If I could rate them less than a star I would. The only reason we chose this vet period is because they could see our dog within an hour of when we called. He was very sick with Parvo. Now I see the ploy used. I thought when I first talked on the phone with them that they really cared about the animals, but after having my dog examined and a preliminary estimate as well as everything else and what weve went through over the last day, I see they are just looking for money like most other vets and animals lives as well as working with people finances are of very little importance to them. Would reccomend you let you pet pass at home instead of going to this place. Would never reccomend any one go there. Will never be back and hope to never see the scum that work there on the street. My dog became ill and I took him in. First visit they xrayed him and various other things ($$$$$). Sent me home with pain meds and anti nausea meds($$$$$). My dog only got worse. Took him back, lots more tests($$$$) and i was told i would need to take him yo a specialist intern for dogs in buford to stabilize him further!!!!! Over 600$ and no results. It would be an additional 2000.00 at Buford!!! I called murrayville vet clinic, they tested and fixed him in one low cost visit!!!! Talk about overpriced!!!!!! Read Less

So disappointed with our experiences at Animal Medical on Thompson Bridge- I'll start by saying we have been customers of theirs for over four years now and have taken Blaze and Luna there since they were puppies.. checkups have all been great and never really had anything to complain about other than long wait times here and there etc. We do go out of town a good bit and started to board there so they could be together in the same kennel while we are gone. The first time we boarded we had no issues.. took them back a second and a third time and had problems with things being added on to the bill that we didn't authorize (deciding to do a checkup with the dr before they were even due and charged a full visit fee for that?) among other things, and then forgetting to give the dogs their scheduled bath by pickup day- resulting in us having to leave them another night so they could get bathed the next morning. No biggie.. we had a talk with the staff about the charges and to please call us if they ever need to medicate etc. so we are aware. The next time they boarded there, they again charged out of pocket to medicate for anxiety because they claimed they were having upset stomachs and it wasn't fun to clean up out of the kennel- keep in mind, we have never had an issue with the dogs getting sick and needing anxiety meds at other places they had been boarded at.. the upcharge was well over the price we had been quoted extra in meds and then a $25 fee per dog just to administer the pills. They also threw some injections in there for the entire length of their stay.. when we got them home both dogs were very lethargic and slept off and on for the next couple days. That time, we had some pretty intense conversations with the staff that it was getting out of hand and they assured us it wouldn't happen again and that they would call first to authorize any extras the next time. Our last and final experience with them was this past week while we were in Wilmington.. took the dogs in on a Friday and scheduled to pick them up the following Friday- got a call Saturday that they were "sick" and needed injections and pills. They had been there less than 24 hours at this point- we authorized the pills for two days and asked to please see how they did without injections and they assured us they would call us back if anything else needed to happen. We didn't hear back from them so we assumed all was well. My husband went today to pick them up and was handed a bill for meds given all week.. they had separated them into seperate kennels instead of the one we reserved for them to stay in together- neither of the dogs were bathed because in their words, pickup day was showing today in the computer but nobody knew, and Blaze came home with a patch of missing fur and an abrasion on his head and an ugly laceration on his eye.. which we found once we got him home and tried to bathe him ourselves.. there is no excuse. Needless to say, we will be finding a new vet that we trust with our rascals when we are out of town. Read Less

Been using them for 30+ years, on cats and dogs. Routine shots & surgery, to emergency surgery . Great staff office and medical. Most recent visit, took 15yr old small poodle mix for update shots, also grooming. Her vision and easily spooked, told groomer if needed to sedate had permission. Went to pick her, staff says she did wonderful on check up and grooming NO sedation needed. She's perked up and energetic since being groomed, great job and visit. This is one of the most comprehensive practices I've dealt with in my lifetime. They do it all very professionally and courteously. I've had dogs all my life and used many vets in different states; AMC is in the top tier of caring and convenience. I have a lab/retriever rescue now. He is the first dog I've had that wants to go back INTO the building when I pick him up. Usually they can't wait to leave.The staff is wonderful, the vets are knowledgeable, the email reminders are very helpful, and the facility is clean and bright. For the past 15 years we have taken our golden retrievers to AMC. Always they have been professional and thorough. One reviewer cited their pet not receiving a Bordetello shot. This is not a routine part of annual vaccinations because it is only needed if you board your pet. Never in 15 years have they not provided the care and treatment my dogs have needed. They do care and have excellent staff to support the doctors. I highly recommend them due to the consistent high level of treatment and care they provide. They treat their clients well so our dogs have never stressed when going to AMC. Doctors Potter and Funk have strong community ties and create wonderful close bonds with their clients, our pets. So thankful for AMC and their quick response and incredibly helpful staff. My puppy was showing neurological issues and we were able to get in to see the doctor within an hour. Worst experience with boarding. If you don't want your dogs properly taken care of; board them here. I picked up my female with hotspots all over her, when I should have received a call stating what was going on with her. I had to bring her to another vet that day to get her treatment. Read Less
