Lassiter is one of the better Veterinarians that I've ever been to.  We've taken all three of our dogs there for the last 3 years.  In 2012, we adopted a new puppy, 2 days before Christmas, from an animal rescue. By Christmas Day it had full on Parvo.  The next day I took it in and the prognosis was not good and I couldn't afford hospitalization.  So they were kind enough to work with me, sent me home with detailed instructions and meds, and let me come back each day for subcutaneous injections for hydration.  The puppy pulled through and is fine today.  It wouldn't have happened without their help.  For that I will always be indebted to them. What a great bunch of knowledgeable, caring people. They definitely go the extra mile to make you and your pet feel welcome and at ease. I had the pleasure to see Dr. Pifer and my chihuahua took to him right away. Not a bark or growl out of the doctor during our entire visit! ;) My chihuahua had been bitten by a large Dog and was hurting and afraid. The doc gently picked him up reassuring him, Then began explaining his injuries to me and what he needed to do. Dr Pifer carried him and gave him meds and put four staples in his little leg without any resistance. This doctor genuinely cares about his patients and their person. I had used Lassiter Animal Hospital for over five years. I appreciate them saving the life of one of my animals. However, I have moved on. They had originally offered me a discount if I bring in multiple animals. I am a breeder, and I want to have the kittens looked over before I sell them. The last time I was in they did not give me the discount. When I called them about it, I was met with an unfriendly front desk person (some of the front desk peeps are very nice, but not all of them). She relayed that the discount is "up to the vet." Well, the vet spent a total of 15 minutes on two animals, and I had a bill for over $100, I can't see why I did not get the discount. They would not budge. In addition some of the vets are snooty. One time I had to rush my animal in for an emergency urinary blockage. He was also scratching at his sides because he was having problems with his kidneys and had some small matted areas. The snooty vet said "you will need to attend to that." She also clipped off his ruff (this is a Persian that I do show) without my permission because some medicine had dribbled onto his ruff. I have found another vet that is much, much more accommodating to breeders, Santa Marietta Animal Hospital located close to Marietta Square. Read Less

What a great place to bring your pet, large or small! The staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive to both your pet's needs, as well as your concerns. My cat is usually skittish and timid around strangers but was comfortable around the experienced Veterinarian, Nancy Sorensen, who seems like a real animal lover (not as easy to find as you would expect). Both of the Vets we've visited with over the couple years we've been going have appeared to be naturals, not to mention knowledgeable and easygoing. The rooms are clean, everything appears well-maintained, and the rates and products are fairly priced (and not pushed unnecessarily on your animal if unneeded). Follow-up is always prompt and they send you friendly reminders too. I will continue to bring my lil' guy here even though I'm moving a little farther away, and would suggest it to anyone! Read Less

I moved to the Marietta area last year. Lassiter Animal Hospital is near me so I asked my son-in-law, who is a certified Vet Tech with an animal emergency hospital, about them. Because he had good things to say about them, I now take my 3-yr old husky/lab mix to them. The staff is very friendly and greets you like a long-time friend. My Chase is such a boy that he gets scrapes and cuts that we can't figure out how or what happened. But nothing seems to slow him down. However, one of those incidents had him bleeding that I couldn't stop. Although Lassiter had a full day of patients, they had me come right over and I was surprised that as soon as I checked in with Chase, they showed us to a room and he was with one of the doctors right away. I also use them for boarding when I have to go out of town. What better place to be, especially the way he tends to play. Read Less

Thanks to my Johnson Landing neighbors for pointing me in the right direction. Our sweet dog stopped eating and was running a fever. We got right in...even being brand new. Dr Lou diagnosed her immediately with two cracked infected molars and could see she was in pain. She is a senior dog and Dr Lou walked me through my options and provided a cost breakdown for me. This wonderful group schedule immediate surgery and the prices were very fair. I don't need bells and whistles and I can't stand the pressured up sells of so many of the other practices. The front office staff is consistently friendly and helpful, and they match pricing on pet meds anywhere. I appreciate the vets and their combined years of experience, as well as the great preventative care they provide. Today unfortunately we had to put down the family's first dog of almost 16 years next month. We have been taking him there his whole life and also our next three dogs and we couldn't be happier with the care and trust we have here. During the putting down process everyone was very concerned and helpful throughout the entire visit. It was very touching that when Dr. Sorensen performed the inject she got teary eyes and kissed our Oscar when she was taking him to the back. Nancy, the groomer has been grooming our almost 16 year dog, the one who had to be put to sleep today, and our almost 12 year other dog. She is absolutely wonderful, so sweet and you can tell that she truly cares for all the fur babies she grooms!! I recommend Lassiter Hospital to everyone!!! They are the absolute best. Our dog was diagnosed by another veterinarian with hip displaysia.  We took our dog to Dr Banner for a 2nd opinion on a Friday afternoon with deteriorating health.  She was extremely thorough with the evaluation and overly generous and caring.  She ultimately determined it was likely a neurological issue and recommended we visit UGA for evaluation since we were heading into the weekend and no available neurology care nearby.  UGA diagnosed our dog with Myasthenia Grava, a treatable neurological disease, but thankful Dr Banner was as knowledgeable and thorough as she was.  It may have been the difference in our dog making it through the weekend.  Thank you, Dr. Becky Banner!  Ps: thanks to the staff for heading out to the parking lot when you noticed my wife not being able to get our dog inside.  Thank you! I've been a client since 1991. That's 25 years next month! Back then I had two Persians and Dr. Pifer was amazing... They lived to be 22, and I had a bunny rabbit who lived to age 10. They have taken care of all my birds, as well. THEN in 2009 I got my first standard poodle, and now have two. Dr. Sorensen is fabulous with them! I moved across town and I still drive 40 minutes to see my vet. I will never leave... You cannot get more competent, efficient, caring, and dedicated professionals than this. My entire family takes our pets here.  Through the years that is 13 dogs.  LAH is great.  They are quick to get you in a room for an appointment.  They get you scheduled in soon when you have a semi emergency (like the time my terrier had a wolf worm in her skin...google it). They are super friendly.And you can tell they love what they do.  I haven't used them for boarding but for vet care I have been very satisfied.  And last time I got heartworm pills there they submitted the rebate card for me!  They go that extra step. The staff and doctors there are really helpful.  They offer sound advice without trying to extort the pet owner by pushing unnecessary tests.  When my very old cat was dying, they gave good advice on keeping her comfortable rather than trying to guilt me into spending thousands of dollars on treatments that would have ruined her last days.  In addition, their preventative care tips have helped keep my very old dog alive and comfortable much longer than expected. Always talk down to us and never greet you with a smile or make eye contact. If you chose not to purchase all of the over priced vaccinations and just desire to get basic care they treat you like a second class customer offering little to no profit. We were just advised our business is no longer welcome. Based on the format of the letter they must be sending a number of these out to similar clients that don't appreciate their rudeness and lecturing. Maybe  it might be them and not the customer. Pretty bold to assume that I was coming back.Doctor that wrote the letter has never even met us. If you are the owner wouldn't  you reach out to see what the issue is before you listen to the root of the problem possibly.One very rude office person and doctor insisted on treating me like I was six years old. Dirty and nasty as well.If there were no other choices In the county I would still suggest you go to anther state. Read Less

The doctors are extremely knowledgeable, most of the staff is very friendly and helpful.  Saturday's there will usually be a wait, but it's just because they have a lot of clients that love them.  Very good prices. I've boarded my dog and cat there and they did great.  They are very good with hard to handle cats and dogs. Read Less
