I usually dont do reviews, but I dont want any pet parent to go through what I went through. I have been going there for a year. My baby Peanut was diagnosed with cancer. At first it was fine, then after paying a bill,(which was never itemized) they would add more charges a week later (which werent itemized either) i also didnt get discharge sheets, so i had to play everything by ear or talk to his other vet. The worst was the early morning of May 10. I had to rush him to emergency. I called prior and let them know i was on the way. The man that came out took his time. I used to work at an animal hospital and i tried to control my anger. He didnt act like it was an emergency and he didnt make a move to help me. I had to tell him to help me with Peanut. He didnt even help putting him on the gurnee. I had to put my baby down that morning. This place has not shown a single ounce of remorse or sympathy. They acted like Peanut was just another case. I picked up his ashes a little while ago and the only person who showed sympathy was the receptionist. It disgusts me and makes me sick to my stomach that they didn't care about the death of my Peanut. Not even his vet there. No amount of apologies can rectify this. Especially after i have posted this. They just dont care and they can keep their false sympathy to themselves. This place only cares about money. If you can , find somewhere where they care about your pet and not look at them as a case. Dont go through what I did. Read Less

I understand that the outcome of one’s visit may dictate the impressions one has or the review he/she may post. However, my experience was so horrible under all points of view and honestly that at this point I hope there was an option to give zero stars to St. Francis. I walked in at 7:30PM with a 6 year old dog that was clearly sick and unable to have a BM. The doctor walks in to see us and without saying good evening to me she tells me: “Please tell your dog to move because I am trying to sit down here”. No sense of urgency. No rush. Let just wait until tomorrow morning to have more exams done and then we can decide if surgery is required I was told several times. Long story short, he died at 3:00AM on their examination table. Bled internally to death and nothing was done to save him. NOTHING. If this is an emergency clinic, then pray that nothing serious ever happens to your beloved animals after hours because this is NOT the place to go to. Read Less

After a referral from our regular vet, my husband and I recently brought our dachshund to see Dr. Barbur for a surgical evaluation. We were very impressed with the amount of time and attention Dr. Barbur provided. She listened to us, answered all of our questions and thoroughly explained our dog's situation to us. We were specifically impressed that we were not pressured into any expensive and unnecessary tests or procedures. Several days after our appointment, our dog had another episode of pain and we reached out to SFVS via phone. Again, Dr. Barbur took the time to call us back and listen to our situation and provide excellent care and peace of mind, even over the phone. Thank you Dr. Barbur and the SFVP staff for everything you do! Read Less

