I arrived with my dog at 10:00 AM. My dog has a very swollen eye that is sticking out of her head a good bit.  It is now 12:00 and I have been shut in this little room since 10:15.  Nobody has checked us at all. I am just sitting in here by myself with my dog googling what glaucoma is and marveling how my dog's eye looked exactly like the pictures shown as examples.  This is the only vet open today or I would have gone to my normal one in Richmond Hill that actually talks to customers and deals with problems. 12:30 and still not one person has talked to me and n here.  No reply's when I ask for water for my dog.  Finally released her into the lobby and got to see someone.  They fussed at me for letting her out and then got upset because I asked if anyone was actually here to look at my dog.  12:51 Still no water. 12:55 someone finally came to take a look at my dog.  Staff does not seem very goo at calming a stressed animal. 1:00 nurse bought my dog back to me with a small dish of water she plopped on the floor, gave me the leash and shut the door loudly on her way out. I'm SO GRATEFUL that we were referred here by our primary veterinarian. My pup, Adam, was in critical condition and needed to have emergency surgery due to a foreign object in his small intestine. Dr. Goldberg was very thorough in explaining the indicated procedure and put us at ease, implying that this was fairly routine. Russ was very gentle with Adam and sat us down to go over the estimated cost in a best case/worst case scenario. We dropped Adam off and were told to call anytime to check on him. The management of Adam's condition was very diligent - they tee'd him up with fluids, antibiotics and pain meds to prepare him for anesthesia and surgery. Dr Goldberg called us after surgery to explain exactly what he did during the procedure, which went as well as can be expected. We dropped Adam off the next evening with Dr. Baker to have him treated and monitored overnight. It was easy to leave Adam in her care, as she was very personable and professional. Dr. Baker walked us through his plan of care, and the staff were always pleasant and informative when we called to check on Adam. Read Less

This place needs to be SHUT DOWN. The nurses and doctor and office staff were the rudest, most disrespectful, and unhelpful people I've ever met in my life. My cat was dying and they told me it would be about $2000 to maybe have him live, and $45 to put him down. They couldn't even give me any information on what they would do if I paid the $2000 or if he would even live. So I put him down. Then they say I have to pay almost $600 after it was done. I heard them screaming at a scared dog in the back and heard him yelp multiple times because they were hitting him. These people are disgusting and horrible human beings with no empathy in their souls. Seriously if you love your animal DO NOT bring them here. I've heard so many other people have horror stories at this place I honestly don't even know how they are still around. We will be contacting the local news about what we experienced while we were there and hopefully bring this place to light and get what they deserve for all the heartbreak they have caused. Read Less

I took took my dog here for any emergency eye exam when visiting from out of town. The vet was nice and seemed knowledgeable. They wanted to make sure I agreed to the charges before they prescribed medications or did any tests. Once I paid, the front staff's  attitude seemed to change. The staff and vet said if I had any questions, to not hesitate to call. I called the next day to ask some follow-up questions and the phone staff bit my head off! The woman did not want to answer my questions. She was quite rude and told me I could come in and pay for another visit. All I wanted to do was to pick up a can of prescription dog food because the medications they prescribed my dog had caused diarrhea. The woman slammed the phone down on me so I went by their clinic later in the afternoon and was told I would need to wait approximately 15 to 20 minutes to pay for one can of dog food. I would try the other emergency clinic instead of this one, if you have a choice. Hopefully, the office staff will be more respectful and nicer to their clients. Read Less

