Plantation Centre Animal Hospital

Macon, Georgia
General Info
Plantation Centre Animal Hospital provides services to families in Macon and the surrounding Georgia areas by offering appointments that respect an animal’s emotional pacing and consistency so that wellness is maximized and stress is minimized. The beginning of the visitation period enables animals to start entering at their own pace. Personnel track the movement patterns and settling times. They also take note of which sensory signals (touch, sound, smell) the animal primarily reacts to. Examinations include assessments of bodily hydration, skin elasticity, limb mobility and range, dental health, coat appearance and maintenance or loss of weight. Discussions inquire about any noticeable changes in sleeping patterns, feeding style or household energy. Plantation Centre Animal Hospital offers a wide range of services, from vaccinations and bloodwork to mobility care, dental planning and preventive guidance as well as surgical support and long-term care discussions. The way the service is delivered (either incrementally or fully consolidated) depends on each pet’s sensory preferences. Some families prefer to have caregivers distribute their visits while others opt for concentrated service with follow up assistance. The design of the plan is based on a family’s ability to implement it (caregiver burden, pet and family factors, transportation, and scheduling). The healthcare app’s appointment page has areas for questions, notes, and dialogue which are helpful for both first-time users and chronic condition managers. The Plantation Centre Animal Hospital helps pet families in Macon and surrounding Georgia areas to harmoniously incorporate care into their daily lives rather than allowing it to become a disconnected and dreaded activity. Plantation Centre Animal Hospital offers various services, such as Pocket Pet Care, Allergy Testing, Spay/Neuter procedures, Wellness Exams, Diagnostics, Prescription Medications and an In-House Pharmacy, Microchipping, Bloodwork, and Vaccinations. This enables local pet owners to access a full range of services in Macon or nearby areas from standard checkups to advanced procedures. The clinic is a trusted name in the Macon region because it offers programs to ensure a pet’s lifetime health and comfort.

In response to my review regarding Dr. Brown not being a compassionate empathetic Vet....I stick to that! Whomever responded didnt check the records....she has seen one of my dogs and was rude and short with me....Dr. Davis had seen this particular dog and made an assessment and when he wasnt available for that particular appointment she was the only one available....and she countered what Dr. Davis had said in an earlier appointment....so YES she had seen my dog....and when I had to make an appointment again and I asked which Vet was available and it eas her I literally said no thank you and made an appointment with a different Vet a different day. And I was never told I had to pay to have drops placed in my dogs eyes....I was told to come in and they would help....I am not nor was I trying to get free services I had asked several times if it was olay I was coming in and the consensus was yes it was fine ( it was less than two weeks of help)...the plan was for Gilbert and I to work together to get it where my dog would start allowing me to do it....not once was I informed I had to pay for the team helping during a difficult diagnosis....I NEVER assumed I was being seen like others and sat in the waiting area until Gilbert was available....half the time he did it in the lobby....he was amazing and never once made me feel like I was burdening him or others....same with Dr. Lee....she came in on of those days to look into my dogs eyes....all of three minutes. But people like Dr. Brown who didnt like that this whole thing was happening had to shake things up and cause a scene....for no apparent reason! I came in on that Saturday and just asked if she could look in her eyes with the light scope....I was told she said no and if she did it would be $85....all about the money! And then she proceeds to complain to the owner about it and making it to where kindness from those helping had to be a paid service....why!? And then when I came in today I saw Dr. Davis who is a very kind caring Vet said he would adjust having to pay....so I didnt just walk out NOT paying. Dr. Fike and Dr. Lee as well as Dr. Davis have been my Vets there and I have nothing but high regard for them and their care....as well as Gilbert who has been so very kind and amazing with my babies and Ko and even Maddy....and Michelle and Kim at the front are amazing as well. So my ONLY beef is with Dr. Brown and her alone! So, the response to my review was indeed inaccurate and I just wanted to respond to that! I give Plantation a five star across the board any day....been going there for five years! And I have no intention of going elsewhere....Dr. Lee is amazing and I will be staying with her. So again, the beef is with one doctor and no one else nor the facility as a whole....thank you! Read Less

They prescribed Heartgard Plus, to prevent heartworm disease, and NexGard for Fleas and Ticks. He has remained flea and Tick Free, even though he explores our large wooded acreage tract and 3 acre pond daily! Hoss loves to walk the shoreline of the pond, and wading out into the water! They seemed more concerned with $$ than the well being of my beloved pet. I paid them $240 just to run 2 blood tests and 1 shot of nausea med. They didn't mention giving him the shot but said they would give him fluids and monitor him I came back 1 hour later because I had a bad feeling and they never gave him fluids!! I took him to Dr denard in gordon he kept him over night gave him medicine to combat the toxins and kept him on fluids total cost for saving my fur baby.. $60 so If you can make the trip go somewhere else.. When I decided to get a bunny as a pet, I knew that it was important to find a good vet, but vets who treat "exotics" are hard to find. With my first bunny, I had him fixed at another local animal hospital. I wasn't quite happy with their bedside manor, if you will, so I went to Planation Centre when it was time to have my next bunny fixed. Dr. Brown has been excellent with treating each of them. She is very professional and knowledgeable, but also has genuine concern when they are sick. She has been very thorough in trying to get to the bottom of a chronic snotty nose for one of my bunnies, and she is always quickly available to explain things or answer any questions. I highly recommend Dr. Brown at Plantation Centre for exotics.Read Less

We have been taking our Sheltie Dog "Hoss", to the Plantation Center since we got him, at 6 weeks old. They have always been caring and informative about treating our beloved pet. He is now 8 months old and looks Healthy and Beautiful. Thank you to the Plantation Center and Doctor Jill Lancaster for his good health! John Read Less

They lost my cat. They've been our vet for over 3 years, and we were boarding our cats for the weekend. They left the outside door propped open and both cat carriers, and one of our cats escaped. They told us on Saturday they had found our cat, but it turned out to be a random black cat, a male, and not our female grey and white cat. It was not even close. This is devastating to my wife and me, as well as our grandchildren. Read Less

I brought my 7lb 5 month old puppy in that had a seizure and was acting poisoned. The staff seemed very ignorant to handling an animal. I only came here because it was the closest vet and I panicked..Read Less

Great place to take your pet. Our dog was very sick and they bent over backwards to make him better, they even made follow up calls to check on his progress. Thanks!
