For 20+ years I have taken all my dogs here. I love Dr Cato & and staff. They care more about you and your pets than making money. They go over EVERYTHING and tell you what you really need and what you can do without instead of just running up a bill. The only other vet I would recommend in NEGA would be Commerce Veterinary Hospital if you are closer to Commerce. Dr Kinsey Phillips also does orthopedic surgery. Just like Dr Cato, he cares and doesn't just run your bill up. I had a dog who needed orthopedic surgery and Dr Cato's office is who referred me to Dr Kinsey Phillips. (UGA was an option but Commerce VH was half the cost of UGA). I think my dogs get better health care than I do. :) Read Less

By far, the best experience we've ever had at a vet office! Everyone is very friendly and treats our pets like family. We have taken our Doberman since he was a puppy as well as a stray cat we took in. They were both promptly diagnosed and treated. We also needed to board our dog for our daughter's wedding weekend and they took great care of him. They sent him home with a printed sheet of paper with photos of him playing on the playground. Dr. Ashley is professional and knowledgeable and her love for animals shows. She's not afraid to try new things when it's called for and she is very determined to find the root of a problem. The office manager was unsympathetic to my animal being euthanized.  All he was concerned about was collecting the money. He went as far as stating " this wasn't a emergency or life or death situation ", very unprofessional! My animal got very sick overnight and had to be put to sleep! My bill is always $30-$50 more than discussed in the room! I think it's sad when they do x-rays and blood work without your consent and expect payment? You should be told what is going on? Read Less

I have been taking my beloved pets to Royston Animal Hospital for about eight years and I have never had a problem with them until the last few visits here. They have REALLY went down hill :( I now do not recommend this animal hospital and I especially do NOT recommend  Doctor Cato, I absolutely do NOT recommend her at all..   She is a very mouthy woman, when you try to talk to her and explain what is doing on, she does not listen and will actually walk out of the room while you are in the middle of speaking! Dr. Cato is extremely argumentative, rolls her eyes and does not care about what you have to say about your dog and she jumps to random conclusions about the diagnostics that has nothing to do with what is wrong with your pet!! If she would listen to the owner and what they have to say, then maybe she could make an accurate conclusion on your pet's health. She also tries to charge you a lot of money for a simple issue (like a yeast infection), Dr. Cato tries to charge you for everything and anything that she can, even if it's not necessary! Below is a list of just some things she tried to charge me for when all we went in for was because of a simple yeast infection in the ear!1) Flea medication (my dog has NO fleas and is already on preventive, the serseto collar)2) Blood work 3)Lab testing ETC ETC ETC I refused the unnecessary tests that she was trying to do and my dog is healing up fine with the yeast infection medication that was given! Without the $130+ unnecessary blood work, lab tests, ETC that she was trying to push on me! All of this for a simple yeast infection!! I have been a loyal costumer to Royston Animal Hospital for a long time, but now I will be looking for a better vet that is wonderful with my dogs and also honest to their costumers! Read Less

We've been blessed by our association with these great folks for over 10 years now, and can testify to their compassion and expert care. They have saved our previous saints from certain death; one to bloat, the other because of an intestinal obstruction, and supported us much later when we had to part with them due to complications of old age. They take care of our six cats with annual exams and vaccinations, and soothe them patiently to calm the less than happy felines. Our current saint enjoys regular grooming, a special diet, and lots of care, attention and treats at RAH. I am so very thankful that they are close by. From the folks at the front desk to the Vet Techs to the skilled Vets - a caring, kind, gentle, and experienced group of special people who go the extra mile to help both the people and animals that come through their doors. I have brought cats, dogs, and a goat to them for care over the past 7 years, and have never had anything but good experiences. I have watched these folks deal with others in crisis and have been amazed by the collective passion for excellent care that everyone there has. We have been using RAH for years now and I always knew they were wonderful, but until recently - I didn't know just "how" wonderful they were. My Boston Terrier and Best friend of 16 years grew ill and unfortunately, her time ran out. RAH answered my call before daylight, worked Bonny in immediately, and the love and care received by Dr. Cato, Becky and Vickie and other staff was the only thing that saved me from myself as Bonny and I had to say good-bye. Dr. Doris Cato is the best with our Toy Poodle and that is why we drive 70 miles round trip to see her. She really understands our little baby and truly loves her. The staff is always very nice including those who assist the Dr. and those at the front counter. I have frequently stated that they must be very careful who they hire because they are all so good, gentle and careful when handling my dog. The folks at the front counter are always very kind on the phone and quick to respond to your request or need. Though there are many veterinarians in my town, there is no hesitation to make the trip go to Royston. We are very blessed to have the opportunity to go to Royston Animal Hospital. Royston Animal Hospital offers very professional services but also takes a personal interest in your pet. Our dog, Remi, enjoyed his visits to the clinic and was treated like a "best friend". The facility was maintained very well, clean, and sufficient for boarding and exams. The staff interacted so positively with Remi. Professionalism was obvious, and empathy was shown genuinely.