I had someone watch my dog (Buddy) while I was away and I would send them mooney every month for them to care for him(groomingETC.)I get back on April 18 and find my dog in really bad condition. When I go in TO ST.FRANCIS they look at Buddy for 5 min and wrote me an estimate. The first estimate was1,025 and there was no way I could afford that so the tech went to go ask the "manager" if there was any way that they could work out a payment plan because I had495 on my care credit and no more money. The tech gets back in and tells me that the doctor is writing up another estimate.she comes back with an estimate of 895,again The only money I had was the care credit which was495.I BEGGED for them to just help my dog with the money I had on the care credit and promised to bring the rest of the money that following Monday when I got paid. The doctor and tech are telling me that the manager said no .They then charged me $100 just for an examination fee and sent him right back out the door with me in the deadly condition he was in when I brought him in. April 24th, Buddy, passed away. April 25th I go back to St.Francis and ask to speak to the manager. Matthew sat with me in a room and I explained to him the situation, come to find out he is the only manager at that hospital and he claims to not have been there the day I brought Buddy in but the doctor and the tech are telling me the manager said no to working out something for the 300 .He was sooo rude about everything. He told me verbatim "even if you paid 2,000 your dog still wouldve died" thatS something that should never be said to a person thats mouring. He brought up the policy but not once was anything said about a policy when I first took Buddy in. Not once did they tell me that their policy was all the money upfront or no service. I didnt hear anything about a policy until today when I spoke to Matthew. Matthew also told me why would he finance the rest of the payent I had to pay and I said because my dog needed urgent help and he said "well that means everone else would never pay me my money, I have the doctor to pay, I have the tech to pay and I have to get paid as well so If i financed the rest of that for you I might as well close the doors, I cant finance the money because I dont know you"- something else you dont say to someone that mourning a loss. I explained to him its like financing a car the bank doesnt know you or your history that you have behind you but they still finance you.The first time I went to that place the tech and doctor told me to my face if it was up to me then I wouldnt charge anything and help Buddy out right now. Matthew denied being there that day and not knowing what happened the first day I brought Buddy in, even though I was told that the manager was there and he said NO! Matthew also said that if hes not there then it is up to the doctor to mkae the decision. It was alot of lies going on at that place and the workers trying to make other workers look bad. Everyone basically trying to make themselves look like they were really trying to help but they couldnt bc the manager said no! My visit ended at St. Francis by getting kicked out of the hospital and threatned for them to call the cops on me. Im so hurt and livid and mad and sad and angry. They lock people up for animal abuse yet I take my dog IN and he was turned away and died a few days later. I do not get this at all. They dont care at St.Francis. they act like they care but really they dont. All they care about is their money just like Matthew explained that he has to get paid and so does everyone else. ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY. THEY ARE CARELESS WHEN IT COMES TO ANIMALS. THEY ARE JUST THERE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY SO THAT THEY CAN GET THEIR CHECK.MY DOG IS DEAD AND GONE NOW ALL BECAUSE ST.FRANCIS DIDNT WANT TO WAIT ON 300. IT WAS ALL A RACE THING BECAUSE I AM AFRICAN AMERICAN. IM PRETTY SURE IF A WHITE PERSON WENT IN THEIR WITH THE SAME SITUATION THEN THEY WOULDVE BEEN TRYING TO FIDN A WAY AND PULLING STRINGS TO HELP THEM. I brought my cat to this vet hospital after she had been run over. I thought for sure they were going to tell me that she needed to be put down. I was very upset and it was obvious. From the moment I walked in, the staff was AMAZING! They were empathetic to my sorrows and were so patient and kind. I was so grateful to EVERYONE I interacted with, the people at the front desk, the Vet Techs and the Veterinarian. They all listened to my concerns with care. We did a step-by-step evaluation of my cat to avoid an extremely high bill as that was a concern of mine. We were able to come up with a plan to care for my cat and the MD gave me hope. When I was leaving to head home I had an unexpected wait time but to my pleasant surprise, I was waiting while the kind Vet Tech filled my cat's pain medication in separate syringes so she would be getting the correct dosage and it would be easier for me...I was SO APPRECIATIVE. The "little" things they did made this such a wonderful experience at such an emotional time. I have raved to many people since my experience here and wanted to take the time to write a review as well. Read Less

Our normal vet sent us over to St.Francis immediately after taking an Xray as my pup likely needed GI surgery. From the moment I walked in I felt uncomfortable. The vet tech didn't acknowledge me or my pet, had no idea what was going on, and acted like she didn't care at all. Once they confirmed I needed emergency surgery they were extremely pushy, insensitive, and rushed me to make a $5000 decision because "the surgeon isn't here all night". I felt so uncomfortable I decided to take my pup to Village Vets also in Decatur. Not only was their customer service amazing, but they were HALF THE PRICE for the same surgery & quality care. Maybe this was an isolated event, but obviously if i'm at a specialists this is a stressful situation and some tact would be appreciated. Read Less

