We have two (special needs) dogs and a cat that go to WCHA. I can't really say enough good things about this place. Dr. Bickley is v. knowledgeable, patient, and kind. He always answers all our questions and is just clearly a nice, understanding person. I LOVE the vet tech that always works with him. He's so friendly with our animals. One of our dogs has fear based behavior issues that we've been working on intensely through a board and train and weekly lessons for a year and Dr. Bickley does his best to help him + us get through his appointment. He also helped us put Forest on prozac, which has helped him a lot. Our other dog has epilepsy and the Dr. has been great and checking in with us since she also sees a neurologist. Everyone is just so wonderful at this animal hospital and we've moved away from the neighborhood, but still drive back to see Dr. Bickley bc it's v. v. worth it. Read Less

If I could rate no stars I would! My daughter and I just left from WESLEY CHAPEL ANIMAL HOSPITAL this morning and walked in with my rockweiller and the veterinarian came out and said" PUT DOWN THAT FORM !! I WILL NOT LOOK AT THAT VICIOUS DOG!! YOU GET OUT OF MY PLACE RIGHT NOW AND DON'T COME BACK HERE AGAIN!!!! The point of this post is not about how my dog was acting but how the veterinarian was acting towards me and my daughter. He was acting vicious himself towards me. I felt so humiliated, angry and confused all at the same time. Now if you only like certain animals at your animal hospital then he could have asked me to speak with him in private or whatever but to come right out of the door and said ALL THOSE WORDS WITHOUT NOTICE WAS DISGUSTING!! I looked at a guy that was there cleaning the bookshelves and the receptionist and they gave me a sorry can't help you look. I did get a referral to visit them and I was told that they were really nice and handle dogs well. Boy......WAS THEY WRONG...!!!40 YEARS OF SERVICE I WAS TOLD THE DOCTOR HAS BEEN THERE. Best Vet and Staff Ever!  This last May, we almost lost our much loved Ramsey. He got sick while I was in Florida. I drove straight home on Monday when I was told he was going to stay overnight at the vet. Exited Glenwood Road at around the time Wesley Chapel Animal Hospital was about to close. Drove up and ran inside and asked if I could see Ramsey. This was the first time he had been away from us overnight in 11 years. Ramsey was still a little groggy from his procedure and looked so pitiful. I got down on the ground and loved on him and hugged and talked to him assuring him that he was going to be ok. I asked Dr. Bickley if I could leave Ramsey a blanket that I happened to have in the car. Just wanted him to have familiar smells and a comfort item. Thanks to Dr. Bickley, Julian and Kim, our Ramsey pulled through and we were able to pick him up the next afternoon. The doctor called a few days later to check on Ramsey. That meant everything to us!! Took Ramsey in for a follow-up and Dr. Bickley said he was doing so much better. Dr. Bickley cared for our Ramsey as if he was his own. We are forever grateful to Wesley Chapel Animal Hospital and the staff. They are all so friendly and so kind. They really do take a special interest in your fur babies. My pets had been  seeing Dr. Lucado for about 8 years. I have 3 dogs and a cat that all get medications on a daily basis and regular vet visits. I was extremely disappointed that when I called when they opened to get my dog in on a Saturday due to a draining abscess on his mouth, I was told they were too busy! I explained to them it was a large abscess that I noticed and it was infected.  I was still told no. I was forced to switch vets immediately. I felt they were not at all concerned with taking care of my dog. I did walk into Cypress Creek AH and they were very willing to see us without an appointment. I'm glad I did see another vet because they agreed it would have been serious if I waited until Monday. The staff they had in the past would not have hesitated to squeeze us in. Read Less

Best vet visit ever. The doctor was amazing withmy cat, who is usually pretty cranky when it comes going to the vet. A very small and comfortable office. I love this place and everyone there, I was in search for a vet near my house when my 4 month old kitten broke something on his foot. I soon after that rescued at least 20 baby kittens. Dr. Bickley became our vet about 12.5 years ago when we got Gunny, our beloved bulldog. He kept our boy healthy and happy right up until his last day. 12.5 years is a very old age for a bulldog! Dr. Bickley has taken care all of my children for over 15 years. As a matter of fact as long as I am within an hour distance my child will be one of their patients. Back in 2002 I had a knee replacement and it was difficult for me to get in and out of the car No problem, I would just pull up to the door and my child would get out of the car to enter the building on her own. We found Dr. Bickley and his staff by doing a random search of veterinarians in our area. However random it was that we happened to live near the animal hospital, we were very lucky to find it. Dr. Bickley first started taking care of our older cat. When we took him in after several years of no check-ups, he not only took care of keeping everything up-to-date, but made several suggestions that he was NOT being paid for. Not only that, but he did not give him vaccines that he did not need as an indoor cat. This meant he wasn't making as much money on the visit! So when we got our kitten, of course, we took him to Dr. Bickley. He has taken excellent care of him, and is very thorough. When we took him in to have him fixed, he kept him overnight for observation, just to make sure he was ok. I don't know any other vets who do that. Every experience we have had with Dr. Bickley has been very good.On top of that, he has a wonderful, friendly, caring staff. They are very knowledgeable, and seem to really enjoy their job. On a Sunday morning in the early 1970's, Dr. Bickley was on call for emergencies. My Vizsla puppy got an uncooked soup bone over her lower teeth and jaw. Dr. Bickley sawed it off. (There were no animal emergency clinics back then)When entering the practice it is clean and odorless. There are more wonderful books, pictures and unususl anilmal art that boggles your mind. My children are furry, four legged and frequently gaseous. They mean the world to us, and we have tried several vets over the years with little satisfaction. Dr. Bickley has been a godsend.After some frankly horrific encounters with one vet and his questionable care for our ailing, ageing pitbull, we moved yet again to a new vet, and chose Dr. Bickley. The moment I walked into his office I was overjoyed and confused. It did not smell like anything. This is an amazing and wonderful detail often overlooked by vets. I am very sensitive to strong foul orders, and also to the bleach that is often used to clean/mask the odor causing substances, and here I smelled neither and could breathe without gagging.When you see the vet, the assistants pick your pup up gently and place him on the table. In the past, I have had to do this myself, and having two dogs over 80lbs makes this difficult if not painful. The Dr. is kind and gentle and explains everything he is doing.Their checkups have been quick, Heidi's "september itch" has finally , after 8 years, been diagnosed, and we now know how to fix it. Our beloved Otto the pitbull has had his teeth carefully cleaned, and is in tiptop shape since his health scares of three years ago.Billing is quick and easy to understand. The office returns your phone calls and in fact gives you a follo wup call to check on your pet after any tests or major procedures. I really appreciate this kind of customer service.
