just had our great Pyrenees groomed during a surgery on her ear, and their defined ""grooming"" as shaving her completely. This is a terrible thing to do to this breed dog, its even dangerous in seasonal weather as they have two layers of fur.Anyone with any animal knowledge would know this about them - not to mention no one authorized it.
