As a dog breeder for 10 years, we take good care of our goldens and puppies and do more health testing than suggested on our adults (hips, elbows, eyes, heart, skin, etc.). Recently, I needed to get a vet health certificate so a puppy could fly to their new family. Over the years we have probably gone to vets 15 times for this paperwork. I was quoted the wrong price on the phone and then required to pay for fecal sample (even though we have done ALL the preventative measures of deworming, etc.) and go home Friday without the certificate to await results Saturday and the final certificate to be filled out. NEVER before have I gone home without the certificate. I never received a call, email, or text the next morning letting me know the fecal results or that the certificates were done. Now, when I call, the office is closed, and they don't open until 7am Monday morning and I am to have the puppy at the airport at 6:30am. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

The one thing I loved about Medlock Bridge was the receptionists who were so kind. But other than that I don't know. I found a hungry, limping, stray dog and after I was unable to locate his owners via microchip, I decided to keep him. I immediately took him to the vet for a check up because I don't know anything about taking care of a dog, but the doctor wasn't really interested in looking at my dog or speaking to me. She petted him for a second and said he looked good. It was by luck that I thought to ask if dogs needed vaccines or else my dog would be at risk for so many things right now. She gave him the shots and that's it. She also told me that he was not limping and that I probably mistook something else he did for limping. I asked about how to officially own the dog and they told me to call animal control because animal control handles stray ownership. When I called animal control the man said he had never received a phone call like this before. I left the vet that day having spent over $200 except I didn't even know how much my dog weighed, how old he was, what kind of dog, if he was healthy...Later that night I finally realized why he was limping -- he had a huge cut that sliced through the bottom of his front right paw. I definitely didn't go back. I would have had to pay the $60 check up fee to tell the doctor what she overlooked and I just didn't feel comfortable with that. I also wanted to get him neutered and they told me it would cost $500 but after calling around I found that Pet Med Plus charged $300, so I went there and met the most amazing doctor/staff. I now go there permanently.I would recommend skipping Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital and finding a more affordable, more knowledgeable, and more attentive vet.

My dogs boarded for the first time over the weekend. It was a last minute boarding and the staff was so friendly. My dogs seemed to have enjoyed themselves and I didn't get any complaints. The staff members were very welcoming and knowledgeable, and I felt like they really loved my dogs (especially Chump) :-) if I ever need to board them again, I wouldn't hesitate to take them there! Super sweet!

We have been using Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital since we moved into the area in 2014. We have dogs and cats, and all of them have been happy clients of this animal hospital. From routine visits and vaccinations to illnesses, injuries, and difficult end of life decisions, Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital has been there with us through it all. I love that the facility takes walk-ins. Most of the time, this allows for great flexibility when trying to juggle multiple family members' schedules and the need for veterinary care. However, when my pets have emergencies, it is almost always on a Friday or Saturday at closing time, and it may be tough to see a doctor at that time. However, in most of my experiences, the staff will think outside of the box to ensure that your pet is safe and comfortable until he or she can see a doctor. We have worked with several staff members and doctors, and all have been kind, caring, and helpful.I said goodbye to the elderly dog of my life earlier this year, and this office helped me make some terribly difficult decisions. The card I received the following week was truly one of the most thoughtful cards I have ever received in my life.Great facility and people!

I can't say enough good about Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital. I have never had to wait more than just a few minutes, the staff is friendly and helpful.
We used their services when both of our Boston Terriers were at the end of their lives from old age diseases. The staff couldn't be more compassionate. Every person that worked there signed a condolence card and sent it to us, it was very touching.

This morning we woke up with our dog having a little bit of a health concern. After freaking out, as we are new to the area and have yet to establish with a Vet, we made a call to this clinic. From the moment I spoke to someone on the phone to the moment we got in the car to leave, we experienced nothing but excellent service.
The woman I spoke to on the phone, I believe her name was Noel, patiently listened as I freaked out and explained what was going on with our dog, she let us know that they were taking walk-ins until noon (their hours on a Saturday), and they would be happy to see our fur baby, just to bring her in.
We made our way over, and they were quick in getting her in. Brittney took the information on what was going on, and took Mitzi (our fur baby) to get weighed. While Mitzi was reluctant to go, when she came back she she was at ease. They explained what was going on, and a few minutes later the doctor came in and explained things in further detail.
Checking out, they were having issues with their printer, and the woman there offered to mail us the receipt. After we left, as we were getting in the car, she came running after us because it happened to print.
This is an A+ clinic with A+ staff, and we are happy to say that we are planning to stick with this clinic for the long term because of the great care that they provided today.

