Dr. Smith and all of the staff and other Dr's are wonderful here. They were compassionate, helpful and caring with both of our dogs from the time they were puppies till they crossed over the rainbow bridge at ages 17 & 16.
Would not take my pets anywhere else.

Having to go to the vet ever since I was a little kid this is by far the best animal hospital I have ever been to... The veterinarian dr. Thomas is a very caring and sympathetic individual along with all his support personnel. I have been to virtually every animal hospital in my area and this is by far the best. They care more about the animal or animals then they do the greenbacks. This in itself says a lot.

I will never take my cat here again. I got charged 123$ for my cats treatment of a UTI. They have her a Covenia injection which at the time I had never heard of and they gave her Depo-medrol. The UTI never even got slighly better within the first week and I started to notice poor appetite in her so I immediately took her to my old vet because I love them just such a long drive since we moved and they gave me antibiotics to take home for her and gave her a depo shot as well and only charged me 30 dollars. Beaver crossing called me to check on My cat and I let them have the voicemail. My old vet told me she never gives Covenia injections because it has detrimental side effects and is suppose to be the " cure all antibiotic" but often has been said to not work. I then proceeded to do research on the on this Covenia and found that many peoples animals have suffered so much as death from reactions to this antibiotic and poor appetite was also one of many side effects. They charged me over 100$ and didn't fix the problem. I imagine if I had waited two weeks and gone back for my follow up appt they would have done what my other vet did the first time and charged me another 100$ to try and fix her UTI. Btw Covenia's uses is listed to help in treatment of skin infections it didn't say anything about UTIs

I brought my dog in with a really vague set of symptoms that conventional medicine from my other vet just did not pinpoint and address. He was losing weight and not eating and on the advice of a couple of friends as well as my conventional vet, I messaged Dr. Kneuven. I love the balance of holistic and conventional medicine as well as a common sense approach to having a healthy pet. A thorough and thoughtful exam convinced me that an approach we had not tried had a good chance of being the answer. My dog is improving quickly without harsh medication and is once again the happy, healthy puppy I was worried I might be losing.

I love these guys. I do yearly check ups and shots at Value Vet because they are the cheapest. However, anytime that I've had a sick animal, Beaver Crossing has seen me immediately. The wait is never crazy long, and they are very affordable. The doctors are wonderful, and no one tries to push unnecessary services.

We have been going to Beaver Crossing for almost 15 years. Dr. Smith performed an emergency surgery on our Tibetan terrier mix. He was also treated for heartworm disease and both of our dogs had many dental cleanings and routine exams. When we had to put our Cairn Terrier, Candy, down, Dr. Smith and the staff were a great source of comfort. Now our Tibetan terrier, Mr. Ben, has kidney disease. He has to have fluids every day and Dr. Smith and several technicians showed us how to administer them. We also take him to Beaver Crossing for grooming and boarding. We enjoy our vacation knowing he is receiving the best care!

They were also very compassionate when I had to have cats euthanized. One time they made a donation in my cat's name to the vet hospital at UGA. For another cat, they sent me an Edible Arrangement.

I have been coming here for years but will no longer after my most recent visits. I brought my rescued cat in because of ear problems & a small lump on his neck. I asked if it could be cancer & if we should asperate it & Dr Miers (spelling) flat out said, "No, that's just the infection". After 4 rounds of antibiotics & one surgery they told me he needed a TECA procedure which is the removal of the entire ear canal. I took him to the specialist & they said they didn't think that was the problem. They thought it was cancer. They did a cat scan & 4 biopsies. Sure enough it's cancer. What makes me angry is the lump has grown so much now that it's no longer operable so Dr Miers basically gave him a death sentence. I emailed them 3 days ago & they don't even have the decency to contact me. It's hard enough to lose a pet but to have someone misdiagnos something so basic as a HARD lump it makes it so senseless when something could have been done about it in the beginning. Now I have the difficult task of knowing when the right time is to put Sammy down. I'm SOOOO angry!!!

