I really, really wanted to like this place because it's so near our home. First, their hours are weird. No Saturday appointments and very limited morning appointments. Second, I did a line by line comparison of prices against my old vet and this place averaged about 20% more than my old (wonderful) vet. Finally, what do the vet techs here actually do? I've never been to a vet where the vet techs just sit at the front desks and the doctor does all the weighing and is the only one in the exam room with you. I was doing the vet techs' job of holding each dog at the correct positions for each shot and stopping the bleeding after the blood was drawn....The vet himself was nice enough I guess. I loved our old vet, so I had really high expectations. This one was just kind of....blah. Also, they don't do pro heart, so be prepared to put your dog back on heart guard if you were using pro heart! Read Less

Our cat had been very low energy and just not being herself for about a week so we decided to take her to this Vet just in case. We are so glad we did. The staff checked our cat...she had a temperature of 105! In order to determine the cause, they were able to run a blood test and view results all in the same visit. The Doctor was very informative and explained a couple of potential causes for the temperature. She gave my cat fluids which immediately had a positive affect on the cat. Also, she prescribed a medicine for the cat. After 2-3 days of taking the medicine, the cat started to get her energy back, and within a week she made a full recovery! We are so thankful for the Doctor and staff that saved our cat! Read Less

First visit went very well. The receptionist with the 2002 kelly clarkson highlights was very rude on the phone and in person. Second visit was yesterday. Doctor was EXTREMELY rude and condescending. Probably the worst any professional has ever spoken to me. I'm in a very difficult place right now having taken in my fathers mistreated dog with limited funds and he treated me as though I was a child. I brought up the fact that a family member also saw him and he accused me of "playing games to get a discount" when I truly wasn't. Just trying to have friendly conversation. Never going back again. I would agree with the previous comments that you do hurry and wait. We waited about 45 mins for our first appointment. The staff is friendly, but honestly all I saw them doing as I was waiting was sitting around and chatting with each other and it seemed to take them forever to input our information into the system. The doctor came out at one point and gave them a look and all 3 of them quieted down like school children. Also, there was an issue with a customer who was very disgruntled with her service while our dog was being seen by the doctor at which time the doctor was pulled away to handle the disgruntled woman. Fortunately, we were wrapping up our visit before the doctor got pulled away to handle the customer. The doctor was professional and seemed knowledgeable and we were happy with that, however not once did we receive an apology by any of his staff for being seen late and for the disruption from the disgruntled woman. This clinic just lacks the professionalism I would look for in a clinic and we are taking our pet someplace else. Read Less

If you're expecting to be seen at a reasonable time on a Saturday, you are definitely in for a treat. It seems like everyone goes in at the same time during Saturday's, since they are not appointment based, but walk ins only. I waited an hour before I decided to take my very sick cat elsewhere. The wait time is ridiculous, but the care you're pet is given once the vet sees you is great. The staff are very friendly also. Read Less

The staff and the the Doctor are simply amazing!! They never gave up on trying to save our puppy that we rescued. Best part about it was this was an emergency and I was not charged and arm and a leg. Very, very reasonable priced and will be back with the rest of our dogs. Wonderful facility and will be back! You will not been seen at your scheduled time. Waited over an hour even though we had an appointment.  Brought in our new puppy and they told us he was fine but then had to take the pup to an emergency vet the next day because he had coccidia that the vet at grovetown did not check for, even though we said he had been sick.  Would not recommend unless you like to wait. Incredibly nice people, and great service too. I can't say enough good things about them and how professional and courteous they have been when treating both of my two dogs. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone in a hurry. Having an appointment just means they are expecting you, not that you'll be seen anywhere near your time.I sat in their metal fold up chairs until my butt was numb and then waited more. They definitely overbook with their one veterinarian.I showed up on-time and had three people ahead of me. Over an hour later I was called for my dogs simple anal gland extraction that took 45 seconds. Frustrating!There were also multiple occasions the receptionist would say something rude after hanging up on the phone with someone. I shutter to think that before it may have been me. Best vet I have ever had, hands down! We adopted a dog awhile ago and the first night we had her she had everything shooting out of both ends! We took her to the Pets Mart's vet office (we had a coupon as part of our adoption packet) and was told the tests were going to start at $300. The next day we took her here and for a very reasonable sum we walked out with a diagnosis and medication. Dr. Motzkus is great! Read Less

I can't recommend this clinic enough! Dr. Motzkus is proficient, calm, & wonderful with both of my cats. Their first visit went about as well as I expected it to - Jake tried to cower in a corner, and Emme did nothing but hiss (unmenacingly). Neither phased Dr. Motzkus a bit, and by the second time I brought them in, they were much better behaved - he's very attentive and genuinely cares about the well being of the pets that he sees. Our cat was very recently mauled by a stray dog, and we ended up having to put her down. The staff accepted us right away even though we were new patients, and walked us through all of our options. They were very professional, empathetic, caring, and just all around wonderful people.They let us spend as much time as we needed with our cat, they never rushed us even though they were obviously busy, and they spent plenty of time with us explaining the procedure.We will certainly be using them in the future for any other pets we may get.Wonderful, wonderful people. A fantastic practice. I would go back in a heartbeat.The do have shop cats (cats that are just walking or sitting around) so if you have a dog that likes chasing cats, please be sure to bring a muzzle. They also have at least one dog walking around at all times. Not sure if it's a therapy dog, but it seems very calm and subdued.Again, wonderful people.
