There’s one doctor here that I’m able to bring my sugar gliders to, Dr. Goodman. This has been by far the best experience I’ve ever had. I brought my sugar glider in on my birthday last month. She treated her for a UTI (which is what I suspected that she had). Since then, I have needed to call up there on three separate occasions for things they could have easily charged me again for and they DIDN’T. Im so impressed with the level of care and sympathy they have given. They don’t care just about the money, they genuinely care about the well being of my pets and financial situation. Highly disgusted with this place. Took my sweet baby here because he was drinking a lot.. The front counter shrugged it off like why are you here? So I go back and Dr. Goodman does a blood panel and tells me that my dog is diabetic, has hypothyroidism and have high liver values, so “don’t be surprised if he has liver disease or cancer!” What caring person in their right mind would say that to a dog mom???? She pretty much told me my dog was diabetic and give him all these pills come back in a month, and then she would show me how to do the insulin shots, don’t you think you should show me this visit???? So I leave and feel super unsure about but this. Partially because the vet gave my dog a prescription for a cat, when he is clearly a dog. How did she know how much insulin to give him? He’s a 25lb dog and she said 6 units twice a day. When we left he was completely lethargic, I took him to a different vet and she said stop the thyroid medication NOW because he does not have hypothyroidism, and continuing the medicine would give him hyperthyroidism. They checked his glucose levels and it was dangerously low, he had gov have it brought back up. She did a glucose curve and kept him, something this vet should have considered, and he was labeled perfect at 2.5 units twice a day. LESS THAN HALF of what this vet prescribed him. ALMOST KILLING HIM! Completely unprofessional, and careless. Hope nobody loses their baby to this place. Paid for multiple vet visits to fix what this place messed up And still no answers. Read Less

I am completely disgusted with this place, I have taken all three of my dogs here for the past 5 years, and always loved them. I took my sweet baby in last week, and found out he was diabetic, has hypothyroidism and has abnormally high liver enzymes, the Dr. told me “don’t be surprised if he has liver cancer.” She said “here you go, your dog is diabetic come back in three weeks.” Well first off, they gave me a prescription to get FELINE food when he is clearly a canine. So I ...contacted Saves in Fayetteville to get the correct food, because she said feline is higher in fats and can cause more complications in diabetic dogs. While I was at Saves, she said that 6 units of insulin for a 25lb dog seemed alarming, so she told me about Karo syrup, something the vet never mentioned to me, and could Save my dogs life. So after the high bill here I took my dog to another vet for a second opinion because something as easy as saying he’s the wrong species is just careless. So I took him to a much better vet, who seemed to be more knowledgeable and they suggested a glucose curve, which is something the Dr should have did without sending my sweet baby home. So I went back today for a glucose curve and his glucose with administrating the amount of insulin I was instructed to give by the vets at HCVH my dogs blood work came back with a blood sugar level of 70 which is considered dangerous and needed to be fed to bring it back up, and changed his dosage in half and they also told me that he in fact does NOT have hypothyroidism and if I continue the medication he will have hyperthyroidism, and his liver numbers have gone down almost 200 points. Extremely disappointed and angry that this vet almost costed me my dogs life!!!!! And an extra $200 to fix what they messed up! Unprofessional. Will never return, and will warn anyone of this place. Doctors Whitlock, West and Goodman are absolutely the best. Their support staff are kind, courteous and professional. They have taken great care of our cats and dogs for years. A few years back my blue healer Elvis crossed the rainbow bridge and the clinic took time to send a sympathy card for my loss. Capable, Competent, Caring & Compassionate! Bridgette my 11 yr old Bichon Frise had a spinal injury that rendered her paralyzed for the 2nd time in 2 years. The staff at HCVH moved into action to get her past vet records and to begin an immediate course of treatment. It has been over 6 months, and Bridgette is back to riding my motorcycle with me and enjoying her life. The ladies at the front are always very polite and always answer my questions. Finally, Doctor West is honestly the best vet I have ever been too, she truly loves animals and she is very tender handed with them. My baby Chanel is normally difficult with others but very relaxed with Dr. West, which was a great sign for me! Definitely recommend it! Read Less

Three days later I noticed Bo wasn't feeling any better. I called them back, and they told me to go ahead and bring him in. Checked his fever and it has risen from the last time we were in. They gave him a steroid shot to lower his fever and kept him for an hour. They were so sweet to me when I began to cry out of worry for my baby. They worked with me on my payment so that I would be able to treat him properly. They got his temperature down and let him come home. Not once did I feel like I was being judge for worrying over an "animal" as I have at other places. Each and everyone of them was so kind to me and my sweet Bo. I cannot express how thankful I am to have found such a compassionate vet. I will not be going anywhere else. Thank you so much!Read Less

I brought my dog Zoey Odom in to be spayed at 8 AM on Thursday the 10th! I received a call from the Doctor Who told me to pick her up by 5:30pm so I did! I could not even get home before my 13 year old daughter was in the back with her screaming "Mama she's pouring out blood help"! The Doctor Who operated on Zoey cut into a major artery/vein and if I wouldn't have rushed her to Woodland Animal hospital she would have died as they had to do another immediate surgery to save her life which cost us $1500 SO and no way shape, form, or fashion what I recommend this place to my WORST enemy. In fact IF the bill is not picked up and paid for in FULL, we then will proceed with an attorney Shame on you!!!!!!! Read Less

Highly highly upset where do I begin. I kennel my dogs King Solomon and Isaiah Christmas on 04/24/15 - 04/27/15 I picked them up on the 27TH, this was my first time kenneling my dogs and I will say because of this experience... When I first go in and up to the counter to retrieve my babies I can already sense an issue approaching, I tell them who I'm here to pick up and they asked if I would be paying for them together I said "together of course", then the rep went around about way of getting to the cost well not only did they charge me for kenneling they gave both of my dogs a bath (something I had not requested and charged me $45 extra dollars even though I had already given them both baths before kenneling them). They said they only gave Isaiah a bath yet Solomon smelt of the same shampoo, either way I paid it because of the trick question on the forum that said "did your dog have a bath before departure?" I checked yes because Isaiah had but apparently they were phrasing it to mean do you want your dog to have a bath before leaving THAT FACILITY! Either way I accepted that and I paid. Then they gave Solomon shots after hearing my mother say she already paid for them and had the nerve to tell me "You guys had a misunderstanding about the boarding shots correct?" I said no if I recall correctly my mother told you very specifically that she got all of Solomon's shots before boarding yet you're charging her again, at this point I was more than done and I said you know what just tell me how much is this going to be so I can go they tried to say some bs about "well just next time make sure you...." As if I was in the wrong I ignored that bit of advice because I will never go to this vet ever again in life for any services, but last but not least what has broken the camels for me to write the review is whatever products they used on Isaiah has caused a sever rash he did have bumps on his body but they've gone down thanks to antibodies but there is a rash his neck and I'm just so angry I feel like going down there and just but you know what I won't I should sue them for what they did to my baby and on top of that ever since my dogs got back they've been popping and peeing all over the house which means they were kept in cages that whole entire time they also didn't feed them enough because Isaiah ate and drank like a starved man I'm just so upset so I hope they enjoy that $209 and change because they'll never get another penny out of me, I'm still thinking about suing them for what they've done to Isaiah and the medication I had to spend! I have been taking my dog there for almost three years and could not be happier with the staff, service and treatment - and their prices are great.