I called to 12 local vets to find a vet for my 2 dogs and I narrowed it down to 2 that I would take my dogs to. I based my decision on politeness of the receptionist, amount they charged for vaccinations, check ups ect., how knowledgeable the receptionist was and reviews. I could not believe at how many asked me why I needed to know the pricing, were rude and had to look up basic questions. Well I took my 2 dogs in today to get to know the vet and to get some heart-worm and flea prescriptions. It was very affordable, all the staff was friendly and helpful! We have found a new vet to take care of our fur babies!

About a year ago my dog Andy had an incident one morning where he could barely walk and his back leg was shaking. I had noticed that he was slowing down but he was 14 years old. I called my usual vet practice but they had an issue that day and couldn't see Andy. They knew I was scared and really needed him to be seen by a professional so they referred me to Beaver Crossing. From my initial phone conversation the staff was amazingly kind and accommodating. Andy was diagnosed with arthritis and put on a daily medicine. Apparently he had injured himself over-compensating for the arthritis so I had to give him pain medicine for a couple of days and then As Needed. We just had his annual physical and his now has a mild issue with his heart. The vets, technicians, front office staff, groomer and groomer assistant all treat Andy like they are so happy to see him. Watching my dear Andy age has opened my eyes to the aging process in humans. I pray that when I am in my final years I am treated with even a small percentage of the way everyone at Beaver Crossing treats my Andy. As you can imagine we now use Beaver Crossing for vet services, grooming & boarding.

I took my dog to this vet on Saturday Oct 3rd 2015, by Monday October 5th my dog was dead. I will never take another pet to this vet. This was the worst experience I have had in my life. I took my dog here playing and healthy, and within a couple of days he was dead, all because of this vet's negligence.

We absolutely love Dr. Smith and his team at Beaver Crossing Animal Hospital. We started taking both our dogs, Juno and Abbie, there a few years ago because initially it was very convenient. We loved how professional and friendly the staff and doctors are and also how accommodating they are to fit us into their schedule when we call. The exams are always thorough and never rushed. And everyone there is great with our dogs. Last year we moved thirty minutes away but we still make the drive to see them because it's well worth the effort. We highly recommend them for your pets!

They are the best I have seen in a LONG while! I had an issue with another vet, and didn't want to go back there, when my oldest cat was sick. So, I asked around,. and Beaver Crossing was recommended to me by a friend that takes very good care of her furry kids. When I go, I am always greeted quickly. You can request a specific Vet, if you want to. They are quick to help, and amazingly compassionate and understanding, No appointment needed. I can walk in at 6:50p and they will still see me (I don't feel like I am keeping them from leaving). They are amazing. I understood exactly what was going on, and how decisions for treatment were reached. I will bring my other 3 cats in, if they need a visit, too. I love this place!

Beaver Crossing brought back my faith in vets. I had a horrible experience across town and would make my husband bring our two dogs in. When my husband was out of town, I was forced to go in alone. The staff greeted us with excitement to see Milhouse and Harriett. The doctor knew the history of both dogs without even looking at the charts. They were able to explain things in detail so I could understand. The staff and doctors are absolutely amazing!!!!! They all care, love animals and make things all around comfortable. Thank you all for taking such good care of our "children".

The care was solid and the rooms were clean. The vet I saw could use some more practice on bedside manner though, particularly when speaking with people. My animal was called mouthy and I was informed, without me soliciting the information, that I would have to train him out of it because with his breed he would be dangerous one day. 1st of all: my animal as a baby, was teething. 2nd: it was his first vet visit. He was being held by a technician and it was impossible for his mouth to be near you unless you got near it. 3rd: he'd never had his temperature taken. What did you think was going to happen when she stuck her hands in his face given they have no relationship. 4th: She could have asked what he was like. 5th: she had the opportunity to muzzle him. The front desk staff was marvelous though, as were all of the technician I encountered. I wish the hours were a bit clearer. They open early, but the vets aren't in until later. Maybe it was written somewhere and I missed it. If I needed something done in a pinch or I weren't sure where I could go, I'd come back, but otherwise, I don't think this will be our primary vet.