My sweet puppy, Herbert, has been at Saint Francis for the past 2 weeks receiving aggressive treatment & around the clock care. This whole process has been so scary and challenging, but the entire staff at Saint Francis have been SO kind, helpful, compassionate, and caring through it all! I know that my baby is in the best hands possible! They have given me such peace over these past 2 weeks. Before his health issues began, I had never been away from my pup (he’s only 4 months old). The staff and doctors at Saint Francis have been so understanding of that and they let me come visit him as often as I can! I receive updates twice daily from the vets and they each spend quality time with me to discuss Herbie’s progress. Every time I speak to a veterinarian on the phone or in person, we have a thorough conversation regarding any updates, next steps, and how much things will cost. I am VERY impressed with the entire staff. Dr. Rehman is the primary vet he has seen — she is WONDERFUL and I can’t say enough about how much we appreciate her! Dr. Baysinger was his surgeon and she is GREAT! Dr. Belz was SO helpful when we first brought him in!! Dr. Smith, Dr. Ehrlich, and Dr. Lammers have been so reassuring & kind! The veterinary assistants have been phenomenal— they have provided such love to my pup! Shout out to Jennifer, Erika, Ashley, Terrence, and Raesha! The hospitality and front desk crew are amazing — shout out to April, Candice, Briana, Sandra, Kiara, and Chancey! Herbert has made the rounds and gotten to know basically everyone (sorry if I left any names off this list!) I could go on and on, but I want everyone to know how AMAZING this place is! They are literally saving my puppy’s life! I couldn’t be more thankful for the love and care they show him every day that he’s been there! Take your pet there — don’t hesitate! They are PHENOMENAL! Saint Francis, THANK YOU from the bottom of this dog mom’s heart! Herbert & I LOVE you! Read Less

Everyone at Saint Francis was fantastic to work with, from the front desk staff to the Vet and Tech who took great care of my baby. There was a long wait to be seen but they made that known from the beginning of our visit and regularly checked in. I wasn't upset because this is an ER and they were so communicative. They were super gentle and patient when my dog was nervous of the exam room and they went above and beyond to answer all my worried questions. It was so convenient when they came out with a bag of all the medicines needed with specific instructions typed out to take home. Hopefully we don't ever have a need to go back but if we do, I'd choose them over anyone else! Highly recommend. Read Less

Diagnosis was thorough and the doctor explained every step of the way. They gave me an estimate of the cost before they did any treatment, this was a big plus! We had to wait 3 hours before being seen, but we had to be bumped twice because of more critical patients, which i understand, if my baby was dying, I'd want to be seen first too - its just triage. I will always bring my babies here in the future, cannot recommend highly enough. Read Less

Veterinarians never cease to amaze me. Always on the hunt for the extra dollar. Zero ethics is now the norm. Brought my dog in due to suspected obstruction in the GI tract (hyperactive bowel sounds, bilious vomiting, decreased appetite). Went in for an x-ray to rule it out early to avoid having to get surgery due to waiting too long. He had vomited ~4 times over 3 days without much volume. Otherwise he was fine. I just wanted to rule it out. They refused to perform a diagnostic test unless I agreed to give him IV fluids and an anti-emetic. This blew my mind, even though it probably shouldn't have. Vets now are all about the bottom line. Removing all patient autonomy and extorting every last penny are the rules they live by. I would never think that any healthcare worker regardless of what animal they treat would withhold a diagnostic test because the patient didn't agree to a treatment. I guess I've seen it all now.Let me give some human examples:A patient comes in to the ER with right upper abdominal pain. Gallstones or cholecystitis is suspected. A pain medication and IV fluids are routinely given to help alleviate the pain. The patient would like to hold off on the pain medication. The ER doc tells them that he/she will not perform an ultrasound to rule out acute cholecystitis or gallstones unless the patient takes the medication. Patient is told he can take it or leave. Patient goes home and dies overnight due to sepsis from a ruptured gallbladder. THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!!!!! YOU ALWAYS DO THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST!!! ALWAYS!!!A patient comes in to the ER due to a motor vehicle accident. She is Jehovah's Witness. The patient's vitals are stable. They have a firm swollen and bruised abdomen. Hemoglobin is 5.7. The doctor suspects an abdominal bleed. The patient refuses blood transfusion.  The doctor then refuses to do an ultrasound to rule out acute abdominal bleed due to the patient's unwillingness to receive blood products. ONCE AGAIN, THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE IT IS THE ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY OF A HEALTHCARE PROVIDER TO RULE OUT SIGNIFICANT/LIFE THREATENING ILLNESS!!!!Lucky for them we caved and got IV fluids (great profit margin). Ended up spending $160 and never got the xray that we came for because we couldn't afford everything together (xray $255, unnecessary medication $60). Still don't know if our dog has a blockage. Will have to find someone that still remembers the reason they got into medicine. As healthcare workers, it is our job to diagnose and treat while also maintaining patient autonomy. What happened me today represents a total lack of ethics. I wish I could say this is an isolated case, but this mentality has completely permeated the Veterinary profession. Read Less

