Vca North Atlanta Animal Hospital

Sandy Springs, Georgia
General Info
VCA North Atlanta Animal Hospital provides veterinary services to Sandy Springs and other Georgia areas by creating healthcare models that evolve slowly over time, depending on the pet’s temperament and the owner’s communication style. During the first visits, pets have a chance to settle and walk around while expressing their feelings at their own pace. Before examining the animal, veterinarians look for more intricate signals like eye darting and tail position in addition to gait changes and pressure reactivity. Physical examinations include assessing joint movement and hydration status, measuring weight, and evaluating gums, coat texture, and body temperature. Owners are instructed to record their morning routines, sleep cycles, and vocal tendencies while noting any recent behavioral changes. VCA North Atlanta Animal Hospital performs medical procedures in response to sudden health problems and surgical treatments, taking into account the effects of seasonal changes on the pets’ wellbeing and mitigating the impact of chronic conditions. Support encompasses the following: laboratory testing and imaging referrals, infection prevention protocols for senior animals, and emotionally informed recovery checklists. Efficiently planned and spaced implementation minimizes stress while ensuring the owner is well-informed but not overwhelmed. This is especially important when multiple pets or complex medical problems are involved. The heart of communication lies in the ability to connect with one another. Each visit triggers note dispatch, and subsequent ones rely on the pet’s adjustment progression rather than a set calendar. Owners are guided on detecting subtle regression signs and assessing if a pet is ready to progress. Long-term care employs pacing (where activities and schedules are dictated by time) and choice (allowing the patient to carry out day-to-day tasks at their own pace), as well as reassurance techniques. VCA North Atlanta Animal Hospital obtains animal behavior and family input to ensure care is consistent across Sandy Springs, Georgia. The VCA North Atlanta Animal Hospital offers the following services: Nutritional Counseling, Allergy Testing, In-House Pharmacy, Laboratory, Neurology, Microchipping, Dental Care, Emergency Care, Avian (Bird) Care, and Grooming. Thanks to this variety of services, pet owners in Sandy Springs and the surrounding areas have access to everything their pets need – from routine checkups to advanced procedures. Thanks to the always accessible services that benefit the pets’ health and comfort throughout their lives, the clinic remains a stable force in the Sandy Springs area.

I would advise that you DO NOT come to this location. They are not organized. None of the VCA's are interconnected. I essentially had to pay double to get a fecal test done and exam. I already had this done at another VCA. It's so frustrating when you go all the way to one location and they essentially tell you to go back where you came from. When I called and said that I went to another and this wasn't my first time it was the staff members responsibility to explain rationale and set the correct expectations. This location has failed miserably at both. I am extremely disappointed and unsatisfied at how I've been treated . I've wasted my time and money . Please save yourself the trouble. Maybe you should just skip going to a VCA all together and choose another veterinarian hospital. Read Less

I would honestly give this place zero stars if I could. They overcharged me by a few hundred dollars and did not give me all the information they had available about my dog. They quoted me different prices on the phone versus what they actually charged me after they already gave vaccines to my dog and gave me the medicine she needed. This place only cares about ripping you off, not about the animals. I will never be taking my dog back here. Read Less

they are truly very nice people and they have always done everything they can to make sure my pets are happy and healthy, while still staying in the realm of financially affordable. The only time it was truly expensive was when my young dog was diagnosed with an early case of heartworms. she was very healthy otherwise so of course we decided to treat it and are still treating as it takes about 3 months, plus waiting another 6 months to see if the tests come back negative. We had a minor emergency during treatment and had to take her to the ER vet as our dog had a bad reaction to a medicine. One of the vets came out to see me in the waiting room essentially right when she got there. After reading the ER vets notes, she decided to pause treatment for a couple weeks and instead gave me medication for her to help with the problem from the ER vet visit. They didnt charge me for the visit and the vet brought the medication out to me in person in the waiting room to explain it to me. I truly think that this clinic has staff that honestly care about animals and see them more like family members than pets. I have been going go this vet for about 3 years and will continue to do so.Read Less
