Dr Nehring and her clinic staff have provided excellent care to all our pets for over three years since we have been stationed at Ft Gordon. They know us and all our pets by name as soon as we walk in, the staff is always friendly and accommodating; they have stayed late for us on more than one occasion when we couldn't get a pet in during regular hours due to work requirements. I honestly believe Dr Nehring and her Staff love animals, they have stood by us and guided us through some very difficult decisions with our senior cats and have kept our younger pups healthy. I highly recommend the VCA Columbia Clinic and Dr Nehring's practice for your pets.Read Less

About a year ago we took my very old and very sick cat there and they gave her a good care. The staff was nice and the female Vet on hand was nice also and thorough. Treatment pricing options offered at first was very high at first and I was becoming frustrated but a more affordable alternative treatment was then offered and it all fortunately worked out. The female vet even called a week later to ask about our dear old cats condition. Which was much appreciated. I would have awarded a 4 star rating if 1st treatment option pricing wasn't such a shock.Read Less

I have been bringing my poodles here for 5 years. I have had a great experience. They are very aware and understanding of the need to be conscious of expenses regarding pets...meaning they are not JUST trying to make money. They have been great about helping to make sure I do the best for my pet while not spending unnecessary money. They bring in a list of items that "should" be done, it is computer generated, but if you ask they are great at letting you know which are not necessary, not just trying to pressure you into having everything done. They offer a military discount. I have been able to get my animals in right away when something worrisome has occurred. Dr. Neiring is very sweet and kind. She clearly cares very much for animals and is thorough and very willing to explain things when necessary. She is not bubbly, but certainly not rude. The techs and office assistance have always been wonderful! We will continue to go there. I have been very pleased. Read Less

They were able to see me immediately without having an appointment for urgent care of my pet. I was not pressured into tests that might not be necessary, but first given a written price break down which allowed me to select the best option for my pet and budget. First visit was free (the exam) and large samples were given of recommended food (which the cat needs due to urinary tract issues). I felt everyone there was gentle and patient with my cat. I felt very comfortable that he was in good hands as they took him into another room for x-rays and blood work. I would go back there in the future as I did not feel I was being over sold by any means. Thanks! (and with a cat that hates the car it helps that you all are so close to my home!) Read Less

Took our cat in for a routine check-up and ended up having what seems to have been unecessary surgery at an expense of $545. We were informed he was suffering from teeth being reabsorbed which is common, according to my own research. The vet swore the cat MUST be in a lot of pain so I unquestioningly scheduled the surgery. Afterwards they tell me he had 4 other teeth which reabsorbed and have completely healed by themselves with no complication. They also said I might have to repeat this surgery on 4 other teeth which would cost 2500!! I noted that the cat never showed any signs of discomfort, never stopped eating, no behaviour change not the slightest hint of discomfort to which the vet had no response other then he must be in pain. She had no real response to my concern this surgery, which is always a slight risk and traumatic, was unnecessary. They completely ignored the questions and had no rationale for why this one tooth needed surgery when ALL the others had completely healed natural with no apparent discomfort for my cat. I feel mislead into risking/traumatizing my cat so they could make some extra money. Read Less
