I have been a client for several years and in the last year I have had to let go of two of my pets. Last year my 12 year old dog, Pebbles, was quickly diagnosed with cancer and cushions disease. Even though Dr. Sparks had surgery the day Pebbles took a turn for the worst, she fit me in in order to put her to sleep which I greatly appreciated. Dr. Sparks and her assistant Amy made it very comfortable for her and as easy as they could in that situation. Now this year my other dog Roxie (13) started having seizures and Dr. Sparks and Amy took very good care of her. They are honest about everything no matter how hard it is, which I am very grateful for. They do not let them suffer with false hope. This time Roxie had to stay at the VCA because she was so weak, Amy hand fed her and went above and beyond to make her last few days as comfortable as possible. Dr. Sparks kept a close eye on her and kept me informed of her health. I received a text every morning telling me how she was. Everyone there made an unbearable situation bearable. I was able to visit with her and no matter how many times I called, the people there answered my calls happy to inform me of any updates. They went as far as to send pictures of her to help me deal with her being there. Also, after my dogs passed Dr. Sparks contacted us to see how we were doing, she is such a caring doctor. They not only care for the animals but for the owners too. I would like to say that the Care Club is absolutely the way to go, so glad they told me about it. I like to close on a happy note saying that I was able to get a kitten and puppy from them that were brought to them and were going to be put in a rescue but I was able to take them. We love them both and a so happy VCA helped them find a home with us. Read Less

Their staff is incredibly professional and knowledgeable (from their office staff, to their manager Cory, to their vets and vet techs). I am rest assured every time I drop my cats and dog off with them that they are in the best of care (I've never had a dog who actually looks forward to going to the vet until now!). Have been going to VCA for nearly 17 years. All the vets have been brilliant. They helped us with many very difficult situations. Scout had terrible epilepsy and was a rescue husky we got in Atlanta. He lived till he was 9 and died of a brain tumor. Dr Hazlett was there every step of the way. It's amazing he lived as long as he did with cluster seizures. I attribute his long life to the care he got at VCA. Then there was Taylor. Another rescue dog from PetSmart. He was a lab/Pittbull. He had lots of emotional issues from being abandoned as a puppy but the Vets at VCA helped us to help him. He tore his acl and they sent us on to dr shealy at the specialty vet on Stephenson who fixed his leg. Taylor lived until he was 9 when he died of liver cancer. Dr Sparks helped us get through that horrible trauma. Blue is our problem child husky. He started to bleed from his mouth and eyes and dr Steadly knew what was wrong with him His blood platelets had dropped seemingly all if a sudden. She sent us in our way to Dr Woods at the specialty vet. His platelets are under control now. But the star of the show is Angel who ate too many socks. She nearly died from necrotizing pancreatitis but in amazing emergency surgery Dr Hazlett and Dr Metts saved her and off we went to Charleston for more surgery. Angel is doing great and is many years away from the sock nightmare. She could have died had the vets not acted quickly and with great medical skill. Today Dr Sparks has picked up the baton with Blue and Angel and has been brilliant and compassionate and has helped keep them going for many years. Dr Sparks has a gift with animals and with people. Her compassion and knowledge and decades of experience amaze me. We have been loyal to VCA all these years because the vets have all been excellent and I have trusted all of them. They have seen us through puppyhoods sickness and death but most importantly have helped our dogs live the best lives possible because of their knowledge of veterinary medicine We have more challenges ahead of course as our dogs age but I'm sure I can count on the wisdom of VCA vets and staff to see us through the next phases of our two huskies elder years. There are lots of other places in Savannah we could go for the care of our dogs but I would never go anywhere else. Dr Sparks our current Doctor is the best in Savannah and was recommended to me 17 years ago when we first moved to Savanannah from New Orleans. We love our Dr Sparks and tell all of our friends about what a great doctor she is. Read Less

VCA doesn't give a single damn about your pets. They only want your money. We adopted a dog from them, Sweetheart, who had been abandoned by her previous family and as a result ended up living in their kennels for two years. Our agreement had been to provide a loving foster home for Sweetheart, and VCA was to take care of any medical issues that should arise with Sweetheart for free. WE HAVE THIS IN WRITING. When I first took Sweetheart in they tried to charge me. I was in highschool at the time, and VCA knew our agreement. We argued over the details and got out of paying for it, even though in our agreement we aren't supposed to pay to begin with. Fast forward about a year and we discover Sweetheart has a mass growing on her back, and we are afraid it's a tumor. We took her back to VCA and the veterinarian on duty that day REFUSED to talk to us face to face, and instead talked to us through a vet tech. We could not afford treatment (otherwise we'd have gone to IVM) and so we had to hope VCA would honor their agreement, or put Sweetheart down. We did not want to put such a sweet and loving dog down over something that was not causing her pain or massive discomfort at the time. VCA refused to treat Sweetheart with her under our care/ownership and would only treat her if she was released back to them. Seeing as that was the only option other than put her down, we relented and released Sweetheart. Not even an hour later, VCA employees started posting to social media about how Sweetheart was abandoned again, and that it was an issue over vaccines and how they couldn't understand how a family could have a dog for a year then abandon her over such a trivial issue. So, again, VCA doesn't give a damn about your pets. They just want your money. They will not honor a single agreement. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS THERE. Read Less
