I am highly dissatisfied with the 204 Animal Shelter in Savannah Georgia. The shelter failed to let me know that my newly adopted cat was COVERED in fleas (something that also slipped the minds of the people at the close by humane society). No one said anything to me about the fleas although they did prescribe me an expensive medicine for another problem with the cat. It was left up to me to find the fleas covering the cat which I have now brought into a family home with other animals and carpeting. Voicemails left for the office went unanswered. Dr. Kicklighter has been our families vet for so many years. From our family cats, dogs, & to our birds, Dr. Kicklighter has always been there to care for them. When I returned home, I chose him to take care of my pet. I appreciate that both vets and their staff care for my animal and provide options and suggestions in my dogs care. I appreciate the staffs empathy and care for not only my fur baby, but also for me. They always reassure me when I am worried about leaving my pet all day. For instance, I called to check on my girl who is a rescue, and she gets very anxious being left. So, their staff member empathized and called me sometime after my original call, to let me know that it was very quiet in the back, and my sweet pup was napping soundly. Just that little gesture of thoughtfulness to relieve my distress at leaving her, made such a difference. My daughters dog got sick and the Dr and his staff was wonderful to them. They helped make a very tough decision to have to put their dog down . They were knowledgeable and caring and I'd recommend them to anyone needing a vet and boarding. My said she wished she had met the Dr earlier and she might have been able to save her dog. Read Less

I moved to Savannah last December.  Since then, I have been going to 204 Animal Hospital.  The Doctor and staff are very accommodating and pleasant.Yesterday, my two Poochons got their hair done by Sue.  Although it was pricey, my dogs have never had such a beautiful groom!!!I highly recommend 204 for healthcare and grooming. I take my pitbull baby here and he is getting very old. I have lived in WA, OR, and now GA, and I have never received such great advise and care for my dog. The office staff is amazing and very informative. Ive never felt rushed when asking questions. The vets are amazing. My dog sees Dr. Camacho and I feel as if he saved my dogs life. My dog tore both of his ACL's and Dr. Camacho started my dog on monthly shots to help regenerate the tissue so he could walk and not feel pain from bone on bone friction. After the first appointment, I took my dog home and he took a nap. when he woke he was able to stand up by hisself and wanted to go on a walk. I could tell that he was now out of pain. What I love most about Dr. Camacho is his honesty and he straight up told me that surgery was not an option due to the age of my dog. He also bought in a price list of the shots and let me make the decision of how I wanted to proceed with my babies health. Since the start up of these shots was once a week, the Dr let me just bring my dog in weekly and only charged me for the shot. My dog also has been struggling with skin allergies for years, and 204 animal hospital prescribed an allergy medicine called apequl, which worked a miracle for my dog. My dog would chew hisself raw and now he may only lick hisself once or twice, and all his hair has grown back beautifully. I can tell he is all around so much more happier and comfortable. The prices here are reasonable and of course we all know not all care will be cheap. I would not imagine taking my dog anywhere else. Thank you 204 animal hospital. Where do I even begin with 204 animal hospital. It's taken me 6 months to finally be able to write this without becoming enraged and driving up there to show my ass. My boyfriend and I had our Rottweiler from 6 weeks up until he passed at 4 years old. One day he began acting very unusual and not like himself. Nowhere near his normal appetite, never wanted to play anymore (extremely abnormal) peeing in the house during the day multiple times ( which he had never done since he was a pup) , pacing constantly and I mean CONSTANTLY and began growling at us when we would love on him or get close to his face. Again this dog had NEVER shown any kind of aggressive behavior in his entire life. We mentioned that there had recently been a new addition to the house (dog of a roommate) about 4 months prior but that the 2 dogs were getting along fine for the last several months. Dr. Kicklighter recommended blood and urine work up which we agreed to. Once I took Loni home that day he wouldn't stop scratching his neck, when I looked it was a very irritated looking rash that was oozing from where he had been shaved too close when drawing the blood. I picked up some spray the next day to put on it until it cleared up. After I left the office I got a call saying I had left without paying for the medicine, to which I informed them I wouldnt need any medicine if they knew how to draw blood, and that issue was over. The results of Loni's urinalysis showed crystals in His urine but we were told there was no way to tell if those crystals really came from his urine or were a result of the storing process for the sample. So why did we do that test?? Anyways other than that all test came back negative for any issues. I continued to ask him what else we could do that this just was not our dog, he's like a family member we know his personality and it wouldn't just change like this. After continuously cutting me off and talking over me Dr. Kicklighter recommended we get Loni neutered, that sometimes for whatever reason dogs will just change because of their testicles one day and that there was no reason to think this was anything more in such a young dog. Dr. Kicklighter also told us to come back if things continued or got worse. Well you guessed it we were back for a second visit about a month later.This time around Dr. Camacho (who is much more polite)checked out Loni and in conclusion recommended the same thing, get him fixed. After about another month and a half of just trying to keep our dog happy and comfortable while we debated when we were gonna do the big snip, Loni began to walk in circles and run into things. His breathing became labored and frantic almost over night so we left the next day for the University of Florida small animal hospital in Gainesville. They immediately took Loni in and the next day informed us of the golf ball sized tumor he had in the center of his brain. The tumor was preventing his spinal fluid from draining and it had begun to back up so bad he had lost his vision in one eye. Had our pleas for help been recognized in October we may have been able to save our baby but we put him to sleep on January 15th in Gainseville. I know this place will never acknowledge the supervised neglect they showed my dog so that is why I am writing this. Please find a better place for your fur babies, and follow your gut! If something doesn't feel right it isn't. Unless you need the annual shots or something simple of that nature do not go to this place!! Read Less