I've been with this Vet since 2003 and earlier than that with another pet by my sister. I had that pet put to sleep due to the cat getting into my prescription medications. They were so wonderful to allow me to say goodbye to her privately and they took care of the burial for me. Salem was my next kitten that I had gotten from a friend at work. Beaver Crossing has been a great help to me in guiding me from raising a kitten to a cat of 11yrs old. A few of the area's Veterinarian's were offering a reduced rate on getting your pets fixed and I've been with them ever since. It's a family friendly business that cares for your pets!

I just have to say THANK YOU to the staff at Beaver Crossing Animal Hospital. My puppy starting peeing blood on Saturday and I called them, took him in and we were still there an hour after they closed. Dr. Winemiller and staff made sure to run all the tests they could to try to find answers even if it cut into their weekend. She was so patient with me and answering all of my questions. I just can't say enough about how that made me feel. This place is great. THANK YOU from the bottom of Ashford's (puppy) heart. :-)

This is my go-to animal hospital. I started taking my kitties here when I lived in Duluth, on the recommendation of my now-mother-in-law. The staff here is nice, and I don't feel pressured to pay for services that my pet doesn't really need. Like many cats, my black kitty is very scared at the vet, but they do their best to put him at ease (and usually ooh and ahh at what a sweet and pretty kitty he is).The wait and prices are always both reasonable, and there is a good selection of kitty toys by the cash register. Even though my husband and I now live out between Chamblee and Dunwoody, we continue to drive all the way out to Lilburn to get our kitty his checkups, because we haven't been able to find a better place (although I'll take recommendations if you have them).If you are in the Lilburn or Duluth area, I definitely recommend this place.

Thomas is a very caring and sympathetic individual along with all his support personnel. I have been to virtually every animal hospital in my area and this is by far the best. They care more about the animal or animals then they do the greenbacks. This in itself says a lot.

I will never take my cat here again. I got charged 123$ for my cats treatment of a UTI. They have her a Covenia injection which at the time I had never heard of and they gave her Depo-medrol. The UTI never even got slighly better within the first week and I started to notice poor appetite in her so I immediately took her to my old vet because I love them just such a long drive since we moved and they gave me antibiotics to take home for her and gave her a depo shot as well and only charged me 30 dollars. Beaver crossing called me to check on My cat and I let them have the voicemail. My old vet told me she never gives Covenia injections because it has detrimental side effects and is suppose to be the " cure all antibiotic" but often has been said to not work. I then proceeded to do research on the on this Covenia and found that many peoples animals have suffered so much as death from reactions to this antibiotic and poor appetite was also one of many side effects. They charged me over 100$ and didn't fix the problem. I imagine if I had waited two weeks and gone back for my follow up appt they would have done what my other vet did the first time and charged me another 100$ to try and fix her UTI. Btw Covenia's uses is listed to help in treatment of skin infections it didn't say anything about UTIs

I brought my dog in with a really vague set of symptoms that conventional medicine from my other vet just did not pinpoint and address. He was losing weight and not eating and on the advice of a couple of friends as well as my conventional vet, I messaged Dr. Kneuven. I love the balance of holistic and conventional medicine as well as a common sense approach to having a healthy pet. A thorough and thoughtful exam convinced me that an approach we had not tried had a good chance of being the answer. My dog is improving quickly without harsh medication and is once again the happy, healthy puppy I was worried I might be losing.