I had a dog with symptoms of Kennel Cough, but we had just come from a region affected with Canine Influenza. His symptoms were getting increasingly worse, and less and less like a typical case of Kennel Cough, so I called ahead to St. Francis to see if they would see him. With Dog Flu, there are strict procedures to follow to insure that the whole facility isn't infected. They told me to come over, knowing that I feared my dog had Kennel Cough, and possibly Flu. They told me that their procedure was to have infected dogs come in through the front of the building, and go straight to the isolation ward. When I got there, I called and they told me to wait outside with my dog by that door, then took over 10 minutes to come out to us. Once they did come out, the tech wasn't in protective gear- no gown, no gloves. He pet my dog, told me they didn't have an isolation ward, that they couldn't see us, and sent us away. I assume he then went back inside and spread whatever germs were on my dog to the other clients. I'm never going back. Read Less

Whom ever decided to put Saint in the company name was spot on accurate. I stumbled across this wonderful establishment on completely terrible terms. My precious 11 week Shit zu was passing away right before my eyes and I was scared and freaking out. I called Saint Francis around 11 at night and immediately gotten the confirmation to bring in my pup in to be examined. When I arrived the nurse and front desk person were ready and knowledgeable of my concern and they took Romeo(my dog child) to be examined. I experienced the highest level of customer service along with beverages and general comfort during a difficult time. While waiting to hear back from the doctor the young lady at the front desk was attentive yet also gave me space to get my thoughts together. Dr. Danielia Bender and her staff were completely professional, compassionate and all around amazing people. Even though the situation was terrible I did not feel alone, rushed to make decisions or neglected. I have been to a number of animal emergency clinics with pets over the years and this clinic far surpasses all of them. My brother's cat was diagnosed and treated there and I was incredibly impressed with the care. All the staff and the vet were unfailingly kind and patient, giving us plenty of time to ask questions. We were there the day before Thanksgiving and they were very busy and apologized several times for the wait. The diagnostics were excellent - and his cat was not the easiest to handle. They gave options for treatment and very clear up front estimate of the costs. We did not feel pressured to opt for expensive treatment. His cat was very old and in kidney failure. They were gentle but honest about euthanasia probably being the right choice. This helped my brother to feel like he was making the right decision to put his beloved cat to sleep with no guilt or regret. The euthanasia itself was very peaceful and unhurried and they let him hold his cat on his lap. Lastly, treatment costs were not the extremely high end I have paid at other e-clinics, they were the costs you would expect at a regular vet clinic. St. Francis truly lives up to its name in the kindness and care it gives to animals and their people. Read Less

Dr. Rehman and Dr. McCown tried so hard to help our Bunny get better but he also had to cross the rainbow bridge at St. Francis. Dr. Rehman handled both Shady and Bunny's last day with such compassion and tenderness. We left Bunny's carrier there, and it somehow was inadvertently donated to a shelter. My older cat just had an emergency over the weekend and Dr. Peters and the staff at Saint Francis were very compassionate and just great with her - and with me. Dr. Peters was especially considerate in not using any sedatives for the cat's x-ray (she's a docile cat), and although I took her back in the following evening, my bill was minimal the second time. While it's always expensive to take a pet in after hours to be treated, I am very impressed with the facility's cleanliness, and with everyone's professionalism. I hope I don't have to return anytime soon, but it's good to know there's a wonderful and caring pet hospital just around the corner. Read Less

My dear cat had eaten a piece of string of unknown length (the evidence of which was hanging down behind her) and I called St. Francis for advice. They were kind and knowledgeable on the phone and I made the decision to bring her by after work. Everyone greeted me with a warm heart, and we went back right away. Their "cat side" manner was superb, and they ran me through different options of care as needed. They also ran me through the charges as the were being added, so I had an idea of how much it was going to cost. Luckily, the least invasive option was the right one, and she came home with me an hour later, string free. The visit was not cheap, but the care was worth every cent. It is my hope that I will not need to visit soon, but I am reassured that St. Francis is there for me if I need it. Read Less