I have been using 204 Animal Hospital for a long time. Back in 2006 my cat, Tony, was attacked by 3 dogs. He was trapped between a car and 2 trees. He couldn't get away they came out of no where. My neighbor saw what was going on and rushed out to scare the dogs away. Tony made it back to the house and we went outside to get him and saw the most devastating body on Tony. We called 911. Well need to move on. We rushed Tony to the vet, they were waiting to get him and look at his numerous wounds. He was in very bad shape. Dr. Comacho didn't think he would make it through the night. It was a Friday night. The Dr. took him to his house over the weekend. We were going to do whatever we could to save him. He was in the hospital for a week or more. I went every morning and every evening. They even let me stay after hours. I got him eating. At the end of the week, which was a holiday weekend. Dr. Camacho really still wasn't sure he would pull through. He was with us for another year. Came home from work and I found him laying in the bathtub, his safe place. If it wasn't for the doctors and all the crew we wouldn't have had the extra year. Now our cats are house cats. Read Less

Dr. Kicklighter and Dr.Camacho are both extremely caring and compassionate vets. The staff is super friendly, and the vets are thorough. Dr. Kicklighter has bent over backwards to help my moms dog, who wasn't initially a patient but needed surgery. Dr.Camacho ended up doing the procedure, but everyone was super helpful in orchestrating that. I fully trust them with anything my animals need. Highly recommended! Read Less

We started seeing the wonderful folks at 204 Animal Hospital in March of this year. Our parents strongly recommended we take our boxer puppy since their boxer, Dizzy, has been going for several years now. I love that the call to remind you of appointments and are so nice. We've boarded our dogs here on multiple occasions. We've tried other boarding facilities and haven't been nearly as happy as with 204. Our dogs never came home infested with ticks (as they did from other kennels), obviously got plenty of exercise, they gave the pups treats and let they play together, and they'll let you bring in toys, bedding, and food. I'm so pleased with their rates; 204 offers a much better deal than other boarding facilities. On one boarding my girl got sick and they called to let me know and discuss options. She turned out to be fine, but I was very happy with their prompt and considerate attention to medical needs. Even though it takes us nearly an hour to get here I will definitely go out of my way to board my dogs with 204 animal hospital. Read Less

I boarded my puppy here for 4 days, and when we got her back she was so sick that she almost died. And the worst part is that the vet took no responsibility for her condition. When we got her home, she was lethargic, but we thought perhaps she was just stressed from being boarded. After several hours, though, she had horrible diarrhea, and then such weakness in rear legs that she couldn't stand. We took her to the emergency vet, where she was diagnosed with severe dehydration and pancreatitis. The emergency vet opined that her advanced symptoms indicated she had probably been in this condition longer than 24 hours, and that had she been given proper care at the boarder that her condition would have been noticed. Thank God we got her the appropriate treatment in time, and it appears that she will make a full recovery. When I, in good faith, took all of the tests and paperwork from the emergency vet to Dr. Kicklighter at this facility, he refused to take any responsibility. He even went so far as to say that I clearly wasn't capable of caring for my pet, since I had been unable to afford the estimated $1,000 to hospitalize her. The gall of this charlatan to insinuate that I don't love my dog because I don't have an extra $1,000 laying around is beyond comprehension. I can not believe the lack of compassion these people show for the pets entrusted to their care, and I caution any responsible pet owner to stay far away from here.Read Less

I've brought my dogs and my cats to 204 and I am very pleased. I have a lot of knowledge on animals and when I bring a new pet to get its check up I am pleased that I can decline some of the normal things that you would do for a puppy or kittens checkup since I already did it myself at home. I will only see Dr. Kicklighter though. I once brought my dog to see the other dr and he acted as if he was afraid of my dog. Which she is a highly trained service dog. So she is very well behaved. She had a problem with her shoulder and he did a quick check and then recommended x-rays. I came back another day and Dr. K checked her out. He was very thorough and then recommended against x-rays. She later ended up being fine and I would have spent a lot of unnecessary money. Over all I have been very pleased. All the staff has been professional and kind. Read Less

I was looking for a new vet about a year ago and this hospital was close to where I lived at the time. My dog max had developed a hematoma in his ear and after taking him to another large pet vet chain and no success and wasting lots of money, I took him to 204 Animal Hospital. The staff was friendly and the doc totally understood when I told him I was a college student and couldn't afford much. Max ended up having surgery to drain his ear and it went great. The staff was awesome and took great care of him. His ear looks great and he hasn't had a problem since. I would recommend this place 100%. Read Less
