Beware! Truly terrible medical services. I took my ill, 19 year old cat to them for a possible UTI and a full senior panel work-up.  My cat was seen by Dr. Rachel Yates. Dr. Yates should go back to medical school because she was incompetent. She claimed she was unable to take any blood or urine samples because my cat was too scary. My cat has been to the vet many times during her lifetime and No One has ever been unable to gather samples before. Dr. Yates proceeded to say that she thinks my cat has feline renal issues, and sold me a bunch of fancy food. 3 weeks later my cat was no better. I took her to another vet who was able to obtain samples. It turns out my cat does NOT have renal issues, or diabetes but by now had a raging UTI. The worst part was the suffering my cat endured. This place is now a joke! We knew and have been a client for many years. Now, they are a rip off. We scheduled a grooming for our cat a week ago and they wait until 3 days prior to tell us they are adding additional charges! They want to do an exam $50 plus blood work another $125+ and then the grooming which was going to be $200 including sedation. Tanya didn't believe me when I told her i had the rabies shot and i had the paperwork! She got very hostile with me when I told her that was ridiculous and said that was my problem! Just went to her the other week for our dog, the lab work was to be sent to UGA for more$$ and of course, never heard from them either, sure she pocketed the money.. Beware of getting the 3 yr. rabies vaccine for your dog!! A couple of years ago, I took my small dog to Lance Vet for an annual check-up. The tech recommended I get the 3 year rabies vaccine. I said 'no'. When the vet came in the room, she talked me into the 3 yr. vaccine. Going against my gut feeling, I agreed. Within 2 weeks, my dog developed a big lump on her side ... took her to another vet for treatment. Shortly thereafter, another big lump appeared ... back to the vet. Shortly after that, another big lump ... back to the vet. I truly feel that the 3 big lumps within a 6 week period were due to that 3 yr. vaccine. Read Less

My family chose Lance Animal Hospital on the recommendation that one of the Veternarians there was not only a friend but a fine surgeon who cared deeply about the animals that she provided assistance to in her practice. Our dog Sammie had a tiny lump that we discovered on a trip to Fla and following several failed attempts to find a professional who truly recognized our love for our special dog we finally made an appt with Dr. Lara Chambers. Although we have a highly visible and recognized animal hospital right across the street from our home they did not demonstrate the compassion and sensitivity that made us comfortable with a decision to treat our 4 pawed family member. I say this because we reside approximately 22 miles away from Lance Animal Hospital we never the less gladly travel to their location because of Dr Chambers presence there. She was the Ultimate Professional upon our 1st meeting some 5 years ago and remains a constant and composed Veternarian to this day. We consider her our lifesaver as our dog is a family member to us and Dr. Chambers recognized that immediately upon our arrival. She was quiet, informative and brilliant. It is refreshing to say the least to discover a top notch Professional who truly cares and provides the epitome of extraordinary bedside manners. Our dog Sammie was found to have a mass cell tumor. Dr Chambers removed the tumor with precision and provided proper medical parameters to assure he had a successful outcome. She did. Following this procedure she has become a mainstay in our lives as each time we see her we are amazed at her unchanging demeanor. Best vet in Hall County. Dr Lance and her staff are great/ . They do offer non traditional services ( acupuncture, herbal Medicine, Food Therapy, Cold Laser Therapy etc. . ) which a great option for many animals. We have been taking our dogs to her for 2+ yrs. We recently had to put one of our dogs to sleep and she and the staff were all so very caring and kind. Dr Lance always takes the time to explain things and answer your questions and never in a hurry. Davorin Bozja does the cold laser therapy which helped our dog greatly and she loved her visits. I take my boxer Winston to see Dr. Yates and he absolutely loves her!! He is very anxious and doesn't do well in public but the Lance team and Dr. Yates do a great job keeping him calm. I began bringing my pets here in December after adopting a kitten with some chronic sinus issues.  I couldn't ask for a more professional and caring staff! The staff managed to get Lucius, the very congested kitten to a point where his sinus issues could be managed at home. Today, I had an emergency situation with my second cat, Severus (yes there's obviously a theme here). I called and told me to come on down they would work me in as quickly as possible. Within 10 minutes of walking in the door Severus was being seen. With some supportive care and rest he'll be fine. I love this office seems to offer an amazing balance between traditional veterinary care and natural solutions while keeping your bank account in mind. Love Lance I use for my 6 yr Shihtzu for all medical & boarding now I own a bear faced Akita first visit amazing the time everyone takes to explain everything great! Before I tell you why low rating I have to say the front desk personnel is great! And I use to love this vet but last 2 times I have went they have not done all they said they were going to during exam that I paid for and I didn't realize it until I got home and I had to call back to ask them. Didn't feel like taking dog all the way back 2 hours later when I realized it and called. This was a new puppy and they were suppose to worm her and they didn't give her the stuff. I paid for that service to. Also they didn't do something else but don't remember what it was right now. I am the owner of a 5 year old Siberian cat, and she is my whole world. Last weekend she took a turn for the worst and my husband and I couldn't figure out why. It goes without saying that we were beside ourselves with worry, and in a moment of desperation I took her to Lance first thing this past Monday morning, without a call ahead or ever stepping foot inside. Immediately when I walked in I could tell the employees there cared about their job and wanted to be of help in any way they could. I know they could see how upset I was, and they took very good care of my baby girl. After X-rays and bloodwork and urinalysis, they