The reason I am giving this 2 stars is because I know there are multiple doctors within this practice, and I have not seen them all. However, I will tell my story of why I switched vets.
I adopted a very sick little kitten. I brought him to Cedar to get his first round of shots, fecal test, feline leukemia test, and to get these multiple bald patches checked out. Fecal test came up negative. The bald patches were determined as ringworm, even without a simple wood's lamp test, or even caring to take a culture. If he was a human being coming into a doctor's office with a testable illness, there is no way a responsible doctor would just NOT test him and blindly send him on his way. The vet told me to just rub this cream on him and just don't sleep with the kitten and everything will be fine. If you know ANYTHING about ringworm (and by now I'm a freakin expert on it) IT IS NOT JUST A SIMPLE 'rub some cream on it and don't sleep with him'. Unsatisfied with that answer, I did some research on this nightmare of a fungus. I called back to ask if they would start my kitten on a Lyme sulfur dip regimen, which has been proven nearly most effective at curing ringworm. The vet told me to bathe my solid white kitten in BETADINE instead! Fed up, I scheduled an appointment with another practice.
At this next practice, they redid his fecal exam, which supposedly should have been negative, but instead came up positive for TWO intestinal parasites that this vet let me see for myself under the microscope, plain as day, ONE DAY LATER. He also stressed to me what a HUGE deal ringworm is and how involved it is to properly treat and care for. He also showed me the glowing ringworm lesions on my kitten under the wood's lamp. He said that my kitten was completely covered in ringworm and that the topical cream would never heal him. We started him on the Lyme sulfur regimen, but not in time apparently, because I personally had FOURTEEN ringworm lesions, my dog had 4, and now my other cat is developing a spot on her ear.
This has been a complete nightmare that could have been avoided with proper education, testing, and care that should have been delivered by Cedar. They have ruined my little family for the next 2 to 6 months or more with their crappy education and failure to stress the nature of this infection! Read Less
