Brandi & Karen are beyond amazing. It doesn’t matter if I call or come into the office. They know my babies by their first name and remember exactly what is going on with each of them (they both have their own issues). They always treat me with respect and my babies as their own. The doctors here also are great. They don’t rush the visit and take their time explaining things to me. I took my pitbull, Polo, to Dogwood for his initial exam, shots, and ear cropping.  Although, I had to drive 4 hours round trip each visit, I wanted to ensure I chose the right Dr to perform his ear surgery.  Everyone at Dogwood is a pleasure to deal with.  Their genuine passion for animals is obvious.  The price for the surgery was on the higher end of the average, based on research I performed ahead of time, but it was well worth it.  After the initial phone conversation with Brandee, I could tell that my little pal would be in good hands.  Once at the office for the initial consultation and blood work, they answered all of my questions and shared impressive photos of previous furry clients and different crop styles.  I felt very comfortable with my puppy in their hands.  After a short recovery period, his ears look fantastic.  Like all things in life, you get what you pay for.  Highly recommended. I took my Doberman puppy here to have his ears cropped and Dr Caughman did an incredible job. The whole staff at dogwood is wonderful and treated my baby like he was their own. First, I was forced to purchase a medication for my dog's ear infection, that I found out later, has such bad side effects on the dog's overall health in a long term. I had to pay over $150 for that and I never used it, as I did not want to compromise my dog's health over a medication that will only give temporary relief to my dog. Secondly, I called and asked information about how much would it cost to have my dog's teeth cleaned, they took my info, but never got a call back. Third, the room was dirty when we were taken back. Lastly, I understand that my dog can get dirty and smelly due to him being outside (we also have another dog who always plays with him and makes him dirty), but I feel like they didn't try to build a relationship with my dog and looked at him like his filthy. I am trying not to be judge mental here, but for someone who is supposed to care and love animals, they didn't really do a good job. I am not coming back as I think they're only there for the money and doesn't really care about my dog. Read Less

I took my hound mix to this vet for a second opinion on an issue she was having. I saw Dr. Amy Young and she was fantastic. So I took my newly rescued dog here for her first visit. I chose this place because of the advertised $1 visit. I was worried that my dog was sick but luckily the dog said she seemed to be fine. My biggest issue is the fact that I got sticker shock when I went to check out. The recommended flea and tick medicine, heart worm medicine, and vitamins for my dog's hair loss were over $250. I feel like they should tell you ahead of time that even though the visit is only $1, they are going to recommend medicine that's going to be over $200 for your dog. In addition the rooms were not very clean and I waited about an hour after my appointment time before we saw the doctor. The staff was okay but not all extra nice. When my dog needs her next set of shots, I'll be going somewhere else. There was nothing that made this office stand out in my opinion. There was nothing to entice me to return.Read Less

Dr.Caughman is very knowledgeable and caring. He was patient/understanding about all of my questions and worries. I know the staff took good care of my furbaby before, during and after her surgery. We have used Dogwood Animal Hospital for well over 15 years. Dr. Caughman is very caring and thorough; his staff friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean. Our dog actually LOVES to go to the vet! If we say the word vet, or the name of a particular staff person, her ears perk up! She is a routine boarder and always excited to see the staff. He answers all my questions and often times follows up with me the next day. My dogs have seen him for everything from regular checkups to dislocated shoulders to ear infections. He is incredibly knowledgable and my dogs love him. What I love even more about Dogwood Animal Hospital is the rest of the staff. Both of my dogs get boarded there every 4-6 weeks and they LOVE IT!!!! When I call and schedule appointments, Karen is so sweet and patient while I line up my calendar. Both vet techs, Melody and Brandee, are incredible. They treat both of my dogs like their own. Every time I go and pick them up, they always tell me they don't want them to leave. My little babies love everyone but especially Brandee. Brandee has been at the door waiting for them to come in and my dogs both start jumping up so she can hold them as soon as the see her. They are just as attached to her as they are to me!! The entire staff has truly become like a family to me and I am so grateful of the love and care they provide my babies. The Dogwood Team were able to keep her lightly sedated while they cleaned, polished, flouride treated,and sealed her teeth. They were able to treat her gums and didn't have to pull any teeth which was a big concern. They knew I was very anxious about her age and anesthesia so they kept me updated at frequent intervals that she was stable and tolerating the procedure well. The Vet Tech was an absolute delight and very detailed in her responses to my questions. The veterinarian was one of a kind in his passion for animals, showing it goes beyond standard quality care and was clearly happy with his career. This one visit provided me with a myriad of outlets for resources along with creating an inviting environment. TERRIBLE. Do not take your animals to this vet. Overpriced and a total rip-off. WAY over charged me for flea meds and then would not let me return them, even though the boxes were unopened.They also removed my dog from the room for blood work, shots and fecal tests which I had never seen a vet do before. Red Flag for me. Google this vet and see for yourself...many, many horrific reviews.There is also a pen holder at their front desk that should have given me a clue as to their customer service...says "Ashes of Problem Clients". I have called several times with basic questions and have experienced the patience and kindness of the staff.