We have been going to Beaver Crossing for almost 15 years. Dr. Smith performed an emergency surgery on our Tibetan terrier mix. He was also treated for heartworm disease and both of our dogs had many dental cleanings and routine exams. When we had to put our Cairn Terrier, Candy, down, Dr. Smith and the staff were a great source of comfort. Now our Tibetan terrier, Mr. Ben, has kidney disease. He has to have fluids every day and Dr. Smith and several technicians showed us how to administer them. We also take him to Beaver Crossing for grooming and boarding. We enjoy our vacation knowing he is receiving the best care!

I have been coming here for years but will no longer after my most recent visits. I brought my rescued cat in because of ear problems & a small lump on his neck. I asked if it could be cancer & if we should asperate it & Dr Miers (spelling) flat out said, "No, that's just the infection". After 4 rounds of antibiotics & one surgery they told me he needed a TECA procedure which is the removal of the entire ear canal. I took him to the specialist & they said they didn't think that was the problem. They thought it was cancer. They did a cat scan & 4 biopsies. Sure enough it's cancer. What makes me angry is the lump has grown so much now that it's no longer operable so Dr Miers basically gave him a death sentence. I emailed them 3 days ago & they don't even have the decency to contact me. It's hard enough to lose a pet but to have someone misdiagnos something so basic as a HARD lump it makes it so senseless when something could have been done about it in the beginning. Now I have the difficult task of knowing when the right time is to put Sammy down. I'm SOOOO angry!!!

I based my decision on politeness of the receptionist, amount they charged for vaccinations, check ups ect., how knowledgeable the receptionist was and reviews. I could not believe at how many asked me why I needed to know the pricing, were rude and had to look up basic questions. Well I took my 2 dogs in today to get to know the vet and to get some heart-worm and flea prescriptions. It was very affordable, all the staff was friendly and helpful! We have found a new vet to take care of our fur babies!

About a year ago my dog Andy had an incident one morning where he could barely walk and his back leg was shaking. I had noticed that he was slowing down but he was 14 years old. I called my usual vet practice but they had an issue that day and couldn't see Andy. They knew I was scared and really needed him to be seen by a professional so they referred me to Beaver Crossing. From my initial phone conversation the staff was amazingly kind and accommodating. Andy was diagnosed with arthritis and put on a daily medicine. Apparently he had injured himself over-compensating for the arthritis so I had to give him pain medicine for a couple of days and then As Needed. We just had his annual physical and his now has a mild issue with his heart. The vets, technicians, front office staff, groomer and groomer assistant all treat Andy like they are so happy to see him. Watching my dear Andy age has opened my eyes to the aging process in humans. I pray that when I am in my final years I am treated with even a small percentage of the way everyone at Beaver Crossing treats my Andy. As you can imagine we now use Beaver Crossing for vet services, grooming & boarding.

We absolutely love Dr. Smith and his team at Beaver Crossing Animal Hospital. We started taking both our dogs, Juno and Abbie, there a few years ago because initially it was very convenient. We loved how professional and friendly the staff and doctors are and also how accommodating they are to fit us into their schedule when we call. The exams are always thorough and never rushed. And everyone there is great with our dogs. Last year we moved thirty minutes away but we still make the drive to see them because it's well worth the effort. We highly recommend them for your pets!

They are the best I have seen in a LONG while! I had an issue with another vet, and didn't want to go back there, when my oldest cat was sick. So, I asked around,. and Beaver Crossing was recommended to me by a friend that takes very good care of her furry kids. When I go, I am always greeted quickly. You can request a specific Vet, if you want to. They are quick to help, and amazingly compassionate and understanding, No appointment needed. I can walk in at 6:50p and they will still see me (I don't feel like I am keeping them from leaving). They are amazing. I understood exactly what was going on, and how decisions for treatment were reached. I will bring my other 3 cats in, if they need a visit, too. I love this place!

