Team
I am a New Jersey native, but have been down south for over 18 years. While growing up in New Jersey I was involved in the family business of horse racing. My involvement in the daily care of horses and exposure to the variety of medical needs required by the horses kickstarted pursuit of becoming a veterinarian. My first stop down south was for college at Clemson University. I received a bachelors of science degree in animal sciences. After achieving my undergraduate degree, I was headed to Alabama to attend Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. I was extremely honored to be accepted into the program as 1 of the 10 out of state students. Following veterinary school, I was accepted into a rotating internship with an emphasis on critical care at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. After spending 13 months in the frigid Boston weather, I accepted a position at Cobb Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Marietta, GA. Our facility served as a referral hospital for the local veterinary clinics in metro-Atlanta area. I was on staff as an emergency room clinician from 2005-2013. During my years working in the ER, I treated a wide array of complex and advanced medical conditions and performed all types of complex soft tissue surgeries. While on staff at Cobb ER, I also enjoyed serving as a resource and consultant for local veterinarians. It was an incredible experience to be in a position to not only help the animals I cared for as patients, but give back to the veterinary community. In 2013, I made the decision to finally hang up my ER hat and purchased Chattahoochee Animal Clinic. I truly enjoy the ability to form relationships with pet owners and their beloved 'other' family members. I still have a special interest in emergency cases and the treatment of the critically sick patients, but also enjoy managing the chronic conditions that some patients face as they age. I have taken a personal interest in osteoarthritis management and enjoy finding new ways to keep our older canine and feline friends mobile and pain free. I always look forward to the '2nd opinion' case, so whenever you have additional questions on a previous diagnosis please come by. My personal goal as a veterinarian is to serve as a patient advocate and public educator in small animal health. I believe that an educated pet parent is a great pet parent and it is up to us as veterinarians to help them become great. On the personal side, I am married to my beautiful wife, Lindsey. We have 2 boys, Hudson and Gavin. When I am not at the clinic(and that is rare!), I enjoy gardening, watching college and NFL football, and spending time with my family. I place a huge emphasis in family-life and hanging out together as a family on a Saturday night watching a game or movie is nirvana for me! I look forward to seeing all current clients and potential clients soon.
