Been bringing both of our dogs to see Dr. Tolliver for years and recently one of our dogs became sick. The team there and Dr. Tolliver always made us feel comfortable and kept us informed and nursed our sweet Waldo back to health. They were always patient with me when I would call to check on him and even let me come and visit with him while he was hospitalized for a few days. It brightened both our spirits. He is back home and I am very thankful for each of them taking such great care of him. Read Less

If I could give zero stars I would. I adopted a heartworm positive dog and had to work with this vet because of their partnership with the rescue group otherwise our first (of 7) visits would have been our only one. If you care at all about your pets, don't ever take them to this vet. They are awful, and I am enormously happy that I do not ever have to deal with forgetful doctors and assistants with attitudes again. I had to remind the doctor every time we went what he was supposed to be doing-- I was terrified (still am) that my dog did not receive all the necessary parts of heartworm treatment. I saw the other doctor today, and he spent a total of maybe 2 minutes (not consecutive) with me out of the hour we were there and was not helpful in anyway. I had to go hunt him down to find out why I was still sitting there, and the assistant rolled her eyes at me. The assistants there are so rude. No bedside manner or appreciation of their client's time whatsoever. Today was our last visit and I asked for copies of my dog's file-- turns out the first of our 7 visits was documented on the computer. None of the rest were. If it were a real doctors office, that would be malpractice. These people shouldn't be anywhere near your pets. Read Less

First time I went to Grayson Vet. Hospital I took our cat. I did not have an appointment and I was just going up to see if they would take him that day. They said yes they could see him. As I was waiting in the room I overheard the receptionist say, "I dont know why we took them, they didnt have an appointment" on top of that they charged me $100 to tell me nothing. The second visit was this past week. I have a dog who suddenly acted like she couldnt see anymore. I rushed her up to Grayson Vet.(with an appointment) in hopes they could tell me what was going on. When I got there, I went back into a room with my dog to see the vet. He did no eye exams on my dog, no bloodwork, nothing to rule out diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, tumors, etc. He didnt even look into her eyes. He said she had SARD. Sudden Aquired Retinal Disease. He also told me how long dogs usually last blind until they become so nervous/timid that they will have to be euthenized. I left with a referral, no answers and very upset. I went to get a second opinion two days later, at the most wonderful vets office I have ever been to! He actually took time with my dog, did the proper test and even showed me what was going on with her. Grayson vet diagnosed my dog wrong. She did not have SARD at all, and she has a long happy life ahead of her. There is hope of treatment to correct this. They were unwilling to help, unfriendly and just did not care at all. Do your pet a favor and take them elsewhere where they can get real help by people who really care. Read Less

After moving to Georgia we visited several veterinary practices before finding Dr. Tolliver via the recommendation of friends from a local humane society. We have been through the highs and lows of pet ownership with the team at Grayson, and have always been impressed with the caring and compassionate service. That was highlighted one day, when our fourteen year old westie, Marco, managed to grab an apple core that had fallen from the cutting board and it got stuck in his esophagus, turned sideways so it couldn't enter his stomach. Of course, these things never happen at a convenient time. It was after 4:00pm, so I called Grayson and was told to come right in. Several hours later, after emergency surgery, Marco was doing fine. I had fully expected to be shuttled to the emergency hospital, given the late time of day, but Dr. Tolliver took care of Marco himself, and I am forever grateful. Read Less

I brought my dog in because his carpal foot pad was swollen. The Vet told me he didn't know what it was caused by, gave me some antibiotics and sent us home. It got larger so I brought him back. He took a biopsy to send to a lab and said he would call me with the results. A week went by then two. I called but no results. The receptionist said she would have the Vet call me. I waited and the pad kept getting bigger. Now the size of a golf ball. I took my dog back and a visiting vet saw him. He knew nothing about the biopsy and couldn't find the results. In fact they had not done the biopsy. He told me that it was too late for them to do anything about it because it was too large and would need laser surgery. He felt bad about the screw up and the fact that I would now have to take my dog to UGA for a surgery I can't afford so he didn't charge me for the visit. I have saved up the money for the surgery but I have to find a new Vet to get a referral because Grayson insists on charging me again for a referral they never gave me. Read Less

I was looking for a vet to care for my two cats. I wanted to go to Grayon Vet because I live so close to it. The first time I called with a generic question, that was to lead to an appointment, they were rude on the phone. Giving them the benefit of the doubt of a "bad day", I gave them 2 more opportunites in person and made purchases. Each time I dealt with coldness and a general feeling that I was bothering them. I had enough the third time and drove to another Vet a few miles down the road. (no small feat since I had the cats with me) I was greeted and treated kindly, and the trip was worth it. Read Less

Read Less

My family has been a client of Dr. John Tolliver at the Grayson Vet for some 30 years. The staff is great and helpful and John is the greatest vet. We must have taken some 70 pets to him over this time - we are into Lab dogs and Barbara seems to rescue every cat in Grayson and takes them to be checked and neutered to Grayson Vet. You cannot go wrong with this veterinary hospital.

Read Less

I took my 1 year old healthy dog in to get neutered and when I called to find out how he was doing they told me that he died and they didnt know why. They said that one minute he was walking around and when they turned around he was dead, which leads me to believe that they were not watching him and that he did not have a heart monitor. Please go somewhere else I wish I would have read the reviews before I took my dog to this place. :( Read Less

This vet is amazing! My mother has always taken her animals here. I started using them myself with my Husky [ Aida ]. They have been nothing but wonderful. The staff is AMAZING this includes everyone assistants/vets/techs/groomer..everyone. I had an issue financialy when my dog needed surgery. They didn't charge me for board to keep her there [ which is expensive at any vet ], and discounted many other things to help me out. They charge less than anyone around, but the quality is top notch! If you love your animals you should use this vet. - Mandie & [Aida] Read Less

Read Less