Beaver Crossing brought back my faith in vets. I had a horrible experience across town and would make my husband bring our two dogs in. When my husband was out of town, I was forced to go in alone. The staff greeted us with excitement to see Milhouse and Harriett. The doctor knew the history of both dogs without even looking at the charts. They were able to explain things in detail so I could understand. The staff and doctors are absolutely amazing!!!!! They all care, love animals and make things all around comfortable. Thank you all for taking such good care of our "children".

The care was solid and the rooms were clean. The vet I saw could use some more practice on bedside manner though, particularly when speaking with people. My animal was called mouthy and I was informed, without me soliciting the information, that I would have to train him out of it because with his breed he would be dangerous one day. 1st of all: my animal as a baby, was teething. 2nd: it was his first vet visit. He was being held by a technician and it was impossible for his mouth to be near you unless you got near it. 3rd: he'd never had his temperature taken. What did you think was going to happen when she stuck her hands in his face given they have no relationship. 4th: She could have asked what he was like. 5th: she had the opportunity to muzzle him. The front desk staff was marvelous though, as were all of the technician I encountered. I wish the hours were a bit clearer. They open early, but the vets aren't in until later. Maybe it was written somewhere and I missed it. If I needed something done in a pinch or I weren't sure where I could go, I'd come back, but otherwise, I don't think this will be our primary vet.

I've been taking my pets to Beaver Crossing Animal Hospital for about 15 years and I would not even consider going anywhere else. They have helped me with the loss of two pets, and are now caring for my next two. I especially enjoy that the staff remember us from visit to visit, and genuinely make us feel welcome.

Been coming for 11 years! I drive from marietta to lilburn -yes they are worth the almost hour commute.

I've been with this Vet since 2003 and earlier than that with another pet by my sister. I had that pet put to sleep due to the cat getting into my prescription medications. They were so wonderful to allow me to say goodbye to her privately and they took care of the burial for me. Salem was my next kitten that I had gotten from a friend at work. Beaver Crossing has been a great help to me in guiding me from raising a kitten to a cat of 11yrs old. A few of the area's Veterinarian's were offering a reduced rate on getting your pets fixed and I've been with them ever since. It's a family friendly business that cares for your pets!

This place is amazing. Without the outstanding care and concern and willingness to work with us on payments, my Sammy boy wouldn't be with us today. The vets, the vet techs, and the office personnel went above and beyond to care for him, and as a result he's alive and well on the road to recovery.

I just have to say THANK YOU to the staff at Beaver Crossing Animal Hospital. My puppy starting peeing blood on Saturday and I called them, took him in and we were still there an hour after they closed. Dr. Winemiller and staff made sure to run all the tests they could to try to find answers even if it cut into their weekend. She was so patient with me and answering all of my questions. I just can't say enough about how that made me feel. This place is great. THANK YOU from the bottom of Ashford's (puppy) heart. :-)

My kitties are really fussy, but Dr. Winemiller and the vet tech did a great job handling them. We just had our easiest vet visit in years. Scheduling an appointment is really easy too. I called yesterday to make an appointment and took my kitties in this morning. The availability of appointment times is great. I just wish they had better deals on flea medication.

To keep this review short and sweet: their prices were very much higher than other places. If I did proceed with my dogs surgery here, I'm confident they would have done a great job. I would not hesitate to bring him back if needed, your pet will be in good hands. *edit for spelling

This is my go-to animal hospital. I started taking my kitties here when I lived in Duluth, on the recommendation of my now-mother-in-law. The staff here is nice, and I don't feel pressured to pay for services that my pet doesn't really need. Like many cats, my black kitty is very scared at the vet, but they do their best to put him at ease (and usually ooh and ahh at what a sweet and pretty kitty he is).The wait and prices are always both reasonable, and there is a good selection of kitty toys by the cash register. Even though my husband and I now live out between Chamblee and Dunwoody, we continue to drive all the way out to Lilburn to get our kitty his checkups, because we haven't been able to find a better place (although I'll take recommendations if you have them).If you are in the Lilburn or Duluth area, I definitely recommend this place.