Took good care of my cat but lost all of his medications and 2 bags of unopened freeze-dried chicken treats (which had his name on them and were brought in because they were the only thing I could get him to eat as he had come down with pancreatitis). The internists that take over during the day refilled my meds, thankfully. This place is not 24/7 as some customers have stated. They are an after-hours clinic that opens AFTER the internists that work there have gone home for the day. They close right before the internists' offices open for the day. As such, expect to pay higher than normal vet prices. Their prices are pretty comparable to any other emergency vet clinic. You do not make appointments with them as some have stated (they must be confusing the emergency clinic with the vet internists that are there during the day who are totally different people and businesses)--again, this is an emergency clinic...no appointments necessary. Definitely call before you go so you know what kind of wait time you'll have (sometimes they are extremely busy and wait times could mean life or death for your pet)--just a helpful hint as the clinic does not choose how many emergencies it treats every night. I have unfortunately had to use them several times for my cats' various ailments and they are always open when I've brought one of my three cats in. I have to admit that I'm still pretty ticked about my cat's meds and treats (several months later), but I'm glad they are available because my cat would've died without them. Just never leave anything with your pet if they have to stay overnight. You won't get it back. I'd give them 5 stars, but I can't seem to get over them losing my cat's meds. Read Less

Had to rush my dog here a couple years ago in the middle of the night. Diagnosed with disks  needing repair. Couldn't walk. Was in pain. Was told surgery or put him down. Did the surgery. He remained there for awhile for rehab. Was NOT happy with our experience on MULTIPLE levels. Sent home too soon and had to be taken back (was in severe pain), after his water therapy I would find my dog still soaking wet (he was outback in his cage like that for unknown how long and I would have to dry him off myself when I would visit after work) &  despite specific instructions--they neglected to give him his monthly hw pill provided and *in person* told them to give him asap that day ...they handed the pill back to me 3-4 weeks later.  Had to have him tested for heartworms (they fit the bill on that one but my own vet double checked). I issued both verbal & written complaint. We regret ever stepping foot in there. There has been further issue with the surgery area.  Instead of a second surgery to Correct the problem, he has been seeing a dog chiropractor for a year. If I knew the what I know now, never would've done the surgery. I will drive to Charleston or Jacksonville if I ever need an "emergency vet" in the middle of the night. Read Less

Absolutely terrible experience!  I would think twice before bringing your pet here for emergency care.  Brought my small dogs in after finding them with a prescription medication that is a highly toxic stimulant and deadly.  They made me call the animal poison control before they would do anything.  I sat on hold, paid a $65 fee to have the poison control give me a case number for the vet...so what am I paying the vet for?  That's not the issue.  I waited and waited for them to come back and heard them laughing and joking in the hall.  They had no sense of urgency.  The issue was that they supposedly "examined" my dogs when they did not so much as weigh them.  Thank GOD the dogs must have not gotten the medicine as I suspected because if they had there is no doubt in my mind that they would be dead and I'd still be waiting for the vet tech Cecilia to come in and check their weight.  They were incredibly NEGLEGENT!!!  After giving me an estimate for the recommended overnight stay ($1000) and me declining because at this point it was evident the dogs had not been poisoned and if they had these people hadn't checked any of my dogs' vitals which is not very assuring, they left the room and I waited for 30 min for them to come back to check me out which they never did.  I looked for them and found no one, there were other people in the hall waiting for them to come back as well. They forged the paperwork and charged me $123 and accused me of theft of services.  I wouldn't trust them with a flea!!! Good luck to anyone who has to depend on them to save or help their animal.  You would be better off at home on google. Read Less

I'm a little late in giving my review but nonetheless.  I took my 6yo German Shepherd here after being bit by what they think was a cotton mouth on her back leg (june 2015).  Dr Goldberg was fantastic and they had her back for a work up and anti venom before I could even complete the paperwork.  He was great about explaining everything and (trying) to ease my anxiety. Today, minus a small healing necrotic area on her leg, she's back to normal! Very grateful! Read Less

As another reviewer said, they are the only 24/7 vet around.  With that, they are able to charge whatever they want.  My puppy got into the trash and used my husband's discarded gillette fusion razor as a chew toy and swallowed 3 of the blades on a Friday at 11:40.  We rushed her to this clinic and paid an after hour fee, a weekend fee, and weekend boarding fee for the surgery when they opened her up to remove the razors.  In all, we paid about $2,000 for their service.  It kinda sucks that we had to pay all the weekend and after hour fees when it's open 24/7. But in the end it's worth it because they did help fix our problem and Daisy is worth every single cent. Read Less

