We found DHAH eight years ago and when our vet at that time miss diagnosed a rescue we were taking in. From the beginning it has been a place of calmness and reassurance. Dr Toth and his team are kind, knowledgeable and loving to your pet family. Our most recent experience was when the decision was made to put our 13 yr old cat asleep. Prior to that decision every possible choice had been offered and Dr Toth called to check on her each time. While painful it was a procedure that was done with dignity and explanation at each step. After having the same vet for 20 years, it is daunting to start over. When I first called for information, I knew it was a special place. I lost my Lab Molly last month after almost 14 years. It was one of the hardest days of my life. The entire staff was caring and so understanding from the second Molly and I walked in to when I left with an empty collar and a leash. They went above and beyond my expectations when they without me asking took a ceramic casting of my Mollys Paw after I left , It was waiting for me in the mail when I got home from vacation today. always receive the best service....my golden puppy ate something that did not agree with him. i called the office and was told to bring him right in. as soon as we got there he was immediately taken to the back for evaluation. within one hour he was given fluids and medicine. by the time we got home i had my happy puppy back. thanks dr. toth for making toby feel himself again. I can't say enough good things about Dallas Highway Animal Hospital! My cat had been suffering with chronic sinus infections for two years and another local animal hospital was unable to figure out what was wrong and after a while I got the feeling that they didn't really care to find out. After switching, Dr. Toth not only had him diagnosed, but after one month he is so much better! I get a weekly call from the vet for status updates and I'm so glad we finally have a plan in place. We visited last weekend on a snow day. I called first thing in the AM and they quickly fit us in (even with the weather conditions). I felt as if my puppy needed immediate care and they provided that for my puppy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The vet explained everything thoroughly and seemed to genuinely care for the health of our new puppy. He didn't rush us through our appointment and really listened to our concerns! Will definitely be returning for all of our future visits and would definitely recommend to anybody that needs vet care for their animals. I board my furbaby, Maggie, here and I won't go anywhere else. The office personnel call and leave you updates and if anything goes wrong, Dr. Toth himself will call and let you know what's going on. If there is an infection or illness and they believe it was due to their error, they don't charge you. We've used this vet office for multiple pets through the years. They are always friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Toth is a super nice guy who genuinely cares about his patients. The office is run by "Bossman", and he loves a good scratch behind the ears.They have helped us with our dog and a few cats, including one that had serious health problems. I have two senior dogs with allergy problems. They have both been treated by all 3 vets over the passed 16 months. I didn't think i could find a veterinary hospital that came up to the level of care compared to the one we had been going to for years in Illinois. However DHAH matches them on all levels. The receptionist was nice, but Dr. Gaines, not so much. We brought our cat in because of her sneezing and loss of appetite. Dr. Gaines seemed annoyed because I brought my two very well-behaved children with me. She diagnosed our cat and gave her a shot of antibiotic and a water pouch for her dehydration. She also ran a test to see if her liver was functioning properly. After she was finished she said that she would call the next day to see how our cat was doing. I never heard from her. I also think our cat was misdiagnosed because our she is still sneezing as bad as she was and her appetite has not come back. I believe she is about to die. Also, I checked with a vet friend in another town in Georgia how much Dr. Gaines treatment should have cost and he said $150. I was charged $226. I am taking our poor cat to another vet tomorrow and will never go back to DHAH. Read Less

They listen to the cares and concerns of the owners, they are honest and never push a particular treatment because of money. They are all very gentle with the animals and treat them kindly. I have never been dissatisfied with Dallas highway Animal Hospital. I have worked with two of their veterinarians and was pleased with both professionals. The time that impressed me the most was how caring they were when I had to put a very aged, cancer ridden Basset Hound down. I have never felt treated better in any other place, which is why I will not take my animals anywhere else. They lost me for good.  I made an appt. for my dog for 4:30pm on a Friday, being I get off of work at 4pm. When I arrived, they told me my appt. was at 4pm and that they can't take me.  Needless to say I was pretty pissed off.  They tried to debate it with me, and said the person who made the appt. had gone home...as if they would remember me specifically.  I was in the right, not them, and being it was the end of they day you'd think they'd take me anyway.  They screwed up and made me pay the price.  When they asked if I wanted to reschedule I said "hell no" and walked out the door.  Goodbye Dallas Hwy Animal Hosp.