discovered she had a high fever as well as a uti. I went on vacation and had Lance take care of my older female pug..when i returned was informed that she had died...the found her in the cage none responsive they tried to revive her....when i went to find out what occurred..the veteran showed me an xray of her lungs that had completely filled with fluid.....the poor dog basically panted herself to death...she had a rasp when excited but what kind of care takers do they have not to recognize that a little pug is suffering..surely the person letting the dog out for rest breaks would or should of noticed something before the dog's lungs filled completely up..oh the vet consoled me by saying they wouldn't charge me for the week for the dog..i would not recommend them to anyone they may be expensive...but. My dachshund hurt her back and was paralyzed in her back legs. I called Lance Animal Hospital to seek alternative therapies as all my vet could do was crate rest and steroids. Before we even came for our first appointment, Dr. Lance herself called me at 7:30 in the evening (long after her clinic closes) to discuss my dog. I was so impressed that she took time out of her evening to do this! We came for 4 appointments total and can say that everyone of her staff is friendly and caring. We live in Canada and winter in Florida. We always make sure we stop at Lance Animal Hospital on our way home. We love Dr. Marie and Davarn as well as the rest of the staff. We have found them to go above and beyond our dogs needs. I have the utmost confidence in their care. We breed dogs and have had a number of different reasons to visit them. An amazing place. The staff is the most caring and loving towards our pets. They go out of their way to be accommodating, whether it be an appointment time or the price of a procedure. They have performed surgeries, done chiropractic adjustments and cold laser therapy, and are treating my elderly Jack Russell's diabetes. Some very unkind person "dumped" a beautiful brindle Doberman at our home, we took him to this vet and they ran the panels to check his health and tried to find his original home as he was chipped. When it became apparent that the previous owners no longer wanted him, he became part of our family. In his forever home now for almost two years, he has become more loving and he knows that he will never be "dumped" again. He developed a growth on his hind quarter, we returned to Lance and they ran blood work, diagnosed him and gave us the reassurance that he was not in any pain. I've been going to Dr. Marie and to her staff pretty much since she was first getting started I believe back in 2009. She is the only Vet I trust with my dogs and will only trust with my dogs as long as I live here. She saved my dogs life back in 2010 when he was attacked by another dog and had severe scares and bites that had to be stiched up and drains put in. Both my dogs absolutely luv her and the place, its weird cause they know where we are going and where we are when we get there and they don't mind. Since 2009 they have extended their services and added Holistic Health and Natural Healing for the animals. In combination with Natural Healing and what you do with your body physically, you have to be aware of you put into your body and also your animals. Lance Animal Hospital also can supply you and your animals with the BEST water you can ever drink, it's called KANGEN WATER!!!! We were clients of Dr. Marie's before she "made it"....she was very caring and personable and truly care about the animals; however, now that she has "made it", her concern is money and only the almighty dollar.She has worked with us and others in allowing clients to post date checks; however, that is no longer the case. Our cat has an urgent issue, his head is cocked to the right side and his eye is swollen shut. Due to our medical need at the same time, we asked for a 2 week post date (as opposed to our normal 1 month)....oh no!!!! How dare we ask that! She tried to force us to get a Care Credit charge card - we don't do credit cards. Her staff is unbelievable! I had to call 4 times before anyone would even speak to me. I spoke to Rebekkah and Heather. Rebekkah was too lazy to take a message, so I had to call back. I even left a message for the office administrator, but of course, no answer.AFter 3 days, Dr. Marie finally called back - very hatefully, there is no telling what Rebekkah told her, cause at first Rebekkah would not even have her call me, so I was quite shocked when she did.I am very saddened that she has turned this way. They will also try to gouge you with every test known to man kind. When I asked her what the treatment would be without the test, she said "the same"....and I said if we did the test? again, the same! I cut one bill from a possible $600 to only $200 (which we post dated for 1 month!)Be careful when going there or you will be in debt with unnecessary tests and surprise charges. We have been bringing our multitude of pets to LAH for quite a while now (a few years at least). It took us a while to find a vet that we trusted when we moved down here. We went to a few offices before a friend recommended that we check out a newer vet clinic in the area that he was working at as a tech. So we checked it out and really clicked with Dr. Marie. She is thorough and easy to work with. We tend to be demanding and perhaps overbearing pet parents and they actually appreciate our questions and concerns. I love that they offer multiple holistic treatments along with traditional vet care. We have used just about all of the services that they offer for various pets in our household (cold laser, chiropractics, herbal treatmets, etc) and are pleased with the results. They are not the cheapest vet in the area but I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". Read Less

Good Service - but somewhat deceptive - we took our 2 cats in for their yearly exam - which was quoted over the phone at $58 each - by the time they were finished - the total bill for both cats was $406 - and both of these cats were healthy.  Apparently the $58 is a charge for the office visit and everything else is additional.  We were told our 10 year old male cat needed a "spinal adjustment" - again - no mention of charge until the bill - learn from our mistakes - make sure you ask "what is the charge for that procedure";  "are you giving me the food or is there a charge for that"They do have a really nice facility and the staff is friendly but make sure you have plenty of credit on your credit card.