I'm going to have to say that I didn't experience the bad service that everyone else has gotten. Mine was quite the opposite. My dog, tyson hasn't been feeling good for couple of days now. Its Memorial Weekend and my regular vet is closed till Wed and I have become concerned that tyson wasn't feeling any better. Around 10:30 that Sunday nite, I noticed that a rash had broken out all over tyson's belly. So I decided to take him in to the Emergency clinic to be seen. Amy who was working up front was so sweet and understanding. She talked to me and listened to all my concerns. She looked tyson over and gave me some good advice. She bent over backwards to help me. I was so glad they were there to help us. Thank you Amy for being so helpful. Read Less

After a long and traumatic day at the regular vet with my dog needing blood transfusions, fluids, and a lot of love/hope from others to pull through he needed to be monitored and remain stabilized through out the night. My regular vet left me with a sense that he needed to be taken care of urgently.  When I arrived at the E clinic there was no urgency.  I stood at the front desk waiting for someone to even ask me if I needed help for about 15 minutes.  I stood there and watched a vet tech make a personal call before helping me.  They finally took my dog back, and I gave them the notes from the day that my vet had provided.  When I was taken back into a room to talk to the vet she began criticizing the work that my vet had done for the dog all day.  She was doubting the validity of the procedures done and their relevance to the diagnosis that was given to my dog.  Furthermore the vet tech continued to tell me similar things.  Finally my vet came in to check on Ferris and see how he was doing.  After going back to see the dog  He took me aside and told me that he wasn't  pleased with how they are treating him.  The vet tech continued to tell me that he didn't know what he was talking about right before I was about to agree to the payment of $750 to keep my dog there over night.  She also told me that she would strongly suggest that I transfer him over to the vet clinic that exists there during the day, because they simply know what they are doing but there is a $500 dollar starting rate.  This is ridiculous and extremely uncomfortable.  She told me "if I wanted to do the right thing I would transfer him to their vet clinic in the morning . . . "  I feel as this put me in an extremely uncomfortable situation.  And it was unethical for them to share with me their opinions of one another.  interestingly enough what the vet at the emergency clinic was doubting about the procedures from my regular vet she actually performed through out the night.  Quite the contradiction.  Needles to say I picked him up in the morning looking pretty bad, drove him over to my regular vet and within 8 hours my regular vet was able to get him to a point where he was able to come home. Read Less

Has been my vet for the last seven years. Was decent at first, but it usually ends up being a headache to use the place anymore. Prices were reasonable, but not so much anymore. On multiple occasions they are closed when I show up  for SCHEDULED appointments. They don't go by their post an hours. Huge waste of time, and they honestly do not care. I'm done with the sketchy place.Look elsewhere for a vet if you are in Savannah or Pooler!

Read Less

I have to say I been to this vet a few time over the years.  When my american bull dog had cancer in his heart.  We always seem to arrive when Dr. Janet was on duty.  She is the most outstanding vet at this place.  Not that she has an easy job what so ever.  She is the must understand person I ever met, you can tell she puts here heart in her job.  I love her.  Now I am not going to lie I have seen other vets at this same place who I will be renameless but you can tell they want the money and offer expanse opportunity, that are not needed.  Just listen to them and ask a thousand and one questions, to the vet techs and the doctor, you can pretty much read between the lines and get the truth.  I know what ever reason you have to come here is stressful.  Hang in there.

Read Less

I called the Emergency clinic only to get a cold person on the other end sounds like I'm talking to an unemotional robot. I have worked in the animal field for a while and when you lose the compassion in you than you need to leave that field, it's just sad when your already stressed out to have someone speak to you like your an idiot and again has no compassion for you and your situation what so ever. The sad thing is you really have no choice in the matter because they are the only EVC in savannah that's close by........ Maybe they need a new receptionist with a better compassion/bed side manners  for people!!!!!!!
