URGENT - IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET PLEASE DO NOT BRING THEM HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! We adopted our beautiful kitten from the humane society and as a complimentary service you're supposed to take your pet here for a follow up visit within 10 days after the adoption. From the moment we walked in, customer service was horrible. The receptionists never properly greeted us and at the end of the visit all they cared about was getting the credit card for payment. The worst part of it all was the actual veterinanarian himself, Matthew Roper. The first thing he asked was, he noticed we took our cat off of Purina cat food (which we know is not the best food for cats), instead we switched our kitten to a hollistic all natural diet...in which he then commented that hollistic was only for marketing and that we shouldn't go down that route. He was extremely condescending with his remark and then he had the audacity to recommend a list of brands that we already knew had tons of recalls. At that point my kitten jumped down on their not very clean floor and when I attempted to pick her back up, Roper made a snarky comment to just leave her on the floor and then he proceeded to throw snacks down at her on the floor. Then he spent more time trying to up-sell products and monthly subscription deliveries of products that they get the proceeds from. When it was time for our kitten to get her vaccines, instead of them administering the shots in front of us (like most good Vets do) they took her behind closed doors and when they came back they talked about how feisty our kitten was (which made us very suspicious in hindsight that they most likely handled her poorly and with more force than necessary. The entire experience was very insensitive, un-caring, cold, unprofessional, down-right wicked, and we could not wait for the appointment to be over so we could all get out of there as fast as we could. We had scheduled an appointment to go back in three weeks for her second set of shots and after walking out, we called our personal family Vet immediately to bring our lovely kitten there for future and lifetime treatment. We were so sorry that we didn't just initally take her to our personal family Vet versus a complimentary exam with this generic VCA hospital which ended up not being free at all. To all of the pet owners out there who have or are planning to adopt from the humane society....please just pay to go to your own Veterinarian....free service is not worth putting your pet through mental trauma and dealing with these type of vets and staff that could care less about your pet snd only about money. I pray that this review will help others out there avoid the horrific experiences that we, and frankly many other pet owners within this google review forum, have experienced. P.S. to the VCA....don't bother responding with your generic apology like you have for other negative reviews. Read Less

We had been taking my both my dogs here since they were newborn puppies but in 2016 when my dog developed a cough and stopped eating we took him here for a check up, the male vet whose name I can't even remember now was very condescending and acted like it wasn't a big deal and flicked my dogs ear. Anyway he essentially said that there was nothing wrong with my dog and sold us some over priced medicine to get rid of the cough... A week later my dog couldn't walk anymore and we rushed him to the emergency vet clinic where he passed away over night. The vet at the emergency clinic even told us that this could've been prevented if the vet we had taken him to previously had done a more thorough check up. We were charged atleast $600 dollars to be told there was nothing wrong with my dog and sold medicine that he didn't need. I will never take any of my animals to another VCA, they deserve better than that. Read Less

I don't know what's up with all of these bad reviews. I have never had a problem here and find the staff friendly and helpful. They all know my dog by name and come out to say hello to him whenever we come by. Sure, I've had a couple of bills that were more expensive than I would have liked but from what I understand, vet visits are pretty expensive. I have even brought my dog in several times as a walk-in to get his nails trimmed and they are happy to accommodate me. They're also more than willing to price match on medications, which means I save close to $80 when buying my dog's flea/heartworm prevatatives. I'm a student and the vets are more than willing to work with me on cost; she even gave me her email so that I could email her pictures of or questions about any issues I may have to avoid a pricey visit unless absolutely necessary. This is the worst place to take your animal. I wish this would let me remove the star. I first went to this place my dog was very healthy and happy. Three months later I found myself there being pushed into putting him down. They sold me a wellness package that included a dental cleaning. $500 dollars later they had pulled several teeth. While doing this all of the pieces did not get removed and one of the pieces worked its was into his sinus cavity causing a tumor which ruptured. When I first noticed something was wrong I took him back and the vet on duty make me feel as if it was my fault because I hadn't gotten the follow up shot for the dog flue. From November to February I was in their office almost every week having test after test done in total I spent well over $2000. The day I had to put him down because they couldn't stop the bleeding the same vet basically told me because I didn't have $3000 there was no reason to take him to the emergency veterinarian (which by the way they aren't) and I really had no other choice. I was in shock and didn't realize the main reason they didn't want me to take him else where was because of the money. Upon getting ready to leave that heart breaking day I inquired about stopping the wellness plan and was told I still owed them well over $1000 so I still have to pay. After two months I have finally decided that I will be getting an attorney and suing them for wrongful death and mental suffering. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO THIS PLACE EVERY!!!! Read Less

Feel we paid too much money for sub-par service and assumed diagnoses. The one star is for the vet, she was great overall. Unfortunately, the rest of her staff was not. We greatly appreciated the follow-up call to check on our black lab. However, she asked us if we have considered the "e"word (her exact words) regarding euthanasia. Although our dog is about 11 years old she is very active and healthy and we found this completely inappropriate. Especially considering her approach at the conversation even if that was a need to consider. The receptionists seem tired and uninterested and just want to collect your funds as quickly as possible... funds and fees that seem to be way too high for the area of town, the facility and overall service provided. One thing they do in fact do well is up-sell you every chance they get for more services and unnecessary procedures. This facility is your typical, corporate run vet clinic (VCA) concerned more about making money than truly caring for your pet and offering affordable/kind solutions for the health of your loved ones. We have gone to this vet for 2 years after moving to Roswell. The facility is old, dirty and overpriced but I looked beyond that because of its convenience and because we were new to the area. Recently, we had to board our dog over the holidays and scheduled boarding and grooming. You pay for everything before they bring your animal out. Once we got him, I noticed he hadn't been groomed. I was told they were busy and they overscheduled. When we brought him back in to redo what we had already paid for, they refused to give any sort of discount to remedy the situation. I paid AGAIN to have him "groomed" and then decided we would never be back here again. Our dog is a nervous wreck boarding here and if they care so little about customer experience, imagine how they care for your animal. I had recommended them to our new neighbors but immediately texted them that we were changing. Read Less

I have had two dogs as patients at this facility for the last 9-11 years. First few years were excellent. Last couple have been ok but I defiantly noticed a change. Last month my wife and I adopted a new puppy. After going to the facility for shots etc she came to me and said that she was very unhappy and that we should start looking for a new vet. I told her had to have just been a bad day for the practice and cut them some slack. Wellllllll they finally lost us for good. It came time to get the new puppy fixed. Being budget conscious folks we wanted an approximate idea of how much it was cost. My wife was informed that 1. they would not give us an estimate over the phone and that 2. We were required to come in for an office visit before they could provide us a quote. I have been a pet owner for over 25 years and this is the first I have heard of this so again I assured my wife it must have been the person she spoke with so I called and left a message for the office manager. No return call. We call today and ask to speak with the vet. Again no return call. VCA Roswell I hope you read this because you have lost our family for good.Read Less

Read Less

ZERO stars. This vet has been around for a long time, and at one point it was a reputable place for one to take their dog. We all know vet bills can occur unexpectedly and Roswell VCA use to understand that and work with people. Nowadays they would rather cut and operate and do unnecessary procedures for a quick big buck. Think very hardly about coming here. I had the receptionist actually tell me to get a 2nd opinion and to go elsewhere. She cares about dogs. The vets are EVIL dog killers. Not a place I would go unless I wanted to say good bye to my dog. True story...