We brought our dog here about two months ago to be groomed. When we came to pick her up, we were shocked to see that she had been cut with scissors and ended up with a huge gash. The vet glued the wound, which re-opened a few days later. No precautions were taken (ie. no cone was given to us to prevent our dog from licking her wound). Subsequently, the wound failed to heal properly. We made another trip to the Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital and requested a cone ourselves, which allowed her wound to heal. After being in such extensive pain, our dog had stopped eating for the duration of the injury. Obviously very concerned, we brought her back to the vet. The vet stated that she had kidney failure. A hand-written piece of paper was returned to us asking us to consider humane euthanasia. Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital did not provide the proper quality of care throughout this whole ordeal. We did not expect for our dog to be given back to us in such a condition from a simple grooming. All in all, I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

I lived down the block from these guys until I moved away 13 years ago and had been pleased with their service overall. At that time they also offered boarding for dogs and I used them one weekend. When I picked up my two Westies on Monday they were covered with urine. I had paid to have them groomed when I dropped them off that Friday. When I took them out to the parking lot my dogs made a beeline to a patch of grass and proceeded to defecate at least three different times. They were in distress from not defecating all weekend. Since they were housebroken my guess was that no one took them out of their crate all weekend and they held it for three days until I picked them up. They also caught some intestinal bug because they spent the rest of the week having major issues. I returned to the vet and complained about the service they had provided and while they apologized and treated the dogs for the intestinal issue at no cost I vowed to never return. I asked for a return of the grooming fee I had paid and got some resistance since the groomer was a subcontractor but I said it wasn't fair to the groomer or my dogs for the lack of care my dogs received over the weekend. I told the vet to refund me the grooming fee and to pay the groomer out of their till. They finally agreed.
I recently moved back to this area and decided to not use them as my vet because of that negative experience. Unless there has been a turnaround in ownership or protocol for boarding I will not bring my animals back there.

We said goodbye to our sweet Kendall this morning. She lived a wonderful life, beyond the years expected for an Airedale. For nearly 13 years, Kendall has been a delightful pet and companion to us all. When I became her "Step Mom" she became my partner, overseeing our home, guarding the pool and attentively caring for our family and friends. We were able to sit with Kendall and snuggle her into her favorite bed when the vet put her to sleep. It was a very gentle and peaceful end to her suffering. We are all very sad but also relieved. Kendall's kidneys were failing. We've been juggling a variety of medications to try and keep her comfortable but she's been letting us know it was time to go. When she couldn't get comfortable this morning we all agreed that it was time to let her rest. We'd like to thank Dr. Ballon and our friends at Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital for their gentle guidance and compassion through this process.

As a dog breeder for 10 years, we take good care of our goldens and puppies and do more health testing than suggested on our adults (hips, elbows, eyes, heart, skin, etc.). Recently, I needed to get a vet health certificate so a puppy could fly to their new family. Over the years we have probably gone to vets 15 times for this paperwork. I was quoted the wrong price on the phone and then required to pay for fecal sample (even though we have done ALL the preventative measures of deworming, etc.) and go home Friday without the certificate to await results Saturday and the final certificate to be filled out. NEVER before have I gone home without the certificate. I never received a call, email, or text the next morning letting me know the fecal results or that the certificates were done. Now, when I call, the office is closed, and they don't open until 7am Monday morning and I am to have the puppy at the airport at 6:30am. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

The one thing I loved about Medlock Bridge was the receptionists who were so kind. But other than that I don't know. I found a hungry, limping, stray dog and after I was unable to locate his owners via microchip, I decided to keep him. I immediately took him to the vet for a check up because I don't know anything about taking care of a dog, but the doctor wasn't really interested in looking at my dog or speaking to me. She petted him for a second and said he looked good. It was by luck that I thought to ask if dogs needed vaccines or else my dog would be at risk for so many things right now. She gave him the shots and that's it. She also told me that he was not limping and that I probably mistook something else he did for limping. I asked about how to officially own the dog and they told me to call animal control because animal control handles stray ownership. When I called animal control the man said he had never received a phone call like this before. I left the vet that day having spent over $200 except I didn't even know how much my dog weighed, how old he was, what kind of dog, if he was healthy...Later that night I finally realized why he was limping -- he had a huge cut that sliced through the bottom of his front right paw. I definitely didn't go back. I would have had to pay the $60 check up fee to tell the doctor what she overlooked and I just didn't feel comfortable with that. I also wanted to get him neutered and they told me it would cost $500 but after calling around I found that Pet Med Plus charged $300, so I went there and met the most amazing doctor/staff. I now go there permanently.I would recommend skipping Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital and finding a more affordable, more knowledgeable, and more attentive vet.