I took my senior dog (13 Years old) here for additional diagnostics at the suggestion of my regular vet.  My pet was losing weight, and not eating as she used to. During her yearly visit, the vet suggested an X-Ray of her liver to see why her liver enzymes were elevated.  When that didn't clearly provide an answer, they referred me to St. Francis for ultrasounds.I found the visit with SFVS to be pleasant, and everything was clearly explained prior to any service being performed.  My vet had also suggested ultrasound of the heart to further diagnose a murmur that my dog has had for many years.I declined the heart ultrasound, explained to the SFVS Dr. why, and she agreed that it was not critical.  I was given a sheet of what would be performed, and what the cost would be.  When I picked up my pet, the bill was in line with expectations.I was impressed with the facilities, and was eager to find a 24 hour emergency veterinary hospital that was not far from where I live that was reliable and able to provide a wide range of services that I think I might need for my elderly dog.My only negative about my experience with SFVS was the cost of the services.  However, since I don't do this with any regularity, I could not determine if the prices were in line with market since I really have no experience in this level of services.  I do trust my regular Vet, and feel he directed me to the right place, so overall, I'm satisfied.Since I've only been once, I rated them only 4 stars instead of 5.  I will go back, should it be necessary. Three times we have experienced Dr. Smallwood immediately diagnosing Sarah Lee's unusual senior related illnesses and truly saving her life each time. Not sure how many lives a dog has, but we guess, at 15, Sarah Lee has 6 more saves left for Dr. Smallwood. We also experienced wisdom, love and respect from Dr. Smallwood and staff when sadly there was no hope for our precious 16 year old, Ivy. There is such a comfort knowing that Saint Francis's emergency specialists and Dr. Smallwood and staff are there for our family! It's been several years since my experience with St. Francis.  We had to use them at the suggestion of our veterinarian due to a stomach blockage.  My vet conferred with the St. Francis vet regarding continuity of care and recommendations, and we were informed of the treatment plan. When we arrived, the treatment suggested and administered was very different than what we had been told and what was originally decided upon the day before between our vet and the vet at St. Francis.  Our pet was sedated in a way that took 2 days for him to recover, his stomach was shaved for no reason at all, and we paid a lot of money to leave with the blockage intact.  Rather than write a review at the time, we have opted since then to take our pets to different emergency/specialty clinics, despite our veterinarian continuing to recommend St. Francis. The reason I'm writing this review now is that I'm concerned about St. Francis's representatives responding to negative reviews and disclosing private patient information.  As a human healthcare provider, I was curious as to the confidentiality requirements of veterinarians and found the AVMA Code of Ethics, which includes, "The information within veterinary medical records is confidential. It must not be released except as required or allowed by law, or by consent of the owner of the patient."  Patients/clients are allowed to "violate" confidentiality (because they are not obligated to keep anything confidential), but medical/veterinarian providers are not, even when the patient/client does. My review of Georgia law does not suggest that responding to public negative reviews is an allowed violation of confidentiality.  Given that negative reviews on a public review site do not constitute an exclusion to the ethics rule or the law, every response to a negative review on Yelp constitutes a violation of confidentiality unless the owner has provided explicit consent to do so.  While a representative may respond to my concerns about confidentiality, please note that I am explicitly requesting that the care of my pet not be discussed on this or any public forum. I have unfortunately had to take 2 dogs here over the last three or four years. I say "unfortunately" because it is never a good time when you need to take your pet to a hospital, but FORTUNATELY St. Francis is an excellent place to have to take your pets to. The first pet I brought to St. Francis was my dog Zero, he had aggressive cancer and the staff helped make the last days as comfortable as possible. My other dog Rhea just keeps hurting herself as she gets older and has been in to see the doctors 2 or three times now. The staff is always friendly, listen and explain things clearly. Estimates for all procedures are discussed and printed out so there are no surprises. On the last visit our final bill ended up being less than the estimate, which is always a nice thing. I also like that when they discharge the patient you get a nice folder with a "patient summary" of the diagnosis, the treatment, and follow up treatments. It is also nice to know they are a 24 hour emergency care clinic, I have taken advantage of this as well. I was referred to St. Francis by my vet and I would not hesitate to recommend them. Read Less

