Absolutely love the care my horses receive at Valley Vet with Dr. Mike and Dr. Rachel. The quality of care is on par with Auburn large animal hospital, if not better, and they don't run the bill up like other places. Both vets have a wealth of experience and are always happy to answer my questions, and they only pursue practical treatment plans. My horses get excellent veterinary care at an affordable price. So we are on the road for three months with our fur baby Abbey. She had a sore on her leg, and we wanted to make sure it was not infected or needed any treatment.     We spend time at the Big Bear Canine Activity Center right next door, so this was a natural selection for us. And are we glad we came here.    On a Friday morning it's a very busy office. But our wait was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place. The doctors are very friendly, and genuinely seem to care about your pets, they are way better on prices than a lot of places. Horrible bed side manor. I will never go here again! My dog was not just old and weak. Found out from another clinic she had cancer all thru her body and fluid in her lungs and around her heart. So u telling me she's fine and just old with arthritis was not ok. She was fine the day prior. If you're going to be a crabby old Man U should not work in a public place. Read Less

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Rachel, Dr. Mike and all the staff at VVA. They have been our personal vet since we moved to Georgia. They are passionate, caring, smart and fun. I am posting this 6 months after my dogs unfortunate death. I am still angry at them. My dog was a corgi and had severe hip displacia. His condition grew worse and worse over several years. It got to the point where his feet would constantly bleed whenever he walked. He would stay up all night crying. He would go without sleep for days on end. I would try and be with him as much as possible. It got to the point where it was just his time. Valley Vets made this extremely difficult and tried to continue to get money out of me. They have done this to be number of people. They refused to help and told me to find another get. I implore you to do the same. Read Less

Valley Vet has helped with so many of our beloved pets over the years. Dr. Rachel was there when our cat Nini had a broken leg and we were scared to death for her. Dr. Mike was there when I was freaking out because my little kitten Ziggy died, even after we tried for two weeks to keep him alive. They were there for Ruffy and Dottie and for my parents' oh-so-loved little Scrappy in his last weeks of life. They were there for my parents' cats Midnight and Jezebel, and they were recently in league with God to literally save the life of my parents' tiny chihuahua, Bitsy Pollock. Bitsy was attacked by some kind of animal and Mama said it did not seem possible that she could survive, but God intervened and Valley Vet did their thing and ...ta da! Miss Bitsy is home, recovering well, and just took two long happy walks with me this past weekend, strutting her cute stuff! Except for the scarring under her front leg on one side, you'd never know this little queen had suffered so much and fought so hard. Awesome Vet and the best prices ever! Everybody is happy and friendly I just love the atmosphere. When my little dog was sick and I had her in the Animal Hospital nobody knew what was wrong with her. She was not able to move, drink or eat. I received some pain medication and some Antibiotics, neither one did her any good. They did not know what was wrong with my little dog. I was told I need blood work and x-rays. I already did spend $179 Dollar and that was another $200. I met a woman in the parking lot who told me about a great vet in Pine Mountain, so I went all the way from Columbus to Pine Mountain. Within a few minutes he knew what was wrong with my little teacup, without any x-rays or blood work. He gave her a shot, some medication and she was like new. And all that for I think $49 dollars. I pay normally $75 just to be seen. I would highly recommend the Valley Veterinary in Pine Mountain! Read Less

Don't bring your animals here. They will take advantage of you. All they really care about is money. They will even let your animals suffer a horrible death and prescribe medications to your animal that are not proper. This was my experience. Bottom line, don't bring your animals to this vet. For those who read reviews: My cat PepperJack injured his paw and since it was not healing on its own, I took him to Valley Vet Associates and met with Dr. Schwitalla- immediately he said my cat needed his toe amputated. We scheduled several follow up visits and finally scheduled the amputation. Please keep in mind during these visits I never met with the female doctor, Dr. Burlton. I was under the impression since I had continually met with Dr. Schwitalla he would perform the amputation. On the day of surgery, I had PepperJack dropped off and the next day he was able to come home. Due to scheduling conflicts a relative had to pick PepperJack up for me. That evening after the business hours, I discovered they amputated the incorrect toe. The next morning as soon as they opened I immediately called them and they confessed to the mistake, even more alarming the doctor I was under the impression who was doing the surgery, Dr. Schwitalla, did not do the surgery. Dr. Burlton did. Dr. Schwitalla even said to me that Dr. Burlton called him and asked "What toe was being amputated?" Given that there was obvious confusion, I would think they would have taken a time out to clear any confusion. But no, they did not and my cat lost a perfectly healthy toe for no reason what so ever. I have since been taking my cat to another vet and they have been so accommodating for him. First thing was pointed out that Valley Vet Associates did not even prescribe any pain medication for my cat so for 2 days he was in complete pain after the surgery. I am greatly dissatisfied with the professionalism and medical experience of Valley Vet Associates. My cat PepperJack is a part of my family and I love/adore him. He will not get his toe back and it did not need to be removed. If you visit VVA and they suggest a major surgery I would follow up with another vet first for a second opinion. I will never return to them EVER. I do not consider them poor or fair I consider them unethical and awful. Read Less

I had to put a beloved friend of 18 years down and Dr. Rachel was the kindest person and was so sympathetic towards my feelings. I consider these people at Valley Vet my family and it is nice knowing I can turn to them for anything. They always bend over backwards to help me no matter how petty or crazy the question.
