Amazing vet at this place!!!  We were passing through when our cat got very sick and we're able to get her in to be treated.  I have never seen a vet handle our very fussy cat so beautifully and expertly.  She is now much better, thank you!!!  I have told everyone I've met in this area how great everyone at this office is.  They deserve tons of 5 star reviews!!!! I would not trust this guy. He is very ruthless. He owned a trucking company and took a load of trees from a farm family and drove away without paying!! About $5500 of a family's hard-earned money went down the highway! He later pledged to pay but now refuses to. He said he has the ability compartmentalize his thought processes and not feel guilty. Dr. Amsterdam has always gone out of his way to take care of my family's pets. One time, he gave up his lunch break to save a dying kitten that we had brought in to him. Both of his front office assistants are very friendly as well. I would recommend them to anyone. Read Less

Love this place. My Weimaraner put himself through a glass door. I called at 5:45 pm, we live in Warner Robins. Dr Amsterdam waited till we got there. Frank (our dog) was in surgery till 11:30 that night. They care for all my animals. Wonderful Staff, Great Doctor. Read Less

Dr. Amsterdam is a capable and caring professional, despite some of the illogical reviews below. He saved my dog Lilly's life at 1:30am last night by performing emergency surgery. I don't know what we would have done otherwise. He even offered to remove Lilly's stitches for free next week. I highly recommend Dr. Amsterdam for his high quality care and gentle bedside manner. Dr. Amsterdam has treated my dogs and cats for over 20 years and has always done a fine job.  He has stayed late into the evening doing emergency surgery on one of my dogs and has come to my home to treat a large dog I could not get in the car.  I have found him to be friendly, compassionate and caring.  He will continue to treat my animals. We came to this vet for an emergency late on a Thursday night. He was the only vet to return our after hours call. Dr. Amsterdam stayed with us treating our kitten for two hours with kindness. The care he showed to our kitten during this late hour was unmatched. He saved our kitten's life and displayed great knowledge in the process. I am a physician as well and know when a doctor is knowledgable. We are eternally grateful to Dr. Amsterdam and his family and will remain loyal customers from here on out. Read Less

Sure the doctor might have a heart for animals, but not humans apparently. He told a family member that he's heard their sob story before when they took a pet in for an emergency visit. I don't understand how someone can be so cruel to a customer who is already very upset. What an awful person. Read Less

During the many years I have been using Dr. Amsterdam (about 15 or so) he has literally saved the lives of several of my pets. The most innovative and dramatic one is as follows: When he moved to Presidential Parkway, I thought Dr. Amsterdam had stopped practicing so I went to another highly recommended vet. My cat swallowed quite a bit of thread and it was hanging out both ends. The other vet said there was nothing I could do. The poor cat was choking on it and trying to evacuate it through his bowels. He was in terrible distress. I found Dr. Amsterdam and he had to make 5 incisions on my cat's abdomen and carefully coax the thread out. That cat lived several more years and brought me much love and joy. Another cat had back pain. Dr. Amsterdam used chiropractics to ease the cat's pain, which seemed to work.