The latter experience was great, the staff were super friendly, the vet listened carefully to all the concerns I had and answered all my questions. She was also wonderful with my cat. My emergency visit was not quite as great, long wait even if we called ahead and they kept here there for a few hours and took quite some time to get back to me. She ended up being given antibiotics for nasal congestion and they didn't help which is why we took her back to see the internist who diagnosed her with asthma and she received the proper medication. It was unfortunate that the correct diagnosis was not made immediately but her symptoms were not that obvious so I am not upset about it. Read Less

My precious dog was admitted into Saint Francis back in May 2015. She had a treat lodged in her throat and then developed Aspiration Pneumonia. I can't even begin to express how traumatic this was for me to see my dog this ill, there was a day there where I thought she was going to have to be put to sleep, but thankfully that didn't need to happen. The Veterinarian's (especially Dr O'Neill) were AMAZING! Not only did they save her life, they treated me with the utmost respect and compassion during her week long stay. Whenever I called in the middle of the night to check on her, they were so accommodating...even at 2am :). Don't be fooled!! So many of the good reviews are YEARS old and IMO new good reviews seem fake. This hospital schemed me and others!!!I'd suggest to find another hospital if you value the life of your pet. This hospital has a bad rep with good vets because of their practices.I was recommended here and they said my baby had intestinal cancer and they needed to do a VERY EXPENSIVE surgery right away. My baby was not only 13 but had a heart murmur and I insisted this was a HORRIBLE idea. The staff told me she could die within 6 weeks if I didn't do it. In my opinion, this was a LIE just so they could get as much money from me as possible (and The vet tech also PROMISED me that everything would be fine and they'd done this before). Unfortunately I didn't know that until after the procedure when my cat had a heart failure and ultimately died due to their actions. They gave a boatload of reasons ("it would have happened eventually") but again specialist vets refuted their claims and all she had was a MILD CASE OF IBS!!! (by looking at the X-rays St Francis took!) and she wasn't Maine coon (they told me this was the reason she had heart failure). They LIED to me to get MONEY and didn't even care that they killed my child. And if the law didn't look at animals as property I would have had this place shut down, but I can't even sue them for the 15k I spent on her healthcare and I lost my child and the only love I had in my life. They might as well have killed me too. The doctor, Dr. McCown even ADMITTED SHE MADE A MISTAKE to my primary vet. But the owner, Dr Smallwood still stood by her. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO PUT THE LIFE OF YOUR LOVED ONES IN THE HANDS OF PEOPLE THAT DO EXPENSIVE UNNECESSARY PROCEDURES THAT KILL THEM AND ALL THEY CAN SAY IS THEY MADE A MISTAKE???Icing on the cake was they still tried to collect the money from me from when I took her back in right after the surgery once I realized she'd had heart failure. They charged me for their mistake too! My first thought was when I walked in was they saw two opportunities to squeeze me dry. Read Less

The staff and vets are compassionate, attentive, and got the job done on each of our 2 after-hours visits. Grateful for their care and availability when we needed them! Both visits, we left with the tests and information we needed to know what to look out for and what follow up we needed. 4 stars, not 5, because:This time, the staff put another patient's bloodwork into our discharge packet, not ours...presumably they put our info into their packet. Needless to say, this is not professional; I want to share our labwork with the primary vet and family, not other patients. If this were a human patient this would never fly! I know this and other vets strive to provide the best patient care for our pets and will want to improve. As of the more recent visit (either it was significantly more noticeable than our previous visit, or it's new since then), the facility used fragrance plug-ins. Given it's a health facility -- and particularly, a specialty/emergency vet whose patients' livers/systems more likely than not already are overtaxed/overworked -- it would make much more sense to use a fragrance free enzyme-based deodorizer like Airzyme rather than fragrance which requires all of our livers to process additional toxins in the hours/days/weeks following exposure. If you and/or your pet are chemically sensitive, beware!Update: On our following visit, the staff worked with us to remove the fragrance plug-ins in advance of the visit! Thank you, thank you. There was still lingering fragrance -- as it takes time to fully detox -- and it made a huge difference. Read Less

