Bought voucher on Groupon for vaccination and exam. Afterwards receptionist stated there was an additional charge for other vaccination shots required. Voucher was misleading thought all vaccinations were included with voucher. While I was waiting another customer came in furious with the Dr. and asked to speak to him and the Dr refused any and all contact that same customer also called and the Dr. refused that's why he came to his office. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE! This Vet does NOT care about animals!! My fiance took our dog here to get his ears clipped when he was 3 months old. He did a poor job, the stitches on one ear were loosely done and our poor dog had to be in an E collar for over three months! Over those three months we had to take him back numerous times to get his ears tapped correctly. The tape would come off within hours and he would charge us $20 each time. That was strike one but we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. We continued to take him for his vaccines. Our dog is now 15 months old and had grown to like the girls that work in the office. This past Thanksgiving, my fiance and I were going to fly to California to visit family and decided to board our dog. We went back and forth on boarding him at Deshon Animal Hospital or PetsMart. We decided to go with Deshon since he had grown accustomed to going there. This was the biggest mistake we ever made. Our dog was boarded from a Wednesday to Monday. (Only because they close at 12pm on Saturdays and are closed on Sunday). My fiance picked our dog up and he was super skinny, he had lost 20 pounds! He had poop stuck to the back of his hind legs, and also stuck on his butt and back of his tail. I don't think these people took our dog to use the bathroom!! On top of that, his back hind leg/ankle was swollen three times the size as it normally is! When my fiance asked the vet about his leg, he got an attitude with him and said "Well what do you want me to do about it?" He also refused to give our dog an X-ray. He kept going back and forth with my fiance on the fact that his leg gotten like this while in HIS care. We ended up taking our dog to PetSmart that evening, where they gave him an X-ray and come to find out it was an infection that my dog probably got from their kennels. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO DESHON ANIMAL HOSPITAL! Dr. Toler is horrible and did not care about my dogs well being AT ALL! Was advised that the cost for annuals and nuetering was one price over the phone (due BEFORE service) and when I arrived was then advised of other "mandatory" cost. You sign a form stating you want to decline these extra cost however the services will not be performed if you decline... so what is the point of the agree/ declination form (take this form out of your routine, its pointless)?? If you have mandatory cost then include that in your quote price, it is NOT ok to quote one price and add on MORE than $100 dollars in "mandatory" cost upon arrival. By all means its your business so charge what you want, but just say it beforehand so we all wont waste what cost the most (TIME). Secondly have someone at your front desk who likes ALL people and pets (not just regulars) and knows how to speak to people better than rambling off repetitious verbiage as the extent of their knowledge and SERVICE to the PAYED (not paying) customer (THIS WAS THE MAIN REASON I PICKED UP MY DOG INSTEAD OF PAYING FOR THE "EXTRAS"). Will i go back, unfortunately not, will i recommend going to this vet?? No i recommend driving in any other direction and deal with any other vet and receptionist in Stone Mountain other than Deshon Animal Hospital, there was a reason i drove by this vet for the last 11 years i have been in this neighborhood. I have learned my lesson, a few more miles will get you the best care for your animal and you wont feel like you have been FLEECED. Read Less

I took my dog in for vaccinations. They took him into another room, and I could hear him screaming and barking. The vet's assistant handed me back the collar - covered in bile! My dog was not happy at all. I've never seen him so angry. My dog had an allergic reaction to the vaccines, and I had to rush back to get another shot. After I drove 20 miles back, they gave him the shot. After they charged my card, the vet told me I could have just given him half a Benadryl. Dogs die from allergic reactions to vaccines all the time...and they didn't take preventative measures? Yeah, never again. Read Less

I would not recommend this vet! $1300 later and all I have paid for is inconclusive tests. Then the doctor tells me that it will cost another $800 to run more tests. I love this place. The 1st vet office that my dog is excited to go to. I can tell they love on him because when I drop him off for boarding, he walks straight to the back and greats everyone like he lives there. Keep up the good work! Read Less