My dogs boarded for the first time over the weekend. It was a last minute boarding and the staff was so friendly. My dogs seemed to have enjoyed themselves and I didn't get any complaints. The staff members were very welcoming and knowledgeable, and I felt like they really loved my dogs (especially Chump) :-) if I ever need to board them again, I wouldn't hesitate to take them there! We have been using Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital since we moved into the area in 2014. We have dogs and cats, and all of them have been happy clients of this animal hospital. From routine visits and vaccinations to illnesses, injuries, and difficult end of life decisions, Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital has been there with us through it all. I love that the facility takes walk-ins. Most of the time, this allows for great flexibility when trying to juggle multiple family members' schedules and the need for veterinary care. However, when my pets have emergencies, it is almost always on a Friday or Saturday at closing time, and it may be tough to see a doctor at that time. However, in most of my experiences, the staff will think outside of the box to ensure that your pet is safe and comfortable until he or she can see a doctor. We have worked with several staff members and doctors, and all have been kind, caring, and helpful.I said goodbye to the elderly dog of my life earlier this year, and this office helped me make some terribly difficult decisions. The card I received the following week was truly one of the most thoughtful cards I have ever received in my life.Great facility and people!

We used their services when both of our Boston Terriers were at the end of their lives from old age diseases. The staff couldn't be more compassionate. Every person that worked there signed a condolence card and sent it to us, it was very touching.

This morning we woke up with our dog having a little bit of a health concern. After freaking out, as we are new to the area and have yet to establish with a Vet, we made a call to this clinic. From the moment I spoke to someone on the phone to the moment we got in the car to leave, we experienced nothing but excellent service.
The woman I spoke to on the phone, I believe her name was Noel, patiently listened as I freaked out and explained what was going on with our dog, she let us know that they were taking walk-ins until noon (their hours on a Saturday), and they would be happy to see our fur baby, just to bring her in.
We made our way over, and they were quick in getting her in. Brittney took the information on what was going on, and took Mitzi (our fur baby) to get weighed. While Mitzi was reluctant to go, when she came back she she was at ease. They explained what was going on, and a few minutes later the doctor came in and explained things in further detail.
Checking out, they were having issues with their printer, and the woman there offered to mail us the receipt. After we left, as we were getting in the car, she came running after us because it happened to print.
This is an A+ clinic with A+ staff, and we are happy to say that we are planning to stick with this clinic for the long term because of the great care that they provided today.

We brought our dog here about two months ago to be groomed. When we came to pick her up, we were shocked to see that she had been cut with scissors and ended up with a huge gash. The vet glued the wound, which re-opened a few days later. No precautions were taken (ie. no cone was given to us to prevent our dog from licking her wound). Subsequently, the wound failed to heal properly. We made another trip to the Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital and requested a cone ourselves, which allowed her wound to heal. After being in such extensive pain, our dog had stopped eating for the duration of the injury. Obviously very concerned, we brought her back to the vet. The vet stated that she had kidney failure. A hand-written piece of paper was returned to us asking us to consider humane euthanasia. Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital did not provide the proper quality of care throughout this whole ordeal. We did not expect for our dog to be given back to us in such a condition from a simple grooming. All in all, I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

I lived down the block from these guys until I moved away 13 years ago and had been pleased with their service overall. At that time they also offered boarding for dogs and I used them one weekend. When I picked up my two Westies on Monday they were covered with urine. I had paid to have them groomed when I dropped them off that Friday. When I took them out to the parking lot my dogs made a beeline to a patch of grass and proceeded to defecate at least three different times. They were in distress from not defecating all weekend. Since they were housebroken my guess was that no one took them out of their crate all weekend and they held it for three days until I picked them up. They also caught some intestinal bug because they spent the rest of the week having major issues. I returned to the vet and complained about the service they had provided and while they apologized and treated the dogs for the intestinal issue at no cost I vowed to never return. I asked for a return of the grooming fee I had paid and got some resistance since the groomer was a subcontractor but I said it wasn't fair to the groomer or my dogs for the lack of care my dogs received over the weekend. I told the vet to refund me the grooming fee and to pay the groomer out of their till. They finally agreed.
I recently moved back to this area and decided to not use them as my vet because of that negative experience. Unless there has been a turnaround in ownership or protocol for boarding I will not bring my animals back there.

We said goodbye to our sweet Kendall this morning. She lived a wonderful life, beyond the years expected for an Airedale. For nearly 13 years, Kendall has been a delightful pet and companion to us all. When I became her "Step Mom" she became my partner, overseeing our home, guarding the pool and attentively caring for our family and friends. We were able to sit with Kendall and snuggle her into her favorite bed when the vet put her to sleep. It was a very gentle and peaceful end to her suffering. We are all very sad but also relieved. Kendall's kidneys were failing. We've been juggling a variety of medications to try and keep her comfortable but she's been letting us know it was time to go. When she couldn't get comfortable this morning we all agreed that it was time to let her rest. We'd like to thank Dr. Ballon and our friends at Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital for their gentle guidance and compassion through this process.