I am very grateful the doctors were able to save the lives of my two dogs after they ingested an entire bottle of Rimadyl. We were treated with compassion upon check in and received regular calls with updated info on their condition. This level of service is to be expected from an emergency care facility.I was displeased, however, with the injury one of my dogs sustained while in-patient and the subsequent way this injury was dealt with from staff. She apparently nudged her e-collar against the cage so many times that she rubbed a large spot on her neck raw. I was not surprised by this at all because she had extreme separation anxiety. What was surprising was that she was prescribed a topical steroid that is toxic when licked (I had TWO dogs inpatient at the facility) and I was charged for the medication. When I returned to pick up some toys the next day I spoke with the nurse on duty about the situation and was told I would receive a call later in the day since they were busy at the time. I never received any follow up at all, not even on their condition after the toxicity treatment. This left me with the impression that once you pay, they really don't care...This combined with the way I was rushed at check-out really left me upset. The nurse who checked me out flew threw how to administer a total of 6 medications and then as i was walking out handed me a box of  liver medication and told me she'd forgotten about that one...that was the most important one in my opinion since it was their liver levels that were quite high. Since I brought my concerns to them and was promised a follow up but never received so much as a phone call, I have to give 1 star. If I am ever in a situation again where my dogs need emergency care, I will go elsewhere.O o  / Read Less

Read Less

My precious 11 week Shit zu was passing away right before my eyes and I was scared and freaking out. Read Less

I've been cheated out of my money and now my baby girl is gone.cause they couldn't give up on blood. Read Less

My dog Butter had been sick for 3 months with elevated values for his liver. After months of illness and no answers, I was referred to the St. Francis Veterinary Specialists. They were able to see Butter within the week that I called and diagnosed him with a gall bladder issue. They were professional, prompt, and attentive. If St.Francis wasn't a specialty vet, I would switch all my services for my dog here. They are friendly, thorough, and able to speak to you on a level you can understand when talking about the anatomy and physiology of your dog. Also they were able to give me costs and explained my options when it came time to pick treatment for my dog. Go here and your pet will get the kind of care that all humans should get in the healthcare system. Read Less

Read Less

I was very happy with the serviceI received at St Francis. I took my cat there twice, once for an emergency visit and the second time for a scheduled appointment. Read Less

Service here is excellent. It's not cheap, but then again, there isn't really an affordable option when it comes to pets. For what it's worth, they tried their best to try to diagnose our cat with what information was available. In the end, it was one knowledgable vet that happen to encounter or know about rare reactions to vaccines that was able to figure out what was wrong with our cat. They're open 24 hours a day, so sometimes you don't have any other options, but at least its not a bad one. It's odd that the line for 5 stars is "As good as it gets!" since I really don't like this place.  I don't like it because it's an emergency vet hospital and all of my dealings have been expensive and sad.  That being said, this business earned 5 stars and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.  I just hope I don't have to.They're open 24 hours a day and my pets have been seen right away.  It's expensive but in-line with every other vet I've used.  The doctors and staff have always been great and any charges were explained in advance, no surprises.  I hope to never walk through the doors at St. Francis's again but if my pet needs it, they're the first place I call. Also, when my little girl came home, they followed up with me regularly and Dr O'Neill would always call me back if I had questions.  If I ever have an emergency in future (hopefully not), I will be there without hesitation.

I've used this clinic a couple of times and found the staff friendly. The facility is fairly new. It is clean in smell and appearance, and colorful as well. Everyone is professional. The veterinarian Dr. Smallwood, is knowledgable, clean, friendly and will take her time explaining procedures to you. There is no feeling of being rushed. Do plan on doing a little research on your pet's condition and medications, and medication side effects in advance though. The doctor can't always catch everything at first glance. Read Less
