I am really happy that I brought my sweet furbaby to this vet office. We’re new to the area and I had a hard time trying to choose an office that would see you without a appointment. I brought my Maltese in for a suspicion of UTI. That did X-rays and found out that she was constipated and from my findings at home on her pad, their was glittery, sand like crystals in her urine. Brought my sisters dog Ziggy there recently because he was really sick. Turns out he had acute pancreatitis & needed to stay for a few days. The nurses were very straight forward about asking what kind of budget we were working with & explained the processes & costs. They took great care of Ziggy & even gave him his vaccines. The place was pretty busy but in my opinion that shows how much everyone in the area really likes Dr. Cambell & the staff. We have two Boxers and five small dogs, the small dogs are rescues, so we are concerned with costs. Poor rating because they don't keep a clean place, they gave me antibiotics and when I asked another vet about it I was told it's because they don't keep a clean place and this place was only that ever gave me that stuff. Also when I take kittens to get looked at because they were sick they took them from me without asking if I wanted to keep them, then had the nerve to confront me in parking lot to say they are not an animal shelter. Also don't trust any of the woman that work there, they say they have so many cats people don't want but when I gave one away threw FB without knowing it was her, she had to supplies to take care of kitten which made me to believe they use them for the colleges for experiments and that they don't really take care of them or have them like they claim. I do not recommend you taking your beloved fur babies to this vet. My precious healthy 6 year old Boxer had a fallen accident, when I realized she was in distress I immediately took her in to be examined. I was told that she had extensive abdominal bruising. Upon an x-ray, and blood work I was told she had a kidney infection and was prescribed antibiotic, pain med and nausea med and was told to bring her back if she was not better. After a couple of days her condition worsened. To make a long story short, after four visits, which included two overnight stays, treatments, surgery, and a $1,000 I was told by the vet that she should recover. I was very hopeful and had planned to pick her up the next day, but instead got a call from one of the staff members (not Dr. Campbell) telling me that my precious baby had died during the night. I am extremely heart broken. I don't feel that this vet was honest with me about the extent of the injuries, which allowed my sweet baby to suffer unnecessarily for such an extended time. I know I would have been devastated if I had known the truth but at least she would not have suffered so much. I loved her so much. Read Less

My dog, Brutus crossed over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday afternoon after fighting heart trouble. I would like to thank the Doctors & Staff at Heart of Georgia Animal Care for the fantastic care, concern & love they showed to Brutus & myself over his life till the end. Took our 15 year-old cat in and it was quickly determined that she had pancreatitis but the vet wanted to run some tests to verify. We agreed but things seemed a bit sketchy so we asked to see a detailed list of tests being run. As soon as we asked for a list the vet got very defensive and cold. He disappeared and had his assistant try to justify why they were testing for leukemia, aids, and a host of other seemingly pointless tests. It was so obvious that they were just running up the bill. My wife pressed the assistant to explain (stern, but polite) and the assistant left and got the vet, who came in very heated and defensive. He, with a raised voice, told us that he was the vet and we were not. He loudly insisted that all the tests were necessary, to which my wife calmly asked "why?" and he just got flustered and said "fine! what do you want to do?!" We agreed to do 2 of the 8 tests they wanted to do (the pancreatitis test, and an x-ray) and the pancreatitis test came back positive. The guy seems to know his stuff, and I'm confident he can "care" for your animal, but he's a greedy, big-headed, jerk who seems to really only care for dollar signs. Read Less

Heart of GA has the best staff. Yes, it can sometimes take forever but that means to me that each animal is getting good care and not just a once over. My cat had to have emergency surgery and they even called to check on her after she was home. My dog had heart disease and they took excellent care of her up until she died, and the cost wasn't outrageous. Read Less

So after going to Heart Of Georgia Animal Care for years and being completely happy with Dr. Campbell taking care of my pet's I was very upset to hear that I have been "DELETED" from his file and can no longer take my animals to him because I will now be considered a new client because I haven't been since 2014. I have not had the need to go to him because my pets are fine.The staff needs to be up to date on what he does and no longer does I called to have my baby goat dehorned and was told he did it so I got my husband to take her which we live 30 miles away ,but when he gets there he was told he doesn't do it any more and that is when I found out I could no longer take my pet's there. I guess he doesn't think the same of his client's that has been going for years paying for good care which means a lot to people that love their animals and you can just push a button and "poof Your Gone" next, um their not spending enough money here your gone, next.I'm guessing that a lot of people you got rid of are the one's that were there since you were open and helped you business get where it is with their money and word of mouth. Dr.Campbell is an amazing vet. He has been the only vet treating my animals for 6 years. His prices are very reasonable. You will receive high quality vet care for a reasonable price. Another high end vet was ready to put my sisters dog to sleep claiming it had a flipped stomach. Dr. Campell was able to use the other vets x-rays and determine it was a stomach virus. When we go out of town we also board our dog there which we don't worry anymore because we know he's being well taken carry of. The wait time was awful, even if you had an appointment. We were required to put our purchases of heartworm and flea medication into a data base; when we didn't purchase the medication from him (we found it cheaper at another vet who didn't fool with that data base stuff) he tried to push us to have our animals tested. He always put my dog to sleep in order to groom him; poor guy ended up with a cyst the last time as the result of a dirty needle! He denied such a thing happened, of course, even though I had began noticing the cyst that week and another vet confirmed it was possible given the location and my observations. The last straw was when we took a dog with what looked like a wart on her chin to him. He tried to rip it off with his hand without numbing the area. He failed, but he had us leave his office with a bleeding dog saying she needed surgery and a biopsy and to make an appointment. HA!Read Less

This morning my dog was hit by a car (according to Dean Campbell) we called in advance to postpone payment till Friday and they told us to go ahead and bring her in. Once we got there and they looked at her, they wouldn't treat her unless payment was made in full. So they sent her home with this wound you can see in the picture. The wound is deep enough to see bone. She can barely walk on her right paw, and she has lacerations on her belly and legs. Obviously the need for payment ($45) outweighed the well being of our dog. We were told to come back when we had the money and treat her ourselves and just watch her. I didn't go to veterinarian school which is why I trusted him to take care of our dog. But I guess Heart Of Georgia Animal Care would rather have 45 dollars than see a healthy dog walk out of their doors.
