Great personal care for your pets. We have 3 senior Jacks and a middle aged Jack. We have foster Jacks that we taken to see Dr. Heard. We are very happy with Dr Heard as a Vet ! He is very knowledgable and is willing to listen to you about your pet. Great diagnostician ! The staff will greet you by your name and your PET's name too. They really treat you like family.Dr. Heard truly loves his job and it shows in his compassion in his care for your pets. I always have lots of questions, Dr. Heard is truly patient and will answer my questions, if he doesn't know an answer he will research or consult other Vets to find an answer for me. When I moved to East Cobb, my pet sitter recommended Animal Medical Care Center for the care of my cats. I have never been so pleased to work with a pet care office. The entire staff is welcoming and caring. Dr. Heard is phenomenal. He explains things well, and often shows me an entry from a text book. I appreciate his common-sense approach. I now have a senior cat who can be grouchy, and Dr. Heard and his staff handle her with care. With my previous older cat, Dr. Heard helped me to make decisions that were in the best interest of my cat and his quality of life. Dr. Heard and his nurses, technicians, assistants, and customer care team are fantastic! Not only do they have the knowledge and experience to competently care for my fur babies, they have a genuine kindness, compassion, and love for animals (and humans). My concerns are always addressed and my questions are always answered. Dr. Heard and his staff are incredible. Having moved from state to state I have been through lots of different vets. None of the vets I  have seen have the compassion and care that Dr.Heard has! You can tell he truly cares for every single animal that comes into his office!  He is extremely thorough at every appointment.  He explains everything  he is doing In great detail.  The staff from the front desk to the back are amazing and very nice.  Both of my dogs can get nervous at the vet, and Dr. Heard and his staff were calm and reassuring with my dogs the whole time.  I highly recommend this vet practice to everyone! This was our first visit, as our previous vet of over 17 years retired and Dr. Heard and his Staff exceeded our expectations.  Everyone is very kind and knowledgeable.  The took a lot of time with us and our dog and made sure to explain everything that they were doing.  They also sent us home with extremely detailed instructions regarding the medications and also printed materials for further knowledge.  I wish we met Dr Heard and his AMAZING staff years ago!!!  We will certainly be back with all of our pets. Dr. Heard is a wonderful vet and a very kind man! No matter the reason for your visit, he always gives your pet a "top to bottom" check-up. He thoroughly examines your pet and makes sure you understand your pet's condition and/or illness. While he examines your pet, he will call you over to look in your dog's ear or to feel a bump on your dog, etc. He educates the dog owner as well as treats your pet. He has an enormous heart and loves what he does. Kind and gentle, it's obvious he truly loves dogs and cats. He spends as much time as necessary with you and I never feel that I am being rushed out the door. His office staff is wonderful as well. They are so helpful and courteous! Communication is very easy with the office staff and it's evident they love animals as well. I think Dr Heard is a good vet, however every time (3) they were to call me with results of the tests, they failed to do so! I have left messages for someone to call me with the results and again they have failed to return my calls. I am disappointed. Read Less

We recently changed from our long time Vet, that was just too far in this traffic. We are so pleased with Dr. Heard's extensive knowledge, his kind and caring manner with our dogs. (And us sometimes anxious parents.) We are very happy to have him and his staff in our lives. Our male Jack Russell was abused in his previous household, and is very untrusting of human males. I visited the office with my dog to get more info and the vet spent about 20 minutes getting to know my dog. They were very caring and friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and relaxed. Our first appointment went smoothly and my dog was a lot more relaxed than usual. We've been taking our dog to Susan for years. It is definitely a no-frills place, but our dog does not fight us to go in. He gets a great haircut each time and seems to like it there. I find the staff pleasant. Again, no frills but the dog seems to like it and that's what we are here for. Read Less
